PART - 8

Life is strange.Sometimes it snatches away your very reason to live and just in flash of a fleeting moment it showers you with happiness that know no bounds.The serenity of which is so overwhelming that the person concerned struggles to accept that it is indeed the reality and not a figment of his imagination.

To say it was just another property in his name but to Arnav and Khushi this place was their personal heaven.Earlier it has only been his escapade,a place that provided him some solace in a world that was alien to him,where he had no one to call his own.

And then it has all changed.An unexpected meet with a stranger has led him to his ultimate destination.He had never been the one to believe in all the philosphies but after Khushi's arrival in his life,he had firmly believed that all his trials and turbulations has been leading him to her.

She was Khushi,his happiness and despite all the adversities that drew them apart,Khushi's Arnav has never let the faith In their love waver away or let him get binded in an host of insecurities.

Khushi could never forget the day Arnav has brought her here.She has been robed off words that has resulted her in translating into the actions.Launching herself into his arms overcome by the inexplicable happiness at Arnav's gesture, the feeling of belongingness that got instilled in her as his arms has slowly come up to hold her close,she has known that it was for keeps,a feeling that no time or distance could alter.

Arnav and Khushi lost the trail of time as they stood there in each others embrace,letting the warmth spread to the deepest recesses of their heart.After the painful separation of 5 long years,they were finally feeling each other.The longingness,the turmoil,the pain that has become synonymous to their existence being apart from each other,was ebbing away as they continued to soul their aching hearts with each other's presence.

Arnav felt her shiver in his arms and he let his gaze wandered around.His lips curved into a soft smile as he spotted her pullover discarded on the ground beneath the shade of tree carelessly.Trust Khushi to do such antics even in the chilly weather.She had never liked the extra baggage of sweaters and jackets wanting to enjoy each weather in its course.

Clearly,nothing has changed,he mused fondly as he bunched her up in his arms and walked forth towards the patio.Khushi was in trance as she kept staring in those deep eyes that were shimmering with an ocean of love for her.She could stay like this forever but her trance broke as Arnav settled her on the lounger and attempted to pull away from her hold.

Panic engulfed her at the very instant,the fear of him losing him again gawking at her senses.Tears stung her eyes and her hold tightened on him incessantly.His name escaped her mouth longingly as a desperate plea "ARNAV".

"How long it has been since he has heard his own name?".For the outside world it was always ASR and after his parents death the only person who has addressed him this way has been Khushi.As if only she was meant to call him like that.Her voice soothing his anguished soul but one look at her fearful eyes and his protective instincts kicked in urgently.

He knelt in front of her wiping the continuous cascading down tears from her face.Khushi didn't blinked her eyes as she kept her gaze focussed on his face.If it was a dream she didn't ever want to wake up from it but the reality hit her like a flashing wave of water when she felt something familiar as her own identity against her palm.

There it was,his heartbeats,loud and clear,going erratic just like she could feel hers rising and falling .She has been lost under his spell that she hasn't even noticed when Arnav has nestled her palm against his heart.She sat silent as Arnav covered her palm with his own and spoke in a caressing whisper.

"ITS NOT AN ILLUSION,NOT A DREAM WE HAVE BEEN HARBOURING FOR SO LONG,NOT A FIGMENT OF OUR IMAGINATION.ITS REAL KHUSHI.FEEL THAT,MY HEART THAT BEATS ONLY FOR YOU.IT ONLY ECHOES YOUR NAME,YOUR EXISTENCE IS ESSENTIAL TO MINE KHUSHI.I WILL CEASE TO EXIST WITHOUT YOU ".

His voice broke on the last words as he stay rooted in his position,shaking his head in denial,pleading her to stop shedding any more tears.He despite the mere sight of them in her beautiful eyes.His words hung between them as the realisation finally sunked in.Her eyes glinted with twinkling happiness for the first time in all these years.

Cupping her dear face in his hands,he spoke palcatingly like he has done so innumerable times in the past as if she was a little child.

"Khushi.I am right here with you.I was just going to get my bag okay!!!".

She followed his line of vision and saw his bags lying in the middle of the plush gardens.She nodded slightly and Arnav kissed his forehead lovingly and sprinted off to get his bag.He was back in fraction of seconds and placing the bags on the table,he opened the bag,pulling a covered package out of it.

Khushi looked on quizzically as he took his place besides her.Tearing the covers apart,he placed the content of it in her lap as he spoke in daze.

"My first official flying jacket as a pilot.The day I passed my flying test,I was bestowed with this.The moment,they handed me my flying liscence.you don't know Khushi,how I leashed a control on myself.The moment we have dreamt of has finally come true bu the happiness I should have been feeling,had left me barren because you were not there with me".

Taking a deep breath he continued.

"I never wore it.If someone had the right to confer me with it was you Khushi.then.I kept it just at it is waiting for that day".

The longingness in his voice pulled at her heartstrings,how alone he must have felt at that moment.From the time they have become two hearts and one soul,there has been nothing that could be demarcated in his or hers.All their dreams,hopes ,wishes and aspirations belonged to them.It was all theirs.

Khushi didn't waste a second before pulling him up in a standing position.His arms raising at its own violition as Khushi made him wear the jacket.It felt as natural as breathing and Arnav wanted the moment to freeze right there.

Khushi adjusted the collars to perfection,straightening his sleeves,smoothing the invisible creases and once she satisfied with the way it looked on him,she roamed her fingers leisurely on the designation engraved on it.

Stepping back a little,eyes misted,Khushi bought her hand up to salute him as she mouthed proudly "CAPTAIN ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA".But Arnav stopped her midway from doing anything of that sort and pulled her close prohibiting her from placing him at a higher pedestrial.

The sparkling diamond in the tiny finger caught his sight as he bought it towards his lips and caressed it before entwining their fingers.Khushi saw the myriad of emotions flickering in his eyes.She has never needed his words ,she could read whatever she wanted in those molten caramel orbs.She didn't know about others but when it came to her Arnav,his eyes were indeed the mirror to his soul.

Witnessing the turmoil he had gone through,Khushi found the strong facade,she has masked on drift away.She could pretend in front of everyone but not him. His presence has always been her undoing. He was caressing the ring subconsciously,the floodgates of her heart found its way through her eyes as her heart embarked on its own talk to its sole keeper.

"This is all that kept me going Arnav.In all those endless days and nights,this was the only thing that held me together.You don't know how these years passed.Each moment felt like a lifetime.Wherever I went all I could see was you.Your teasings,your anger at my carelessness,your amusement at my antics,your infectious laughter,your possessive hold.It was only you all around".

Arnav opened his mouth to say something but Khushi stopped him by the raise of her hand.She wanted to let it all out and she did as she continued speaking.

"When I passed through the street lanes,I saw us walking alongside each other holding hands,the tea stall in the corner reminded me of the endless times we have sat there sipping cups of tea.The teddy bear you gifted me,I fought with it every night,as if it would hear my complaints and bring you to me like some magic.The collection of diaries is almost finished as there wasn't a day that ended without me venting out my complaints,my anger,my frustrations on it".

"Khushi Shhh!!!".Arnav spoke worried seeing the state she was driving herself in.But Khushi was far from paying any heed to his consolations.

"I kept talking to the stars,whispering my love,my agony,my longing ,my fears trusting that somewhere you are also doing the same thing.Each day was a struggle.From the moment we parted ways till now,I was barely alive Arnav,this heart feels alive only with you otherwise its just an organ in my body".

"I went to the orphanage every month and each time I went,I could see all those children looking at me with hopeful eyes that may be this time,you are accompanying me.They kept me asking when will you come and I could only say soon because I myself didn't knew the answer".

Khushi led him to the threshold on the patio as she spoke hastily.

"Look around,everything is just the way you left it as.I came here almost daily.All the time that we have spent here kept flashing in front of my eyes.It calmed me for sometime but the realisation that you were not here was killing me with each passing day.My patience had given up long ago Arnav.It was you only you,your words,your love,your beliefs that kept me going or I don't know what would I have done",

Years of pent up emotions had finally found their way out as her voice rose louder with each word.Fisting his collar in her hands,Khushi shook him as her voice grew louder with each passing word with tears cascading mercilessly from her eyes.

"But nothing could ever fill in for you.Nomatter how many ways you come up with,Arnav nothing and I repeat nothing could make way for your presence in my life.You were the one who told me that I don't need to worry about anything because you are there for it.I don't want to be careful anymore,I don't know any right or wrong,all I know is Im tired Arnav.I don't want to live a moment without you.You are all I need ,you are all I ever wanted,You are my every wish,every dream,you are all I have ARNAV".

With the last word Khushi slumped on his chest exhausted and all Arnav could do at that moment was gathered her close in the safety nest of his arms.Blending her to himself wanting to wipe away all the traces of pain from her heart.Immersing all the love he had in his heart for her because she was the only reason for his existence.
