CHAPTER-12.

Time stood still..The world stopping for sometime,as the renowned rowdy son of Pritampura,for the first time in his entire life hugged a girl..And that also no one other than his childhood foe-Veera..

Veera-the very same girl he thought he loathed,had now become a mystery to him..

His hands tightened round her slim waist,loving the feel of her soft feminine body wrapped round his,as she rested her head on his thudding heart..Hearing his heartbeat..

His body sang a different tune altogether,his blood warming up to her soft touch and feel..His lungs swelling as her soft heady fragrance engulfed him..Her soft dark silky hair blowing against his face by the gentle breeze created unexplainable feeling of satisfaction and pleasure..Altogether it was a completely heady and mesmerizing experience for him..

"I thought you had left me here to die.."She whispered against his chest,where the front of his kurta was now almost wet with her tears..

"I will never leave you Veera.."He said softly,and as Veera still had her head rested against his chest,she did not see the way his eyes gleamed meaningfully at his words..

A very meaningful glint,which could mean a lot of things..

Finally they had moved away from each other,and after an awkward silence Veera had put in that they should be looking for their way out of the jungle..

An hour passed and all they managed to do was get some scratched for all their efforts,as darkness was just about to cover them..

A wolf howled from somewhere in the jungle,and instantly Veera ran upto Baldev,and hugged him tight..Her eyes rounded in fear..

"Baldev!There are wolves in here!What should we do now?!"She whispered in a scared voice..

A smug smile came on Baldev's lips.The time finally had come for him to show his worth to the world..To Veera,that is..

To him,that was almost equivalent to his world,cause all his childhood had been spent on trying to get the better of her.

His chest swelled with happiness,as he took the responsibility like the Sher(Lion) he was..

His hand curved round her waist,and rested there,as if it was the most natural thing to do..

"Don't worry Veera!I'll take care of everything!"He said confidently,and stood still with his arms round her,and a satisfied smile on his lips.

Minutes passed,and as he stood hugging her with his eyes closed,he did not notice her looking up,and an annoyed expression cross her face at his smug one.

"Baldeva?Are you really going to take care of everything?"She asked in an unusually soft breathless voice..

But Baldev did not notice the change,or did not want to,as he hugged her tighter,and with a winning smile,nodded in agreement..His eyes still closed.

"Of course Veera!I will take care of you..You don't need to worry a bit!"He said happily.

Things were really getting better and better for him..

Pritampura's lioness was finally accepting that the lion was smarter-..

A hard shove,startled him to open his eyes,as he stared baffled at an angry Veera,now standing a few steps away from him.

"If you have to do something then do it!Standing here and hugging me and thinking you are Shahrukh Khan and I am Kajol,and this is Kuch kuch hota hai won't help!You are Baldev,I am Veera,and this is a Goddamn jungle,and we are lost and still can;t tolerate each other!Get it into your brain and do something!Uff!"

Baldev now stared at her with angry eyes,his quick temper now triggered by her long insulting tirade.

He clenched his jaw tight and his eyes glittered with now barely held back anger.

"If you are so smart then why don't you yourself do something?!Since this is not Kuch kuch hota hai or Dilwale dulhaniya Le jayenge,and I'm not the hero and you are definitely not the heroine,then why are you waiting for me to do something?!I am not your slave or your pet pussy cat or chocolate lover boy!"He snarled out in anger.

Veera clearly fumed at his words,and after staring at him with angry eyes for a few second turned and started striding away,leaving a dumb founded Baldev standing alone..

Aab ye kiththe ja rahi hai akeli?Mainu pagal banana ke liye jaise paida hui hai ye Sherni!

[Now where is she going?It seems this lioness was born only to drive me crazy!]He thought exasperatedly,as he quickly followed her,silently cursing himself for his bad luck.

Veera had reached a clearing,where now,as her initial rage ran out,she stood looking around,biting her bottom lip worriedly, wondering as to what to do next.

Suddenly crunching noises from behind her,nearly made her scream out when she saw Baldev's broad physique walking past her,and she relaxed sighing out in relief.

With curiosity,she stood by quietly,and watched what he was actually doing..

She raised her eyebrows,clearly impressed as she watched him collecting dry leaves and twigs,and arranging them in a perfect heap,in the center of the clearing..

But as he did so,not once did he send her even a fleeting glance,and strangely she found it very annoying..

Huffing she went forward by his side to help him,but as soon as she went close to him,he moved away..

So he was really angry was he?!

But Veer straightened her spine and decided to ignore him too..After all she was Veera Sampooran Singh,she was not ready to pacify anyone for no reason at all..

Finally after fifteen minutes,Baldev had managed to light fire,and arranged a comfortable seat for himself with some leaves and his jacket..

Veera stood at some distance not sure what to do..

Finally she sat on the opposite side of the fire,avoiding looking at him..

She was both hungry and thirsty..

Out of the corner of her eyes she noticed Baldev vanishing into the woods again..With thudding heart she waited,and waited and waited..

She was getting ready to scream out for him,when the sound of crunching leaves and twigs came to her ears..

Baldev walked in with some guavas,and some water in a coconut shell from God knew where and quietly placed some beside her and walked back to his place,and sat munching..

Veera decided it was time to call a truce,so she quietly got up..And carrying her fruits and water portion,she went and sat beside him..

And as if he agreed to the silent truce,he moved a bit to make space for her in his cozy seat.

Together they sat by the fire,munching their fruits,in a silent truce,that both seemed to have agreed to for a change..

Baldev did not know what woke him up,but something did,and he turned to see the source..

There,just a few feet away from Veera,where she lay beside him on the bed of leaves by the dwindling fire,a snake was slithering closer..

His heart nearly stopped,and he pulled Veera to his side,as quietly as possible,so that the snake just slithered away.

But unfortunately Veera had woken up,and was about to scream,when her eyes also fell on the slithering body of the reptile..

Quickly Baldev clamped her mouth shut,urging her to keep quiet,but she started flaying her jeans clad legs and was pulling his hand away,off her mouth,read to scream.

Seeing no choice left,Baldev covered her body with his,by rolling on top of her completely,and covered her lips with his..

They r in d horrifying jungle.its so sweet of Baldev 2 say that he'll take care of Veera.so caring he is.As usual they had a fight too.Finally a snake.what he did 2 close her moyth...my god!he is too hot
