CHAPTER 18-A
EVERYTHING CHANGES...
Chhayi hai tanhaai, kyun naa jaane
Taani was shattered after what she saw. She ran back to her house and found a hurt and lost Shivam flipping through a magazine. All she could find around her was hurt, betrayal and pain. She went and hugged Shivam as she broke down to tears. Even Shivam didn't hold back his emotions. Breaking the hug they stared at each other and sweared never to believe in love and relations. They were not going to run away but instead face their problems no matter how much it hurt.
Saza yeh kyun hai payi, kaun naa jaane
Rey had followed her to her home but no matter how hard he banged on the door no one was opening it. Shivam knew how hard it was for Taani to see the love of her life being snatched away but he knew he would have to clear the mess his 'so-called sister' had created. He was going to make her life hell. But he was helpless in Taani and Rey's matter. Rey's fist now pained so he decided to climb through her window.
Sooni hai raahein, sooni hai baahein
Swayam was waiting for Sharon to regain consciousness. He held her hand and a lone tear escaped his eyes as he remembered how he had tricked Sharon so as to prepare for their secret date.
FLASHBACK
Sharon had arrived even before Swayam could have arranged for their date. He would give his 'SIREN SHARON' a surprise date. But for that he would have to keep Sharon busy. So he made the excuse that Taani's passport had to be renewed but Taani was busy with Rey. So as expected Sharon had offered to help. She said she would pick Taani from the college and get her passport renewed. But then they noticed that Sharon's car had a flat tyre and somehow, Taani had taken an auto which was quite rare. So Sharon took Taani's Car and left to pick Taani.
FLASHBACK ENDS.
He looks at Sharon and mentally curses himself for being the reason she was in hospital.
Sooni nigaahein, jisko hai kho jaana
Woh milta hi kyun hai
Rey looked up and saw a heartbroken Taani sitting on the window sill. She saw him standing below. Giving him a blank look, she got down from the window sill and slammed the window close.
Dil ko hai murjhana, toh khilta hi kyun hai
Shivam saw all this through the gap as the door was not closed. He got reminded of the angel lying in the ICU. He realized that if Kriya knew that girl then may be Taani might also know. So knowing that it was not the right time to talk but still he told Taani about the car accident.
Jisko hai kho jaana, woh milta hi kyun hai
Rey walked to the nearby park and sunk into the wooden bench. He had no intention of returning home, not until he got Kriya out of their lives. He closed his eyes and Taani's face hovered in front of his eyes, the killer smile on her lips and her eyes gleaming with happiness when they had acknowledged their love for each other. And he lay there for a while weeping silently but then decided to pay Sharon a visit.
Dil ko hai murjhaana, toh khilta hi kyun hai
Shivam was standing outside as Taani tried to calm her too tensed brother. He saw love and selflessness radiating from Taani. He was happy to see that the angel or Sharon had such good people in her life. Taani had introduced him as her friend from New York and he was happy not to be linked with Kriya anymore. He took out his and Kriya's photo from his wallet and tore it into two halves, crumpled it and threw it into the dustbin. Wiping his tears he sat down on one of the hospital benches.
Ho ho chahat bhari woh aankhein, ras mein doobi woh baatein
Kho gayi jaane kahan
As the days passed by Sharon was recovering fast. Swayam had now shifted to Sharon's place temporarily until she recovered fully. Taani and Shivam used to visit them regularly. Seeing Swayam and Sharon together sometimes reminded Taani of how she and Rey used to be. She was reminded of their cute fights and how Rey used to manaofy her. This generally used to bring Taani on the verge of tears but then she would get reminded of the day she saw Kriya hug Rey and then all her senses would scream for revenge.
Palkon ke thay jo saaye, kyun ho gaye paraye
Kyun aa gayi dooriya'n
Rey would also visit Sharon regularly. Whenever he got a chance, he would try to talk to Taani but Taani would either ignore him and leave or she would just stare at him expressionless which killed him from inside. He used to stare at the ring he had given to Taani when he had proposed her at Goa for long periods of time. And everytime he looked all he could see was Taani's expressionless face - A person whom he had never known.
Jisko hai kho jaana, woh milta hi kyun hai
Shivam saw Swayam serve breakfast to Sharon who had now fully recovered. He saw her smile lovingly at Swayam and deep inside it did hurt him. For him, the moment he had seen Sharon, he had fallen for her. But when she was happy with Swayam, he won't ruin their happiness. But it did hurt him but he was happy for Sharon also.
Dil ko hai murjhana, woh khilta hi kyun hai
Kriya could sense the tense atmosphere in the living room as Rey tried to make everyone understand that he had not married Kriya. He told his mom and dad that he hated her. Before anyone could say anything, Rey pulled her by her arm and literally dragged her out of the house but Rey's dad stopped him saying that as Kriya had proof of their marriage they can't do anything. Kriya could feel the hatred as everyone gave her a look of disapproval. She remembered the time when Rey used to lovingly tease her calling her 'BAATCUTTER'.
Jis ko hai kho jaana, woh milta hi kyun hai
Taani collected and threw all the pictures and gifts Rey had given her. She deleted all their pics from her laptop. Still she missed him. No matter how hard she tried but she could never fill the void Rey had created in her heart.
Dil ko hai murjhana, woh khilta hi kyun hai
Each and every time Rey looked at Taani, he could almost imagine her crying deep inside. He could see through the mask she put in front of others. She had officially announced their break up much to Rey's disapproval.

Sooni nigaahein, chhayee hai tanhayi
Taking a deep breath he knocked at Swayam's door. Sharon was adamant on celebrating 'HOLI' and he had to discuss about it with Swayam. His thoughts were broken when he heard the door open and saw Taani's eyes staring at him.
Sw : (shouted from inside) KAUN HAI TAANI?
T : Aap ke koi dost... (and was about to leave when she felt him grip her arm)
R : Main tumhare liye sirf Swayam ka dost hu?
T : Haan... sirf Bhai ke dost...
R : Aur kuch nahi hu main tumahre liye? 0.01% bhi nahi?
T : (freeing herself) Kabhi sab kuch the mere... but now you mean nothing to me... (and she left from there)
Kyun na jaane, saza yeh hai kyun payi, kaun jaane...
Rey closed his eyes to prevent the tears from falling as he started his discussion with Swayam. Little did he know that this holi was going to change everything.
