Sonam and Rishi Kapoors cold war ends

Comments by the former on Ranbir Kapoor had upset the veteran actor; but now all seems to be well

For some time now, Rishi Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor's camaraderie hasn't been the greatest. Although Sonam made her debut with the veteran star's son, Ranbir Kapoor, in Saawariya (2007), a statement she made about the young actor on a TV show in 2010 had upset Rishi. But now, we've been informed that Sonam and Rishi have decided to bury the hatchet and they have, in fact, become friends.

A source close to the duo reveals, "Rishi is playing the role of her father in an upcoming movie. So, over the course of the shooting schedule, they settled their issues and got to know each other well."

Those who missed the drama in 2010 should know that it was an episode of Karan Johar's chat show that led to the issue in the first place. In this particular episode, Sonam made an appearance with Ranbir's ex-girlfriend, Deepika Padukone. As a result, the girls had a lot of fun at Ranbir's expense, occasionally joking about him.

Although Sonam has always maintained that what she said was in jest, the news did not go down well with Rishi, who publicly lambasted her for her outspokenness. The source says, "But now, they have let bygones be bygones. Everything else is in the past."

Nupur Asthana, who has directed both Rishi and Sonam in their next film, confirms the news, saying, "They shared a great bond on the sets too. They got along like a house on fire."
