CHAPTER-15.

A moment of stunned silence was followed by chaos all over..

Veera was pulled away from Baldev's side,by Ranvi as he instantly grabbed Baldev's collar in extreme rage.

"BALDEV!!!YE TUNE KI KAR DIYA?!!TERI HIMMAT KAISI HUI MERI VEERA KO-..!"People tried to set Baldev free from his hold,but Baldev himself did not fight back,but simply stood without budging or fighting back as Ranvi jerked him by his collar.

"TUNE SOCH KAISE LIA KI MERI VEERA TERE BIWI BANEGI!!!KAISE SOCH LIYA TU?!!BOL!!!"Screaming this,he suddenly placed ahard punch on Baldev's jaw,which made everyone gasp..But still Baldev did not fight back..

People kept on trying to move Ranvi away but in vain.He kept on hitting Baldev,and though blood had started coming out from a cut on Baldev's lip,stll he stood rigid without fighting back..

Ranvi had raised his fist to hit Baldev again,when Ratan clasped his hand in hers.

"Baas Ranvi!Bauhot ho gaya aab!Jo hona tha wo ho chuka hai!Aab..Aab Baldev humara damaad hai,teri Veera ki pati..Ye saach maan le tu..!

[Enough Ranvi!It's enough now!What is done is dine!Now..Now Baldev is our son-in-law,your Veera's husband..Accept this truth..!]"

A heavily breathing and shattered looking Ranvi turned towards his mother wounded angry eyes.

"Par Beeji..

[But Beeji..]"

"Rani baas!

[Ranvi enough!]"Ratan pulled Ranvi away from Baldev,who was still standing still with his lip bleeding..His eyes burning with a strange fire,he stared at Ranvi's retreating back,but not once did he move..

"Ranvi!Mainu pitke tainu thandak pargaya ki?Ya aur pitna hai?Kiu ki teri Veera to aab se Meri Veera hai..Meri biwi..Aur hamesha hi sirf meri rahegi..Chahe to thora aur pitke aapne dil ko thanda kar le..

[Ranvi!Are you calm now after beating me up?Or do you want to beat me some more?Because your Veera is My Veera from now on..MY WIFE..And She will always be mine..If you want you can beat me some more and calm yourself..]"Baldev's cold taunting words got an angry hiss from Ranvi..And he would have started fighting again if Ratan would not have held him back..

The chaotic incident was followed by a panchayat meeting which only lead to more chaos..

The heads of the Panchayat had decided on getting Baldev and Veera married properly,with all the rituals within one week..

The declaration brought a variant reactions from all the people involved..

Ratan and Chaiji exchanged meaningful giving in looks..

Veera stood shocked still,her face pale..

Ranvi clenched his hand into tight fists,and angrily looked at Baldev..

Baldev gave a happy winning smile,and returned Ranvi's stare,quirking his eyebrows in an odd mimickery of what Veera always does with him..

Balwant looked confused,not sure what to feel or how to react..

Gunjan looked confused too and also guilty..

But it was Bansuri who got everyone's attention finally..The entire crowd present gasped out in unison,as Bansuri literally screamed out,

"HAI O RABBA!!!"

And fell to the ground in a dead faint..

Gunjan was helplessly sitting by her mother's bed,tending to her and listening to her endless complaints and fake tears at Baldev's marriage with Veera..

The doctor had just checked her up and said she was perfectly alright,but she insisted she was going o have a heart attack if Veera was brought to her house as her beloved son's wife..

But no one was listening to her complains..Except Gunjan,who was forced to seat by her,and still desperately looking for a way out as she needed a chance to talk to Veera and apologise to her..

Balwant was busy to start all the wedding arrangements for his useless son,who had finally done something good in his life by marrying a girl like Veera..Though he was still angry at Baldev for the way things had been done..

"Oye Gunjan!Meri puttar ko bula meri paas!Wo apni Beeji nu aise maarne ke liye chor kaise sakta hai?!

[Gunjan!Call my son to come to me!How can he leave his mother to die like this?!]Bansuri bawled out again,irking Gunjan some more..

"Uff Beeji!Aap bulao apne ladla nu!Wo abhi apki hone wali bahu ke age peeche Ranjha banke ghum raha hai!

[Uff Beeji!You call the apple of your eye!He is now busy being Romeo to you to be daughter-in-law!]"Gunjan snapped out in irritation.

Instantly Bansuri sat up from her sick bed,and glared at Gunjan angrily.

"Ye ki gaal kar rahi hai tu?!!Baauli hogayi ki puri tarha?!Wo mera puttar hai!Veera ko to wo sehen hi nai kar sakta hai!Aur Ranjha banega?!Kabhi nai!Ye to iss Panchayat ki waja se use uss manhoos ko shaadi karna par raha hai!Hai mera bechara puttar!Pata nai ki haal mei hai aab?!Kaha hai aab?!

[What are you saying?!!Have you gone completely crazy?!He is my son!He can't even tolerate Veera!And he will turn into her romeo?!Never!It's only because of the Panchayat he had to marry that cursed girl!Oh my poor son!Who knows what condition he is in,right now?!Where he could be?!]"

She went on with her complains as Gunjan rolled her eyes in exasperation and looked away..She was sure she was going to have a severe headache for months..

Meanwhile Bansuri's beloved son,was out walking behind Veera..Following her around stealthily,s she walked around,still in a shocked state..Keeping an eye on her..He did not want to accept even to himself that he was worried about to her..

Just then some old ladies of the village walked past a lost in thought veera,and passed her disgusted looks..

That was it!

Baldev did not want anyone to say a single bad thing about His Veera!

He strode forward,and he noticed through the corner of his eyes,that the old ladies had stopped and turned as they saw him walking towards Veera..

Veera was brought out of her trance when a pair of strong male arms pulled her back into a tight back hug..

Her heart started beating fast,as she instantly understood who it was,and her stupid body started heating up at the contact..

But that was before,he nuzzled her soft open hair with his bearded cheek..

And then his husky voice melted her completely..

"Kaha jaa rahi hai akeli meri Jaan?Mainu bhi daas dey..?!Aakhir paati hu tera..Haq banta hai mera janneki..

[Where are you going alone,my Life?Tell me too..?After all I'm your husband..It's my right to know..]"

His hands round her waist,were having the usual effect on her..And Veera did not know how to respond to him,as her body heated up more,and the wall of shock around her numb mind started melting in the heat of his proximity..
