Prologue

I don't know how long I have slept or should I say I havebeen unconscious, probably more than a month. And when, I opened my eyes, I sawan unfamiliar room. The walls were all white in colour, the furnitures, whiteand gray. There was a window, which was open and I could see the sky. I lookedthe other way and saw the IV attached to my vein. I moved my hand withdifficulty when I realized I was in a hospital. I closed my eyes to recollectwhy I was there? And very slowly every scene flashed inside my brain.

We were going out for dinner. It was my baby's 1stbirthday, Rhea, my sweetheart, my life. She was seated on her mother's laptrying to get my attention. Every one minute she was trying to come in my lap.She was a daddy's girl in true sense. And then everything became blur whensuddenly I heard Natasha's scream. Before I could anticipate I saw a huge truckcoming right in front of us. The way the truck was approaching I could make outthat there was some issues with the break. The Truck wobbled from one side tothe other. I tried to control our car and then I had to take the most importantdecision of my life. The truck was about to hit the left side of the car where mybaby and Natasha sat. I turned the car to my side to take the impact on myself.The Truck hit my side with force. The car went on spinning till it hit a tree.The window of the car broke and then I could only see blood. I could stillremember Natasha screaming. Her left side hand was bleeding but with her righthand she was shaking Rhea. To my horror I saw her tiny head on my lap. My legwas stuck in between the door so I could not move. I know my head got injuredbrutally since I could clearly feel my vision go blur. I tried to blink backand focus, tried to reach my baby.

The 911 almost arrived immediately. I asked them to saveNatasha and my baby first. But as they were towards the tree area they tried totake me out first but I requested them to take my baby first. They took her outfrom my lap. Then I felt myself dragged out of the car.

Her tiny body lay limp on the stretched. Some of the expertstried CPR on her. I saw, she wasnot responding and I knew right then that shecouldnot make it because my heart stopped. I couldn't breath. I was sinking andthen everything became black.
