"What sort of proposal is this?" Shashank asked.

"She is just playing dad. But we still have KC for us and not to forget we will have 100% profit. MC is going to make sure we have our clients and are supplied with everything we need. There will only be one difference. Geet will have a right to change any of our decisions and make her own for the benefit of the company and workers."

"So in other works she will be boss?"

"Yes."

"And how will we work is she bosses us around?"

They were silent. No one could understand why Geet was interested in having full control over KC.

"I will talk to her" Shashank said.

"No dad. We are keeping this strictly professional. Let me think about this."

Dadi had over heard the conversation. Even she wondered what interest Geet might have in taking full control over KC.

Maan had his phone in his hand and kept deleting the number he had dialled. He knew he wouldn't be able to talk to her so just wrote a text.

M: Can I ask something?
Geet saw the text and settled comfortably on her bed.

G: Yes.

M: Why do you want to be boss of KC?

G: I have my reasons.

M: Is it...Sohan?

G: He fits nowhere into the equation. Leave him out.

M: Ok sorry again. Is it me?

G: Spot on.

M: ME? But I didn't do anything

G: Chori aur upar se seena jori

Maan laughed out loud.

M: WHAT? What do you mean?

G: I am not telling you now. You will find out when I will be your boss.

M: so you are confident that I will accept your deal?

G: You are standing at the same position where I stood not very long ago and just like me you don't want KC to close down. This is your only option.

Maan didn't answer. He just kept looking at Geet's words.

"Didi, Savitry Devi has come to talk to you. She doesn't have an appointment so shall I let her in?"

"Yes Muskaan. Please bring a tea with ginger and cardamom for her."

"Good morning Geet beta."

"Good morning Dadima, please sit."

Dadi took a seat.

"Beta, I came here to ask you something and I will not be able to put my mind at ease till I don't know an answer. KC has been established by my late husband and both my son and grandson have made great efforts to bring it to the top. I know you are not bad at heart or want to damage KC in anyway but why do you want to be boss at KC? What will you get from it?"

"I do not want to be boss over KC Dadi, I want to be boss over Maan." Dadi looked shocked.

"My decision is partly professional as joining hands with KC CAN make MC the best worldwide if it works out. It is also partly personal. Maan has hurt me. He has wounded a very weak point of mine and I want to make it clear to him how much it hurts. I have not interest in giving him any physical or mental harm, I just want him to realise how his actions and words hurt the people around him" Dadi was in awe. Even when she could revenge, she thought about Maan first.

"I thank you Geet. By doing this it will ease your pain but also help Maan. Let me tell you something at this point though. Maan wasn't always like this. I am not saying this because I am his Dadi and love him a lot but because it is the truth. Many years ago he fell in love with a girl called Samira. Samira had everything Maan wanted in her but she left him heart broken. She used him and this is why he behaves like this, especially towards women. He is not cold hearted but just needs someone whom he can trust again."

"Still he has no right to..."

"I know. He is hurt but has to respect others, too. That is why I don't mind you bossing him around a bit" Dadi giggled.

After she left Geet thought about Dadi's words. If Maan was hurt so much this should make him realise even more how much his actions is hurting others. Really, this Maan Singh Khurana is a specimen for himself.

"Congratulations Mr Khurana" Geet held her hand for Maan to shake. Everyone around was clapping and the press was eagerly taking photographs and asking questions.

"Mrs Mishra, may I ask what made you join hands with KC? After all KC was not in a very good position and it would have been easily possible for you to make it close down completely."

"True, but I do not like to stomp on a person lying on the floor. I prefer having KC back up and fighting for the top position rather than closing it down for my profit." The reporter made his notes and there were a few clapping here and there.

"Mr Khurana, how do you feel being helped out by another, newer, less experienced company?"

Maan hated it to the core to be present at the press conference but he had to go through it, he wasn't a coward after all.

"I thank them for giving KC a second chance. As for MC being a less experienced company than KC; well, Mrs Mishra has proven that it is not sufficient to have experience only, but a good deal of innovation and a lot of patients is required, too."

The conference went on for some time, after which they queued for dinner. Geet had, after Maan accepted her offer held a small party to inform the world about KC and MC's new partnership. She had to Maan's astonishment left out the part where she will be ultimate boss in KC. It puzzled him why she didn't want anyone to know.

"You know, I wonder why you didn't tell the reporters about the part where you will be boss in KC." Maan asked her while they were having dinner together at one table.

"Because this is the personal part of the deal."

"Personal? So you want to be boss to annoy me?"

"No Mr Khurana, I am not like you." She said with a little smile.

"Now what do you mean by that?" Maan put down his cutlery.

"Don't stop eating. All I mean is that I have my reasons which will be clear to you in due time. Till then, enjoy the tiramisu" she had an even brighter smile on her face. Maan didn't say anything after that but just kept looking at her. Her smile was not cold anymore. Unknown to Geet, she had giving Maan one of her old, warm smiled which Sohan had loved so much on her. She was right, there was profit for both, but who will get the most, only time could tell.
