MACRO LEVEL OVERVIEW

"When everything you love has been stolen from you, sometimes all you have left is revenge.Sometimes, the innocent get hurt. But one by one, the guilty will pay."

Nothing ever goes exactly as you expect. And the stakes are life and death. Collateral damage is inescapable."

~ Emily Thorne (Revenge, TV drama series) ~

One crime, not even considered as one by some, perpetrated in the mists of the night and buried in the sands of time.An evil enacted when the laws were bent and justice subverted. A sin that was committed when people turned a blind eye, pleaded helplessness and simply continued with their lives as though it was just a tiny wrinkle in their world.

A deed that claimed an innocent life.

One that resulted in prosperity and success for a few and ignited the flames of revenge in another, even as the rest continued with their lives, the memories of that deed apparently forgotten. But even if the deeds and people are forgotten, shadows remain and ripples are created.Shadows that would blight some lives, ripples that would tear others, shadows that were now to set to alter the lives of all and rip them in ways that none could imagine.

For though they continued with their lives, none seemed aware that time was the most powerful of all and that even the best intentions fail. For intent is one thing and fate is another, when the two do not coincide, there is a conflict of interests. When interests collide and actions clash; it is war. And now, as was then, as is always, it is the innocent who would pay the price.

"Destiny...to believe that a life is meant for a single purpose, one must also believe in a common fate. Father to daughter, brother to sister, mother to child, blood ties can be as unyielding as they are eternal. But it is our bonds of choice that truly light the road we travel- love versus hatred... loyalty against betrayal. A person's true destiny can only be revealed at the end of his journey."

~Emily Thorne (Revenge, TV drama series) ~

They were the heirs, to the empire and the wealth, to the victory and the vengeance. The innocent, ignorant of the dark secrets the past held, unaware of the storm which would soon be unleashed on them and oblivious to the fact that the life as they knew would soon be turned upside down.

For all of them were prisoners of their birth.

One was trained for revenge and poised to wreck ruin. One was unwanted, treated as a curse and another was loved beyond measure, considered a blessing. One proficient but unwilling to take up the reins of the empire and labelled as a rebel. And yet another, who though ambitious, would follow none but the rebel. One regarded as just a good human but branded a failure. And the final one, bestowed with every possible joy and adored by all.

Each one of them would pay the price. All would lose something. Some would lose everything.

And one would die.

But they could still emerge victorious,if only they dared to love and trust ...

"Trust is a difficult thing, whether it's finding the right people to trust...Or trusting the right people will do the wrong thing. But trusting your heart...is the riskiest thing of all. In the end, the only person we can truly trust... is ourselves."

~Emily Thorne (Revenge, TV drama series) ~

It is said that love can blossom anywhere, there is never a fixed moment when it takes root or a specific instant that it finds a hold on you.

But love cannot bloom when you are surrounded by the mists of doubt and plagued by winds of mistrust. For love cannot exist without trust. One can love the person whom you trust but it is not necessary that you can trust the person you love.

Nor can love find a foothold when you are losing a grip on the world around you. When you do not know who you are and fear that learning what you were could destroy you, the conflict within you itself threatens to break you apart.

Could love survive the onslaught of fond remembrances and forgotten memories? It would be a perpetual struggle between what you want to remember and what refuses to stay forgotten, an internal strife between what the mind wants to hold on to and what the heart wishes to give up.

For the greatest battle in not the one fought in battle fields or in boardrooms, it is the constant battle within us,with our demons. For the true battles are those between love and trust, heart and mind, duty and dreams, hope and reality.

Who would lose as the wheel of time spins and  who would win as the cycle of time turns, only time would tell...
