Part 2
---
After about half an hour of drive, Roshni for the first time, felt unsure of where she was. The deserted road seemed never ending.
"Chachi hum kahan jaa rahein hain?" Chotu asked, tensed. He regretted leaving his Chachu back at home. Even Bazigar wasn't around.
"GPS toh correct road bata raha hai" she said, puzzled. Her mobile phone buzzed.
5% battery remaining.
She screeched to a sudden halt. She looked around her. Felt like city outskirts to her.
There was a narrow road on the left which perhaps led to a small village in the vicinity.
She hated to admit it but they were lost.
She wanted to cry but she had Chotu with her. There was silence everywhere and it was a little past afternoon. Her heart pounded. She drew a blank.
"Chachi waapis chalte hain" Chotu said, suggesting a good idea. The road was straight and there were minimal chances of getting lost on the way back to Junaid Manzil. She quickly started the car and took a U turn.
After about 10 minutes, a sudden whirlwind of jeeps took her by surprise. They were fast approaching from behind and in no time, had blocked the road for her.
She had to stop. What a day gone wrong!
Shaking from inside, she stepped out and signalled Chotu to slide downwards to avoid being noticed.
"Ji?" She said, trying to be confident.
One of the goons came forward and stared at her.
"Gaadi mein kya hai?"
"Kuch nahi" she said, looking sideways.
"Accha?" He stepped ahead to examine himself when she ran back and blocked his way.
"Nankhatai hai" she said, quickly removing all boxes whilst protecting Chotu.
The goons closed in on her, trying to grab her hand. Her heart stopped. She felt her dole. They weren't as strong as she took them to be, it seemed. 5kgs of nankhatai was okay but 5 goons were not. She gulped a lump down a throat. She could think of only one name who could help her.
Just then, she saw Bazigar swooping down on them, startling the lot.
"Aman!!!" She yelled, now being able to breathe and her tension feeling relieved.
No one came into sight. The goons laughed hysterically and tried to grab the sweet boxes as well as her hand.
"Rukooo!!!" Came a voice.
They turned back to see a young man walk towards them.
Roshni's eyes lit up with relief.
Kiska hai yeh tumko, intezaar main hoon na
Dekhlo idhar toh ek baar main hoon na!
She could already see Aman punching them in their faces and beating them to a pulp, just to think about harming her. "Huhhh!!!!" She smirked. "Ab dekhna," being confident about the situation.
"Arey bhai! Yeh kya kar rahein hain?" He asked, quite concerned for the men. Her smile vanished.
Roshni was confused.
"Aapko pata hai, yeh nankhatai nahi hai, jaanleva mithaai hai. Mujhe toh lag raha hai iska aap sab ko maarne ka zabardast plan hai," he said.
Alarmed, the goons stepped back. Roshni was baffled.
"Thank you sahabji," one of them said, gratefully.
"Nevermind" he said, wearing his shades. He took the boxes of sweets from their hands and conveniently said -
"Continue."
Roshni's eyes widened in disbelief.
They smiled and turned towards Roshni.
"Arey oh Nawab sahab! Girte waqt kahin aapki akal toh nahi toot gayi!" she kept blabbering but Aman had already started walking off.
"Ruko," he said again, stopping in his tracks.
"Finally," she said, feeling happy. "Akduu Khan Baba ko yaad toh aaya."
"Aapki permission ho toh inki gaadi mein ek Masoom baccha hai, jo inke behkaave mein aakar inke saath chal pada tha. Use main le loon?" He asked innocently.
"Ofcourse ofcourse!" They smiled and nodded.
"Thank you" they shook hands with each other as a formal gesture, much to her dismay. What the heck was on!
She tried to slip away but a goon caught her by the wrist.
"Paraaye meherbaani aap kahan chali?" He held her back.
"Aman!" She said, afraid. But he was busy rescuing Chotu.
He asked the little boy to come out. Chotu was relieved beyond words. He ran into his arms and hugged him tight. "Sorry Chachu, aaj ke baad main kabhi aapko chodkar nahi jaunga" he promised. Aman kissed him on the cheek and shot a glance at her, amused.
"Hmm better" he said and they walked off into the distance. Chotu protested about his Chachi being left behind but Aman only winked back.
"Dekhiye aapko pata nahi hai. Main Ayaana hoon. Main ek... ek 8000 saal puraani power princess hoon" she said hurriedly, trying to save her skin.
They looked at her from top to bottom.
"Aap itni boodhi hain?" They asked.
"Ufff nahi!" She explained, rolling her eyes. "Woh toh ek story thi. Par main Ayaana hoon aur mere andar superpowers hain. Mere dolle dekhiye!" She raised her hand forcefully and freed herself from their grip.
They gripped both her hands and started dragging her away when Baazigar punctured an eye of one of them. A rock was shot towards the head of the other and Bazigar pecked his beak hard at the head of yet another.
Three men fell down, rolling in pain.
Roshni couldn't understand what was happening.
Another goon started dragging her away when Aman appeared again.
"Itni jaldi bhi kya hai bhaisahab?" He told him, smiling.
Roshni frowned. What was he upto?
"Aap toh rehne hi dijiye please," Roshni scolded him.
"Itna careless banda toh by God, maine nahi dekha aaj tak."
"Ek minute bhaisahab, main baat kar rahi hoon" she freed her hand from the clutches of the goon.
"Main kya lollipop hoon? Ke jab chaha rakh liya, jab chaha chodd diya?"
"Tum ekdum nankhatai ho, useless Bubblegum and unwanted smokey" he teased.
"Hawwww. Dekhiye Nawab sahab, main... main aapki biwi hoon. Mujhse aise baat nahi kar sakte"
"Toh kya karogi? Dole dikhaogi?" He said, imitating her style.
"Ek kaam kijiye bhaisahab aap continue karo" he said, turning towards the highly clueless goon. He grinned and stepped forward when -
"Ruko!" Roshni shouted, pulling Aman's hand towards her. She wouldn't let him go so easily.
"Abhi meri baat khatam nahi hui" she stared at his cute eyes.
"Kya aap mujhe aise hi chodd kar chale jaayenge?" She asked, crying, getting serious this time.
"Haan" he said, straight faced, turning around and punching the goon in his face. The rest of them were all sorted away by Chotu's ace gulel and Bazigar.
"How dare you!" She grabbed his coat's collar.
He smiled at her worried face. "Aisa sochna bhi mat!" She said, with a firm resolve.
Somewhere, he was happy about this side of hers.
"Total rubbish" he whispered in her ear playfully, making her blush, after which she straight away dragged him away towards the car, with Chotu and Bazigar in tow.
