Chapter 5

FEW  MONTHS  LATER 

Diwedi mansion

Prem was getting ready for his jogging that is when his phone rings which was  on bed he went and took the phone then saw the screen which was displaying unknown number... prem frowned little then with confusion he received the call as he was not knowing who will call him in early morning...

He answered the call " hello ...who is this.."

From otherside he heard a man laughing..

He found it little suspicious, he looked at screen with confusion thinking who it could be , he again asked " excuse me who are you ..."

This time that man answerd " ohhh no.. I thought you will recognize me but it seems you forgot me... I never thought you will ever forget me but see...how can you forget me so soon Mr Prem Diwedi.."

Prem mumbles " veeru..."

Veeru : areey waah ... you remembered me that's so good...

Prem became angry as he recognized him as veeru with anger he says " why you have called now last time was not enough you want more or what.."

Veeru Cooley answered " areey Prem my friend why are you getting angry.."

Prem anger went on peak as he heard ' my friend ' from him , his mind travelled into the past when Prem and veeru used to be best friend but today the best enemy , prem replied " friend or you ...never veeru you were never we are just enemies... just enemies.." Prem roared making veeru flinch on his voice...

Veeru : did you forgot Prem once we used to stay together , play together and sometimes you used to stay in my house or sometime I in yours ...

Prem clutched his fist tightly as veeru was reminding him of past making him angry more...as prem remembers the past he was unable to control his emotions and roared again " shut up ...just shut up ...what do you want and why are you calling me ..."

Veeru smiled hearing frustrated voice of prem and he said " Prem why can't we renew our friendship again ..leave all this enmity and stay together..then we can rule over whole Delhi and soon to whole country what say.."

Prem : why suddenly you remembered me and wanted to renew our friendship ....ohhh I see as you are alone that's why asking for my help right... I really felt very bad to hear that your father is in prison and your little brother vivan ...so sad to hear that he died in young age.. I will pray for God to send him in hell because he deserves that only , you know what veeru I am so happy to know that he died he had played with so many girls now life played with him ...and waiting to hear the news that veeru also died...

As prem completes he was about to cut the phone but stopped hearing...

" I'm going to repeat the history.."

Prem's hand got freezed after hearing these words from veeru , he started shivering thinking about the past and about those words, he wasn't able to understand what veeru meant by this , what he means by ' repeating the history '..with shaky voice Prem asked " what do you mean.."

Veeru with a determined voice spoke " I am going to do the same thing what happened years ago when you were 14 yrs old ... you remember or not.."

Prem became imbalanced hearing veeru's words involuntary he sat on bed , his hand became chill and he clutches bedsheet tightly , his breathing became uneven making his heart to breath faster but still to satisfy the need for oxygen he started breathing from mouth , his face was covered by sweat as the scene from past was coming in front of him one by one making tears to come out of his eyes which he had locked inside him for years but today he himself is unable to control them as veeru's talk is provoking them to fall out of him.... simar was down in the kitchen Making breakfast with Priya , Jamanlal and Meena were in garden having a light morning walk and as always Arun was still sleeping so no one was around prem to see how broken he is...

Veeru didn't got any answers from Prem then he asked " what happened prem ... should I remind you or directly show you today..."

Prem Started taking long breaths trying to calm him and asked " what will you do..?? Do you think I will let you do anything to my family "

Veeru : don't you know prem my plan never fails like that time... and today I will kill your brother , I know you both go for jogging in morning everyday and my men are waiting for him in the way... you keep thinking where they will be... you can't find them but your brother's dead body beside you..

Prem's grip around phone became tight as he heard Arun's name and got to know that his life is in danger but still he behaves as confident and says " ohh really ... I don't think so... you can't even touch him.."

But veeru seems not to be affected by this and he again Said " after years everyone will see Prem Diwedi crying... The great Prem Diwedi who didn't gets afraid of anything is crying because.. because he is unable to save his younger brother...so sad of him.. I can imagine you are crying hugging Arun's dead body same as you did last time , no yarr that time you was kid but now you are 32 yrs old .. then how will you cry ..hey I forgot why will you cry when he is not your brother..

Prem became furious hearing this and shouted " veerrruuuu...dare you say that.."

Veeru : ohhh ho why are you shouting I can hear normally too there is no need to shout..and by the way what I said is true only he is not your brother ...he is the same one which you saved from coming down the truck back then and failed my plan right...

Prem was silent and remembered the moment when he saw one year old Arun was kept on road by veeru's men to smash him down because he was the last member left in that family which they have killed recently and thought remove every trace of it including this child too but Prem who always try to fail veeru's every plan after getting betrayed by him , he saw this and saved the baby then brought him to his house and they adopted him as their second son..

Prem : you can't do that ...when I haven't let you do anything to him that time then how can you think I will let you do that now..

Veeru : did Arun know this.. I think no..hey it will be fun naa when he will get to know that this family is not his , how will be his reaction great naa...

Prem : stop your nonsense and Don't you dare to think that I will get afraid of your threat ....and then prem cuts the call , he went to washroom and washed his face then looked into the mirror and said " no Prem...no ..you can't be weak .. you have to be strong , just don't think about all those then they won't haunt you ..be strong , it was your past and you can't do anything with it so just forget it that will be better for you ... you have decided right that your past will never disturb you then what Happened now ...just forget everything and that veeru I won't let him repeat the history , this time not for sure..he doesn't know that I play every relationship very honestly wether it's friendship or enmity , once you have seen me as friend but now will see me as enemy..and about Arun do you think you can do anything  to him .. I am not the same Prem which you know earlier .. I am changed and this change will be harder to handle..." 

He came out of washroom and wiped his face with towel and started thinking how to stop Arun from coming for jogging as he doesn't want to take any risk regarding his safety as he knows veeru can do anything and even he had told that he is targeting Arun..after measuring the length of the whole room number of times he comes out of room confirming what he should do and went down...

Prem enters the kitchen and saw Priya who was helping simar , they have asked Priya to concentrate on her studies but now she helps simar in her work as she is pregnant ...he asked from Priya " Priya where is Arun.."

Priya : good morning bhaiya...

Prem : good morning but tell me where is he..

Priya looked at simar as she knows that Arun is still sleeping and if Prem gets to know then it won't be good for him.. simar understood by her look that Arun is still sleeping so she tried to change the topic " uhh.. Prem I want to talk something from you..come with me ..."

Prem sensed that they are trying to hide something and because of confusion he asked " Arun is still sleeping.." horror striked there face when prem said this and looking at there expression prem confirms that he is right and then he went from there saying " I will see to him .."

ARUN'S ROOM

Prem opened the door slightly and went inside without making any noise , he looked at Arun who was sleeping peacefully clutching blanket in his hand... it's his habit to hold something while sleeping which makes him remember the moment of his childhood...

Arun was two years old , it was prem who take care of every single thing of Arun from sleeping to food everything and till now Arun too was habituate by the presence of Prem, he always sleeps only when prem makes him to sleep otherwise no...

It was a time when prem was stuck in work and was unable to go to Arun , Meena tried alot to make him sleep but Arun was too adamant and was wailing showing door asking for Prem but there was no trace of him...after sometime when prem remembered that Arun will be waiting for him , he left everything and went to Arun, as he entered the room Arun cried loudly seeing him and stretched his arms asking prem to take him up...

Prem immediately took him in his arms as soon as Arun puts his head on prem's chest he clutches prem's shirt tightly in his little hand and pushed himself more in his chest and was sobbing , prem kissed his head and started caressing his back and said " sorry beta .. I won't do next time ..sorry " then took him to balcony and showed him the stars to stop his cry , he stayed there itself until Arun falls asleep...

When Arun slept he went inside and puts him on bed and found him clutching his shirt , he tries to take it out but as he removes Arun's hand from his shirt he starts crying , prem tried for sometime and at last he left trying as Arun wakes up again and again when he takes his shirt off from his hold...he too slept with him that night but later he found a solution for this , whenever Prem have to go leaving sleeping Arun he used to make him hold his kerchief at the place of shirt and wait for a minute confirming he slept ...and till today he didn't left his habit of holding something while sleeping....

Prem was staring at him and smiled while remembering about this then he went to him and sat beside him , he caressed his hairs lovingly...prem kissed his forehead and said " I will never let anything happen to you... I promise .."

Prem then tapping Arun's cheek says " Arun get up.. Arun.."

Arun was still in sleep and didn't noticed that it's prem and he shoved his hand and started sleeping again saying " let me sleep yarrr.. you know Mr khadoos will not let me to sleep even when today is holiday.."

Prem raised his eyebrows hearing this and this time he shaked him holding his shoulders and said " Arun..."

Arun opened his eyes and took the pillow from side to beat the one who is waking him up but was stopped after seeing the person is Prem... his eyes go wide in horror , he was looking at prem as if he has seen any ghost , pillow fell from his hand unknown to him ..he gulped seeing prem looking at him raising his eyebrows...

Prem with stern face says " you was about to do something..." 

Arun nodded no immediately and was scolding himself saying " idiot ... can't you see who is here was going to beat a lion, now don't Know what he will do and over that I called him Mr khadoos too..oh God please save me...please , please do some miracle save me I promise I will wake up early in the morning but please save me this Time.."

Prem took his hand near Arun's face making him fear more , Arun closed his eyes tightly thinking now he is gone prem will beat him but he found prem was ruffling his hairs which shocked him to the core he opened his eyes to see what happened...

Prem smiled seeing his reactions and said " you want to sleep more ...( Arun was blinking his eyes then he rubbed his eyes to make the vision clear as he was not sure that it is really prem who is smiling and also asking him like this ) if you want you can sleep as today is last day and from tommorow college will be opened so you won't get time..."

Arun exhaled and looked at prem continuously without blink and also his mouth was wide open to see him like that , it was the first time in his life prem is not angry and also asking him to sleep more...

Arun was still sitting in shock without doing anything prem took his hand and puts it on Arun's chin then closed his mouth and made him lay down on bed all the while Arun was behaving like a statue who was totally under prem's control.. after that prem covered him with blanket and this time he gave his hand to hold while sleeping and from other hand was caressing his head... Arun was still in shock and was looking at prem trying to recognize who he is after few minutes Prem left the room and went down ...

Simar and Priya was waiting for Arun as he will come to simar for complaining that Prem scolded him but to there surprise prem comes down alone...he was about to go for jogging but was stopped seeing Arun running down very fastly and stopped near simar and asked " who is he...?? "

Jamanlal who was sipping his tea looked at him furrowing his eyebrows , Meena who was pouring water for herself stopped in middle hearing his question and looked at him amused , simar and Priya looked at him like is he gone mad asking about his brother who is he and prem he was trying to control his laugh seeing everyone's face but showed neutral outside...

Simar replied checking Arun's temperature " he is your brother idiot..what happened to you"

Amar holds simar's hand and said " no he is not ..you know he didn't scold me and even asked me to sleep if I want.."

Everyone was shocked to hear this as prem always wants everything to be perfect and he gets angry if things doesn't go as per his wish but today it was unable for them to believe , they were looking at prem being amused...

Prem looked everyone and said " what..he asked to sleep more so I allowed why are you all looking at me like this... Arun you only said 'let me sleep yarrr..' and I am doing that only letting you to sleep ...ok I am going for jogging if you want you can join me and if not you can stay ..."

As he completes his words jamanlal spit out the tea in shock and Meena unknowingly dropped the glass down , simar and Priya was not knowing what to say they have never seen prem being this much sweet ...and Arun he shouted " no .. I told you right ..he is not my bhaiya , he is someone else ..." At that moment power wents off and Arun screamed again " ghost.. ghost he is ghost , he is not my brother see light too went .."

Prem laughed historically listening Arun's childish talk and moved towards him but before that Arun fainted seeing prem coming towards him , his mind didn't supported him to handle this much of shock in one day so he fainted ...prem took him to his room and layed him down on his bed and told Priya to take care of him , she just nodded as she too was unable to bear too sweet nature of prem...

Jamanlal in shock asked to Meena " he is our prem only right .."

Meena with confusion said " don't know maybe.." 

Prem looked at them and they just left from there to hide from him ..simar comes near him and asked softly " is everything okay..is any problem there .." 

Prem replied without meeting his eyes with her " yeah .. everything is fine , take care of him , I will call for electrician to check what happened to lights ... I will be back after jogging.."

Prem went from there after calling for an electrician..he went out then looked back at Arun's window and thought " this was the only way I can stop him in the house , I know that everyone will be shocked to see me like this and moreover lights too went on perfect timing well I was not thinking he will faint for this little thing , he is still a kid and I will not let any pain touch to him " prem giving a last look to Arun's room he went for jogging...

A man comes to Diwedi mansion dressed like electrician and was trying to hide his face with the cap and was looking little suspicious , he pressed the doorbell and looked here and there to confirm is anyone around...simar opens the door and asks him to come after enquiring that he is an electrician sent by Prem..she showed him the electric meter and was staying there looking at his work ...that electrician was looking for simar to go but she wasn't going he looked to meter it was nothing but just a mcb was down due to high voltage electricity nothing else but he told " mam actually ... I have to check whole wiring can't say from here it looks like there is a spark in between any wire " 

Simar nodded and allowed him to check the wiring and she went for her work as it will take time to check..as she went he called to someone and told " Bhai , I entered the house it will take almost an hour can you hold prem outside.." then he started doing his work for what he entered house...

Prem was in his way to house that is when he was attacked by some goons , they looks like professional and trained in fighting they were eight in numbers and prem was alone but still was trying his best to handle them one of them came from back and attacked prem , it can be clearly seen that they are just there to engage prem in fight they were not hitting him in actual but prem he almost killed them after sometime they left from there and prem went to home thinking he did right by keeping Arun at home...

As prem entered the mansion he saw electrician going out he stopped him and asked for the problem ...

Electrician : sir it was nothing just wire got sparked due to high voltage and detached from it causing no supply further that's it...he replied fastly not giving time for prem to understand what he is saying and went from there after going out he calls again and said " Bhai work is done I have fixed the cameras in the house and in evening our girl will enter the house , prem will be behind saving his brother thinking he is the target and will concentrate on him but our Target will be Priya and prem will not know that we are having eye on his Every actions..."

EVENING

A girl was running on the empty road some goons were following her , she runs towards the Diwedi mansion and entered into it to save herself ..she presses the doorbell continuously and was knocking on the door asking to open it... Prem opens the door and looked at the girl she was having a bag in her left hand and a pot Which was holding a white rose plant in it..she was wearing a denim and crop top with open hair slight makeup , her face was showing fear she was looking back again and again confirming no one is coming , she didn't noticed that door is opened so without turning she again tried to knock the door but her hand landed on prem's chest she got shocked to feel that it's not door and looked towards prem with fear...

Prem was pissed off by her continuous knocking but seeing fear on her face politely asked " who are you and why you came here.."

Girl : sir please sir ..sir save me sir ..some goons are chasing me I was lost from my path and looked this house's gate opened so entered ....sorry sir but please save me sir..

Prem looked at her and then towards his main door and called his security and ordered him to see for goons and if found then handover them to police then he asked the girl to enter , he helped her with her bags and they both entered the house , while entering that girl messaged someone which reads ' Bhai I entered the house will give you a good news of our success shortly... ' 

Everyone looked at the girl with confusion and then looked at prem ...simar comes forward and asked " who is she ..."

Prem shrugged his shoulder as if don't know and then told why he took her inside...

Simar went to girl and asked " are you ok , did they do anything to you..."

Girl nodded no and asks " can I have water.."

Priya said " yes " and went to take water for her...

Meena asked her to sit ...the girl sits on the sofa and then looked at Meena as if asking where should she put her flower pot...prem noticed it and took it from her then safely puts it on the table , Priya was back with water and she forwarded the water to her after drinking the water girl said " thank you so much for your help , I was afraid that I won't be able to save myself..."

Prem : that's ok no need to thank but what were you doing alone in the street this time..

Girl : actually I am new here and today only came to Delhi for study..

Prem : ohh..no one came to pick you up..

Girl : my family doesn't live here infact I elope from the house...

Arun found it interesting and asked with excitement " why..."

Girl : woh actually my step mom was forcing me for marriage so my dad helped me to elope as I wanted to complete my study and stand on my own....

Prem : ohh... that's good your dad is supporting you ,  by the way Which college you chosed...

Girl : JMC college...

Prem furrowing his eyebrows asked her name as he don't know his college is taking a new admission...
