Hameeda smiled at this changing Jalal.. not only he had got his love..and his child..but also, he was changing in the political and social arena.. She kissed on his forehead..
She asked Jalal to rest while she and Salima would leave.. They'll be outside..for if he required any help.. they would be present.. Jalal agreed to his mother..
Hameeda and Salima left the room...leaving Jalal and Jodha alone..
Part 48 :-
Midnight arrived. There was a dark silence in the room. Jalal sat by Jodha's side and constantly caressed her forehead and her palms. A lone tear trickled down his eye as he watched her beloved lying unconsciously on the bed.
He felt so disgusted with himself.
He got up and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Then he slowly kissed on her eyes and then he came to the window of the room. The more he saw her in this state, the more his heart winced with pain.
He looked up at the dark sky. The moon wasnt visible as it was hidden behind the dark clouds.
He raised his hands towards the sky, and prayed to Allah ," Ya Allah.. Humari Jodha ko kuch nahi hona chahiye.. agar unhe kuch hua to hum khudko kabhi muaf nahi kar payenge.. Kyon humesha unke saath hi aisa hota hai.. kyon unhe itna dard sehna padta hai.. kyon humare apne hi unke khilaf kuch aisa kar jaate hain jisse hum kabhi maaf nahi kar sakte.. kyon humare apne hi unhe dard dete hain...
He couldnt speak anything further as his throat choked. He was so much worried for his love. He again went back to her bed side and sat beside her. He took her hand in his palm and tightened his grip over it.
He started talking to an unconscious Jodha.
" Uthiye na Jodha Begum.. dekhiye humari haalat kya ho gayi hai.. Hum aapko is tarah nahi dekh sakte .. Ab jaldi se uthiye aur humein gale lagaiye..varna hum tootkar bikhar jayenge.." said a sobbing Jalal.
Jodha didnt budge. She laid in the same condition. But his love, his concern were reaching her heart directly. She didnt want to leave him. She wanted to live..for him..forever..
" Dekhiye.. hum aapke liye kya layein hain.. (He then took out green bangles from his Jama's pocket, which he had brought for his love,on his way back to palace) .. aapke haath par ye kitni khubsurat lagengi..
inhe pehenkar inki khubsurati badhaiye Jodha Begum.. uthiye ab.. humein aur tang mat kijiye.."
He wanted to make Jodha wear those bangles now itself, but noticing the injury on her hand, he put away his thought. He kept the bangles on the side table. As he turned back to Jodha, his eyes caught the
view of his own portrait kept near Kanha's idol in the Kanha's temple in his room. He was surprised. In no time, he was able to understand, that she was praying for his welfare.. How pure , selfless and loving she is...
Jalal bent down a little and kissed on her forehead with the utmost warmth and love. Then slowly he laid beside her. He took Jodha in his embracing arms and provided her with the warmth. His heart was close to her heart.
Both of their hearts were beating in similar synchronisation. He slowly dozed off as he held Jodha to close to his heart.
*** Morning ***
It was early morning time. The sun shone blissfully and scintillatingly. The morning was a lively one, with birds chirping in the Palace Garden and the flowers smiling with spreaded petals.
But the environment of the Palace was a contrast, atleast till they received any more news of their Mallika.
Everybody was still praying for their Mallika.. As soon as they had woken up, they had paid their namaz and prayers for the welfare of their King and Queen.
Hamida Bano and Salima begum prayed to Allah for Jodha's well-being. Hamida Bano was relieved that Jodha's family had left Agra the day before, otherwise they would have been so tensed and worried.
But She also confirmed and determined to herself that She'd not let anything happen to Jodha. Jodha was an angel to her and she couldn't afford to lose her angel..her child.
* Jo-Ja's Room *
Jodha rested in his arms. Her eyes were still closed but her condition was better. She was resting in the safest place in the whole world. Her closed eyes rolled. Her head wasn't paining much, but yes, her hand did pain much. As she slowly opened her eyes, she could feel his heartbeats near her own heart. The first thing her eyes saw was his innocent face..His face had dried off marks of tears which must have flowed the night before.
An angelic smile escaped through her lips as she realised, that he had taken her in his grip. As she moved a little, her hand pained and a small cry came out from her mouth.
Jalal immediately woke up hearing her sound. His happiness couldn't be explained in words. He was so delighted and elated to see her in her conscious. He got up and realised that her hand was paining. He was worried.
"Hum bilkul theek hain Shahenshah...vo bas zara sa dard hai haath mei.. lekin hum theek hain" came her reply as she smiled to him.. She slowly got up and Jalal helped her in getting up and made her sit comfortably.
As he got up to call Hakims to check Jodha's condition.. he heard of heavy breaths.. It seemed like someone was breathing hard.. He turned back to look at Jodha but she just smiled..
She was saying something but he couldnt get it properly.. He tried to reach to her.. but she was just smiling at him..and slowly going far away..
He said loudly ," Jodhaaa... Kahan Ja rhi ho?".. But there was no answer.. He roared on her ,"Hey wait there! Where are you going? Dont even think to leave me..".. He was panicking..
The things in the room started to become fuzzy.. he could make out... or was it that He wasnt able to recognise them..
He still heard the heavy breathings and painful sighs.. He felt a soft pinch on his hands and THERE! There he woke up from his sleep...
As he opened his eyes.. She laid in his arms.. in the same unconscious condition.. He shook his head in despair.. So was he dreaming? He was so dejected..His dream had been a near deadly nightmare..
Suddenly, he noticed her hands making movements..Even her closed eyes were rolling..
His face gleamed with a genuine smile as this was reality.. He slowly parted her from his grip and made her lay comfortably on the other side of bed. He got up and went to call the Hakim Sahiba..but he was still worried.
As the Hakim Sahiba made her way in the room, and then checked Jodha's condition, a slight smile crept over her face.
" Mallika ki haalat mei sudhaar hai Shahenshah.. Aur hum ye dekhkar bahut khush hain ki inki haalat kaafi behtar hai.. aisa lag raha hai jaise kisi ki dil se bheji hui dua Allah ne qubool karli aur in par meher ki..lekin.." her voice was delightful but stuttered at the last bit.
Jalal was delighted as much till he heard her "lekin".. He was worried again.. He asked her ," Lekin Kya..?"
"Lekin Shahenshah.. Mallika kab tak hosh mein aayengi..kuch keh nahi sakte.. inke haathon mei thodi hulchul ho sakti hai..lekin ye kab tak hosh mei ayengi..iska andaaza hum nahi laga paa rahe hain"..She completed with a low tone.
Jalal was shattered that very moment. His smile turned into disappointed curve.
"Ye nahi ho sakta... aap kuch kariye... HUMARI JODHA KO ABHI ISI WAQT HOSH MEI LEKAR AAIYE...Ye Humara hukm hai".. blabbered Jalal..with his voice going twitchy and teary.
The Hakim Sahiba shook her head is despair because she was helpless. Suddenly, Hamida Bano and Salima Begum entered the room and checked about Jodha's condition.
As they got to know the latest medical status of Jodha, their faces turned pale. Their prayers were working but not whole-heartedly. They just could not see their lovely Jodha in that dreadful condition.
Jalal bursted on the hakim sahiba ,"You told us that She would be awake in the morning.. Now what.. She's not even budging in.. where is your treatment going? Do something, otherwise, the repercussions wont be good
I tell you".. He nearly cramped his fist in anger.
Hakim Sahiba once again repeated ,"Shahenshah..himmat rakhiye..Jodha Begum ki haalat thik hai..bas hum yeh keh rahe hain ki ye kehna mushkil hai ki unhe hosh kab tak ayega.. Humein lagta hai, ke agar inka puri tarah se dhyan rakha jaye.. aur sahi aushdhi (medicine) dete jayein.. to ye jaldi hosh mei aa jayengi.."
Hamida Bano and Salima Begum were getting Hakim Sahiba's point. It was Jalal who was not able to bear this. After all, his beloved was lying almost lifelessly.. He wanted her all lively, speaking, smiling in front of him right now.. but he was helpless...
He left the room immediately in anger and tears for he couldn't tolerate that painful sight.. it ate him up inside.. Hamida was tensed for Jalal.
Hamida asked Hakim Sahiba and Salima begum to sit beside Jodha and take care of her, as she would go and take care of Jalal.
Precap - Jalal goes to Sheikh Salim Chishti Sahab's place to pray for Jodha.. and Jodha opens her eyes.
