The next few days were the most difficult ones in Arnav's life. Waking up every day, hoping that Khushi would be found and going to bed everyday with the disappointment of not finding her, was a living hell.

He hounded Aaron for news of her. He had called and checked every relative and friend's house. But Khushi was not found anywhere.

He was unable to give a missing person's report or advertisement, because he did not want to alert Shyam and Rohan. Neither could he go to the police for the same reason.

If they knew Khushi was missing, they would put two and two together and come up with the right conclusions.

He could not afford it. This would undermine all the sacrifices Khushi had made for him and her parents. Shyam and Rohan would destroy all evidences and escape.

No he wouldn't let that happen. Those b***** would have to pay for every tear Khushi had shed.

The evidences of blackmail were not difficult to gather. All the bank transaction details were already with him. Aaron had helped him get other evidences such as messages and audio transcripts from Khushi's mobile service providers, through his own devious ways.

The day soon arrived when Shyam and Rohan had to be nabbed. All evidences had been gathered. Every crime of Shyam and Rohan had enough proof.

Arnav decided to confront both separately, wanting their confession despite the evidences.

He made Sahshi Gupta and Rohan's father's common friend invite Rohan to their house. When he arrived, Mr Gupta and Arnav made their presence felt.

Rohan had been terrified to see them. A few slaps from Arnav and presentation of the evidences, had him confessing his crimes.

He tried to beg and cry and plead for mercy. But Arnav had already recorded his statement. However, he deeded to use Rohan as bait to trap Shyam, offering to let go of him if he helped to nab Shyam.

Rohan had no choice to escape imprisonment, other than accepting the offer.

So, Rohan consented and also gave Arnav the soft and hard copies of his photographs with Khushi in compromising positions. Rage filled Arnav's heart. He wouldn't spare Rohan. He knew that there would be more soft copies, probably with Shyam.

He put a check on his anger to trap Shyam. Once Shyam was imprisoned, Rohan would pay, he decided.

As planned with Arnav, Rohan called Shyam to his farm house. When Shyam arrived, he saw nothing amiss.

Hey Rohan. 'What's up? Why did you call? Did Khushi give money? She has been pretty quiet. Time to release those pics I guess,' Shyam said with a sneer.

'Yeah. She has been acting smart. Do you think she has told Arnav anything?' Rohan asked.

Shyam became tense. 'Do you think he knows? What would he know? How? Khushi wouldn't dare!' he said.

'He may know about the fact that Khushi is blackmailed. How long can she hide.' Rohan said.

'How can he know? No Khushi can't reveal the truth. All her photographs are with me. She knows if she dares tell Arnav, I can harm Arnav.

She knows I need his shares and I will stop at nothing. She knows I will ruin her reputation and then hurt Arnav.

No. Khushi wouldn't have said a word. May be she is ill. Relax Rohan.'

It was then that Arnav emerged from his hiding place along with the police.

'Yes Shyam. Khushi did not dare. She suffered alone for me and her parents. But not any more you b*****'.

You are so dead!' Arnav said, smashing his hand on his face. Shyam was too stunned to react. By then Arnav had become uncontrollable as he continued to punch Shyam.

As Shyam began to retaliate, a full blown scuffle broke out between them. Rage and pain for Khushi gave strength to his actions, as Arnav punched Shyam repeatedly saying over and over again How dare you hurt my poor innocent angel.'

Shyam had never seen this side of Arnav, not even when he had found out that he had ruined the life of his sister by cheating on her, not even when Arnav had found out that he had been swindling him of his money, not even when he had made life miserable for Anjali and Arnav by fighting for Risheek's custody by calling Anjali an incompetent mother

This rage he saw in Arnav's eyes was unlike other occasions. It was murderous. At that moment Shyam knew Arnav would kill him and he feared for his life. Luckily for him the police intervened and handcuffed him.

Rohan's relief was short lived, as the police handcuffed him next. As Rohan turned hurt eyes in Arnav's direction, Arnav said,

'You get no sympathy, you b****. If not for you, my Khushi wouldn't have been in this trap.

You betrayed her and hurt her. Now reap the benefits of your crime,; he said.

Whether it was fate or divine providence, Arnav did not know. But the police jeep in which the two criminals had been taken met with an accident.

Both Rohan and Shyam died instantly.

Arnav did not feel any remorse for either. They deserved the fate, he thought bitterly.

Meanwhile Arnav had taken action against the tax evaders in his company. He had contact the IT department and made a declaration of all evasions and paid the amount with penalty.

He fired all the corrupt employees and hired new ones.

Nearly three months had passed as Arnav had fought one battle after the other. He won them all, except the battle of grief and loneliness that the memory of his missing wife brought him.

This was a problem beyond his power to resolve. If he found Khushi, he would turn the world upside down to woo her and win her back.

In these months he realized what the word 'love' meant. He understood now that Khushi personified the word. She was his reason to live and smile and be happy. She was his passion and obsession.

But, It was too late. She had vanished into thin air without a trace. He had even given the missing person's ads and report to police.

But she had not been traced anywhere. Every day he had begun to lose hope. He began to think something terrible had happened to her.

It was nearly four months after her disappearance that Arnav got his first break through about her whereabouts---
