~ Getting to Know ~

Khushi was arranging her clothes stealing looks towards the scattered first-aid box and remembering her encounter with Arnav. How he hissed in pain, how his reactions were pure and innocent. Then her thoughts went towards his and payal's encounter. What did he call her? Chhanchhan. Why did he call her that? and payal was in such an ease with him in fact more comfortable around than she is with Khushi, she thought. What's with this man? Why was she thinking about him so much? Why was this man affecting him like no one has effected her ever. And then his hug, such a warm person he seemed. Her expression changed immediately at her next thought. He is a man. And no matter what they show on face they are beast when it comes to their true self.

"Hey Di", payal came and hugged Khushi from behind.

Khushi put her warm hand on the cheeks and air kissed her, "hey". Khushi pulled Payal and made her sit on the bed. "so my baby sister is happy?" Khushi asked feeling heavy thinking about payal leaving her after her marriage.

"Aw! Di!" payal hugged Khushi and started crying. "you have never asked me like this", payal sobbed on Khushi's shoulder seeing Khushi's soft side after years.

"I am your sister, sweetheart and no matter how hard I am with everyone but parting with anybody in my family I will feel sad", Khushi said brushing payal's back with her palm.

Payal cupped her face and then said "come back di. I want my di back please".

A lone tear slid down Khushi cheek, "I am...I am trying by best to get back my normal self. But I am just not able to".

Payal was shocked how Khushi was pouring her heart out after such a long gap. Almost more than 5 years even more. She silently started recording Khushi's voice so that she can send it to the doctor.

They talked about their childhood, how they used to enjoy together. Khushi laughed when they remembered how both of them used to keep their mother on her toes and payal just cried and cried over Khushi. Because for the first time she was seeing Khushi talking to freely. She wondered why, but she did not stop her. It was required. It was high time she should get treated totally.

"Payal, tujhe Mr Raizada Chhanchhan kyun bulata hai?" Khushi finally asked.

"Mr Raizada? Oh you mean Mr Handsome?".

"Umm!" Khushi just made a noise.

"That's beause my name is payal so he calls me chhanchhan because it is both related and he thinks I am chulbuli so...you know".

"hmm! How long you guys know each other?"

"From day one DI, the first day he came to meet dad, since then I know him".

"and you treat him like a brother?" Khushi did not why she asked that but she asked it to be clear about payal's and anrav's equation. Because she feared what if he wanted something else from Payal and what if he was hiding behind some mask? What if he was genuinely a bad guy?

"Oh di, Arnav ji is a sweetheart".

"Vishal you are a sweetheart do you know that?" Khushi brushed her thoughts and concentrated in the present.

"Arnav ji showed me Akash's picture long back and said he wanted me in his house as his brother's wife". Payal blushed furiously.

"and what did you say?" Khushi asked

"I couldnot say anything Di. I just hugged him.

"Do you like Akash?" Khushi tried to see the truth in her sister's eyes.

"Yes I do Di. He is just like Arnav ji. Di, Akash ji will call me at night. Will it be a problem if I go to the terrace and talk to him?" payal pressed Khushi's hand with lot of hope.

Khushi toughed her sisters cheek and nodded.

Payal got up and hugged Khushi. "Thank you so much Di, you the best in this whole world".

Khushi smiled at payal and payal happily exited their room. Narrowing her eyes she looked back at the first aid box then typed something in her mobile.

I have to get all the information on Arnav Singh Raizada. I have to know his intensions before I go to meet him tomorrow.

Arnav was spinning his paperweight on his dark wood table when his secretary informed him about Khushi's arrival.

"Get her here", she commanded.

He touched his back still remembering how her finger felt and a smile escaped. No matter how mad he was on her, but he couldnot forget their encounters. It was fiery and passionate. And there was something, some kind of a pull which he couldnot shed off. Khushi Kumari Gupta, her name was as pretty as she was but her zabaan was nothing like her name and her appearance. He wondered why?

There was a knock at the door.

"Come in" he said in his dark low voice.

Khushi entered in a three-piece business suit. She was looking like a thorough professional not the girl he has seen yesterday. There was an invisible wall all around her and Arnav could feel the tension.

After dismissing Aman, he asked Khushi who was not pulling out a chair and sitting directly opposite of him. "you want some water?" Arnav asked offering her his glass.

Khushi looked at him and then took the glass from his hand. "Thanks", she said and gulped couple of times to intake the water.

She placed the glass on the table and wiped of her lips.

"So Mr Raizada, you must be well aware off why I am here right?", Khushi asked suspecting him that he was a man who did all his home-work. Atleast the report from her detectives proves so.

"Yes I know. You want to bag the Malhotra deel if I am not wrong", Arnav said relaxing on his chair.

"You are right Mr. Raizada".

"Arnav. Call me Arnav Khushi!", Arnav said in a warm tone.

"I am not here to do PR Mr. Raizada and I think you suffer short term memory loss. I said I don't like strangers calling by my name and neither I like call them by their name".

"we are not strangers Khushi, we are going to be relatives very soon. You sister is getting married to my brother".

"I am not here to talk about our relation Mr. Raizada. I would appreciate if you don't waste mine or your time talking baseless things".

"You like being rude? Or is it some kind of a wall you want to create around you to prove it to the world oh I-am-miss-untouchable", Arnav leaned on the table and drawl his words before throwing it out.

Khushi stood up thumping her hand on the table and leaned forward, "I don't have to create a wall Arnav, I am strong enough to protect myself from b******ds".

"Mind your language Khushi!"

"Then lets get onto what I am here for Arnav".

Khushi did not realize that she called him Arnav twice and Arnav who was sitting enjoying the scene couldnot help but to smile.

"am I looking funny to you?" Khushi frowned.

"No you aren't" Arnav said unable to control his laughter any more.

He brusted out laughing giving Khushi complex.

"what's so funny Arnav?"

"nothing! You just called me Arnav and trust me you sound more civil".

Khushi was spell bound. How could she do that? How could she deviated from her set of rules?

She looked at Arnav something happened in her heart. She curiously looked at heart, which was punding heavily against her ribcage and then again she glanced at Arnav who was almost now rolling on the floor.

"Khu...khushi... you know you are too cute".

Khushi's expression was some-what like what-the.

And when you are angry you look all the more cute.
