Precap:-
"Astha"
She stirred in her sleep but dint wake up. He called her again but she was the ghorde-baich-ke sonay-wali type. He had to shake her shoulder to wake her up.
"Astha, you are home...wake up!"
She woke up with a jerk, confused and startled at first then realising where she was things started settling down.
"How is he? Is he okay?" She asked suddenly worried.
"Yes he is okay... i came to drop you home. Go take some rest and don't come to office today...alright?"
"No..it's okay I'm fine. I'll come."
He shook his head, she had a habit of saying she was fine even when she wasn't.
"No, i have fired you for the day. Please don't come."
She laughed, was he being funny, She thought.
"That was straight... okay then bye!"
She got off, picked her bag and went inside. Kalindi pulled the curtain back and headed for the main door to open it for Astha.

Chapter 11
The Outlandish Truth
Astha woke up lazily to be informed by Kalindi that the driver as waiting outside.
"Dint he just tell me not to come today?" She asked herself aloud scrutinizing the wall clock. It was past ten, she had slept for six hours now. What could be done? She dragged herself to her wardrobe, every inch and every edge of her was itching, what a sour sensation it was!
She sat inside and the car zoomed away. Astha took out her cell phone to check on her updates or any missed phone calls or messages. There were none. Queer, she thought. Tired and exhausted by her trip last night she became almost oblivious to her surroundings, not realising where the driver took her.
Why would she take that car? Sincee when did she have a driver of her own.'
All of a sudden when the car bunged up, Astha realised where she was.
"Where have you brought me driver?" She asked.
"Sir had ordered me to bring you here."
She looked around; it was a unfilled place, much outside the city, somewhere in its outskirts. From where she was sitting, she could see concentrated vegetation around and the rocky structure seemed like a cliff of some sort. She got off, terribly flabbergasted by Shlok's sudden plan of inviting her there. But doing so she realised what a blunder she had made. The car sped away the moment she got off, leaving her to the mercy of that horrendous place. Astoundingly there wasn't a single human soul around.
"Shlok Sir!" She called out aloud. Why did i come here in the first place? She thought. But she dint come there on her own, rather she was impelled to. Nevertheless where the hell was he if he had called her there? The scorching heat shooting daggers from the blazing sun became unbearable. She started walking towards the farther side, sweating profusely. She made another faithless attempt of calling him, but to no use. Things started worrying her now. Unaware of the place she ended up at the extreme periphery of the cliff, from where looking down she saw everything precipitating into the mysterious depths of nothingness.
"Astha!" Someone called her from behind. Quite fatefully even before she could turn around she was pushed forward. What followed was an incessant shriek which faded away in a matter of seconds.
Shlok woke up with a jerk, tiny beads of sweat glimmered on his forehead. There was much puzzlement and confusion in his eyes followed by the flashes of that noxious nightmare. It was a long torture of the soul, he had to drop his head in his hands, it throbbed like the wings of an angel. His muscles itched because of the awkward position he had slept on the couch. A nurse knocked on the door.
"The patient is conscious.. you can come see him." He sighed in relief and nodded. Shlok splashed some water on his worn out face before making his way towards the patients ward.

The next morning, yellow and white, came broadening out from behind the mountains. Shlok was early and he decided to leave for office before his usual time. Most of the lot of the staff members was not there yet. He made it to his cabin and took to his seat. The nightmare still disturbed him. He logged in to his e-mail id.
"What the hell?" He exclaimed following which were so many clicks and tabs. He had lost five tenders to his business rivals. Five? He couldn't digest! His company never lost those tenders, then why this time? Shlok was at sea but some more research paved in way for some sense. Someone had intentionally withdrawn on behalf of his company, only a day back. A traitor! This was going to be a huge loss not to the accounts but to the reputation of his company. What troubled him more was the fact that how was he going to face his already unwell dad and tell him the truth. There had to be something done. He needed to know who had done that in his absence.
Shlok stormed out of his office towards Astha's table. She wasn't there yet.
Damn it! Where the hell are you?'
Shlok searched for Arav when his eyes fell on the posted mail lying quietly on Astha's desk. Something caught his attention. The logo, he recognised it; Paving Way To Success' the slogan read. He clutched his fists and picked up the letter. Monarch's Constructions and Co. It was a call letter. And call letters don't come without a prior interview. He thoroughly checked it again; but it wasn't a job offer but clearly a call letter.
His features changed from perplexity to incredulity to finally rage.
How could you Astha?' He suddenly felt so disgusted that he shredded the letter to pieces and stormed back.
She was doing everything right under my nose and i failed to understand. Unbelievable!' He paced inside his cabin restlessly. There were occasional flashes of the time they had spent together. Shlok never lied to himself, even when he started feeling for her. Reading her eyes he could easily tell, there were traces of affection on the other side too. He could not believe that those eyes, so innocent in their exuberant happiness, could hold such demons of false glory. He wasn't infuriated because he was deceived but he was only infuriated because he was deceived by her, HER of all the people. The one, in whose presence the light felt brighter, the rain frolic, the one in whom the heart found solace, the soul found consolation.
"I wont spare you for this...no i wont!" He raged. He ordered Akira to inform him about Astha's arrival. Fifteen minutes later she was finally there for her apocalypse.
Astha slumped on her seat gazing at the torn pieces of paper lying in front of her.
Someone was here?'
She picked them up, before consigning them to the dustbin something hit her and she started placing the bits in order. They were bitterly torn but she could still make out what the content was. The only thing she missed was the Logo and the Slogan.
"When did i apply anywhere?" She asked herself in bewilderment. Her thoughts lingered; finding the pertinent answer when they were briskly knocked out by a tempered and hard-held voice.
"Astha!"
She saw him towering over her, his features were bitterly cold and eyes literally spat fire. Her sixth, seventh and all the rest of her senses sensed trouble. She stood up, barely able to hold her weight.
"Sir..."
"Open your mail." He ordered dryly, his gaze never leaving her visage.
Without any second thoughts she opened her mail. He almost snatched the mouse from her clicking on something.
Why the hell has he turned into his monster self this early in the morning?' Astha wondered. And how audacious checking someone's mail by force...' But soon the screen blurred in front of her. She gasped and held the table for support. The same call letter with her agreement to work for them for the next year blazed on the screen.
"What is this?" He asked. Astha, whose lips were suddenly dry, was short of words. Everything bewildered her; first the call letter then Shlok knowing all about it and top of everything, she being totally and completely unaware of it.
"What is this?" He yelled this time loud enough for heads to turn; he did not seem to care.
"I don't know." She said gaining back her confidence at his unusual take in hand.
"Really you don't?" He rolled his eyes. "You give an interview there, they sign a contract with you for a year and you don't know what this is?"
"I swear i don't! I never applied there..." She said throwing her hands in the air, exasperated.
"How much did it take to buy you?"
"Mind it please!..." She retaliated.
"Hun?" He scuffed. "You give away five huge projects, retrieve the company's inner information to my rivals..."
She cut him in between. Nothing seemed to settle, things got worse with every word he said.
"Sorry... what did you say? Are you trying to call me a traitor?"
"Traitor is a small word." He yelled. Everyone had forgotten about work, they had all eyes, all ears, all minds concentrating upon Shlok and Astha.
"You are insulting me!" She yelled back equally furiously.
"Insult? Didn't you feel insult while giving away your conscience for mere pieces of paper... how easy it was for you to deceive Astha. I could never have imagined. How long have you been working for them? Why should i even ask!"
"Enough!" Her boiling anger stung her eyes. She could defend herself no more. Not when she didn't even know what was she defending herself for. She ran away. Astha never expected herself to do so under such circumstances, she was the one to be brave enough to face, but nothing of the sort had ever happened. She slammed her fingers on the lift's buttons. Inside she realised she had pressed it for the top instead of the ground floor. Exasperated and out of emotions she ran out on the rooftop. She wanted to cry and yell and tear her hair apart.
Hours passed by and she sat there idle, even the tears failed to escape anymore. A dried up track was visible on her cheeks, her red nose and blood shot eyes made her look miserable.
"What is happening? I never did that.. How can i? Then why me?" She sobbed. It was near dusk that she finally accumulated every iota of courage inside her to go back. She stood up, her body felt so numb. She dragged her existence back to the elevator. Her feet hitting into something made her stumble and finally fall on the rough surface of the roof top. Her palms started bleeding; she didn't feel the pain perhaps the numbness did her good at least there. She saw her bleeding hands as if they did not belong to her. She had forgotten about bandaging her papercut today. More blood oozed out from it today. She remembered how tenderly he had wrapped his handkerchief around it that day. Was he the same beast?
Before she got up her eyes caught the object which was the cause of her fall. Those same silly flowers, pink under the diminishing hues of blue in the sky. In sheer frustration she threw them away.
So it wasn't really him? She thought. It was now clear that someone was behind everything that happened today. Who would know where she was until he had a clear idea about what was to happen to her today? She promised herself that she would find out. But before that it was important to deal with Shlok.
