"Zaroon."

She entered their room calling out his name.

"Main ander hoon. Ek minute"

He said while coming out of the washroom while getting into his blazer.

"Woh maine Farzana se tumhara breakfast banwa diya hai tum kaho toh upar hi mangwa doon."

She asked while opening her closet.

"Nahi jab tak woh upar layegi mujhe dair hojayegi joh already ho rahi hai."

He said checking his watch. Today Zaroon had to attend a meeting with a client and hence he had to go for work early.

"Theek hai magar ab tum bina khaye mat chale jana."

She said turning towards him and glaring at him because she knows how he always tries to skip breakfast by making excuses.

Picking up his bag, he moved towards her and pulled her towards him and rested his hands on her waist

"Mujhe kya tumse darr nahi lagta jo tumhare directive ko main ignore karunga?"

"Mujhse darr lagta hai tumhe? Subah subah bhadda maza shuru hogaya tumhara."

She said rolling her eyes.

"Acha agar darta nahi na toh kya phir tumhari baatein sunta phirta?"

He said teasing her.

"Woh tum darte nahi ho woh toh bas tum Pya..."

She stopped in between and to divert the attention she said

"Acha ab kya tumhe dair nahi ho rahi?"

"Nahi ab toh jab tak tum apna sentence complete nahi karogi main nahi jane wala. Woh kya keh rahi thi tum? Mujhe tumse darr nahi lagta par main tumhari baatein tumhare Py..."

Before he could complete it, she placed her palm on his mouth and pushed him away causing him to loosen his grip on her.

"Tumhara pata nahi mujhe ab dair ho rahi hai."

She said moving away but Zaroon was in no mood to leave the opportunity today.

"Bol bhi do Kashaf isme itna embarrass hone wali koi baat nahi hai. Kasam se joh bhi kahogi woh sach hi hoga."

He said pulling her close once again.

"Acha toh woh main yeh keh rahi thi ki tum meri baat isliye manoge kyu ki tum bilkul pagal ho. Hai na yeh kadwa sach?"

She said giggling.

Laughing at her instant alteration, he said

"Isi pagal ko tumhe ab bardasht karna hai unfortunately."

"Woh toh hai."

She said pretending to be really worried about it.

With smile still lingering on his face, he bent forward and kissed her cheeks before bidding her a good bye.

Zaroon was sitting in his cabin when Kashaf knocked.

"Do you have a minute?"

She inquired.

"Please come in."

He said still focusing on his laptop screen.

"Ap log yeh suggestions ke hisab se changes kar dein aur jald se jald mujhe mail kar dijiyega."

He ordered the two men sitting opposite him.

"Yes sir."

Saying this the two left.

"Ander bhi ajao ab."

He said to Kashaf who was still standing near the door.

"Haan woh maine tumhe kuch files mail kiye hai tum please check kar ke bata do agar tumhe aur kuch chahiye kyun ki main nikal rahi hoon kuch 10 minutes mein."

She said moving towards the table.

"Nikal rahi ho? Abhi toh bas 4 baje hai."

He said checking the clock.

"Haan woh actually Sidra ki call ayi thi woh kuch dair mein ghar arahi hai. To maine socha ki chali jaun uske ane se pehle. Bohot din hogye usse mile. Waise bhi ain mauke pe tumhare tarah be fazul ke kaam main le kar nahi baith jati."

She said mocking him.

"Umm..waise mujhe bhi zada kaam nahi hai agar tum kuch dair wait kar lo toh ekhatte nikalte hai?"

He said flipping through the files kept on his desk.

"Theek hai but please make it quick."

She said leaving his cabin.

Sidra had already reached the house. Sidra and Sara had developed quite a bond over the course of Zaroon and Kashaf's wedding functions and hence the two had decided to go shopping together for their friend's wedding which was due next week.

"Ap logo ne toh jaldi nahi ana tha?"

Sidra said sarcastically while looking at Zaroon and Kashaf who had just entered through the door.

"Haan ana toh tha aur main toh farigh bhi ho gayi thi bas Zaroon ke 5 minutes ke chakaro mein dair hogayi."

She said sighing and giving a look to Zaroon who simply gave an apologetic smile to her.

"Chalein koi baat nahi. Kabhi kabhi intezar bhi bura nahi lagta. Baithe na ap log."

Sidra said.

"Haan. Main yeh cheezein rakh ke ata hoon upar ap log baatein karein."

He said taking Kashaf's bag from her hand and moving upstairs.

"Gaye nahi abhi tak tumlog? Maine toh socha tha abhi tak tumlog wapas ane wale hoge."

Ghazala asked while entering.

"Nahi kaha apke bete aur bahu ne ane me jo dair laga di."

Sara said chuckling.

"Tum logo ne kahi jana tha?"

Zaroon inquired while sitting next to Kashaf.

"Haan woh Farha hai na meri friend uski shadi hai next week toh uske liye kuch shopping karni thi hum dono ne."

Sara explained.

"Sidra tum bhi Farha ko janti ho?"

Zaroon asked a little surprised.

"Haan Farha aur main ek hi coaching classes jaya karte the."

Sidra said smiling.

"Toh tumlog chale kyun nahi gaye?"

Kashaf asked.

"Ah. Kyun ki maine hi kaha tha inhe ki woh tumhe bhi saath le jaye aur kuch shopping kara de."

Ghazala spoke.

"Mujhe? Mujhe toh nahi karni koi shopping. Mere toh shadi ke kapde hi maine sare nahi pehne."

Kashaf tried reasoning.

"Ladkiyon ko kapde kabhi zyada lagte hai kya? Bilkul tum jao inlogo ke sath aur meri taraf se is ko kuch ache jode dila dena. Main chalti hoon filhal mujhe ek friend se milne jana hai."

Ghazala instructed Sara and left bidding all of them good bye.

"Waise Farha kya Naseem se hi shaadi kar rahi hai?"

Zaroon asked.

"Haan bhai toh aur kisse karegi. Badi grand wedding organise ki hai unlogo ne. Haldi, Mehandi, Sangeet, Shadi , Waleema sab 5 stars me rakh waye hai aur phir ek mahine ke honeymoon par ja rahe hai."

Sara said excited.

"Lo matlab tumlogo ne bhi 5 jode kharidne hai aur 5 din ki lambi chutti leleni hai. Waise ek mahina ka honeymoon? Kahi honeymoon pe bhi events toh nahi rakhe hai aur logo ko invite karne ka soch rahe ho. Bata dena kahi vise ka masla hi na ho jaye tumhara."

Zaroon said laughing.

"Very funny."

Sara rolled her eyes.

"Iski baat ko ignore karo Sara use toh adat hai dusron ka mazak udane ki. Waise kaha kaha kaha ja rahe hai?"

Kashaf asked excited.

"America ja rahe hai I think."

Sidra said.

"Acha mere upar tanz karne se sukoon mila ho to tumlog tayar ho jao. Already kafi late ho chuka hai tumlogo ko nikalna chahye."

Zaroon said while stretching his leg and pulling a cushion to get comfortable.

"Tum aisi harkatein hi na karo toh hum tumpe tanz nahi karenge."

She said glaring.

"Ati hoon main panch minute mein."

She told the two.

"Acha toh phir kya socha hai Zaroon?"

Sara said sitting next to him.

"Kis bare me?"

He questioned while switching the channels.

Sara and Sidra gave each other a look as they were quite surprised by his reaction.

"Kis bare me kya matlab? Kashaf ki birthday hai tumhe yaad nahi kya?"

Sara asked snatching the remote from his hand.

Zaroon, who had completely forgotten about his wife's birthday, straightened immediately.

"Kashaf ki birthday hai?"

He asked Sidra.

"Toh main kya jhut bol rahi hoon tumse?"

Sara said irritated.

"Haan iss Sunday hai uski birthday. Apko nahi bataya kya usne?"

Sidra informed him smiling at his reaction.

"Kashaf kuch batati hai kya?"

He said scratching his head.

"Toh kuch cheezein bina bataye bhi malum honi chahiye insan ko."

Sara said sarcastically.

"Kaha toh bohot khoob hai magar pehle batana tha."

He said now biting his nails.

"Kitne ungrateful ho tum. Abhi bhi humne hi bataya hai tumhe."

"Acha acha ab please ladein mat. Zaroon bhai ap bas ab kuch acha se soch lein Kashaf ke liye. Woh hume kabhi apna birthday nahi manane deti hai. Is bar ap use kuch acha sa surprise dijiyega."

Sidra said trying to ease the situation.

"Tumlog ladh rahe the kya?"

Kashaf said entering the room.

"Nahi bas aise hi."

Sara said getting up.

"Chalo chalte hai isse pehle dukane hi band hojaye."

Kashaf said while moving towards the door.

While the three left, Zaroon sat there thinking what he could possibly gift his wife. But very soon he had an idea. Since it was going to be hard to implement because of the lack of time, he began preparing for it right then.

Kashaf returned home late. To her surprise Zaroon had neither called her nor messaged her. It seemed he wasn't bothered today because usually he keeps irritating her while she is away. When she entered the room, it was dark. He wasn't there. After changing, she moved towards the study to check if he was there. She knocked on the door.

"Kaun hai? Ajao ander"

He said pausing his call.

Kashaf entered with a smile. He smiled back but requested her to wait a bit through his gestures.

"Main todhi dair main ata hoon room mein."

He said with a tone which made Kashaf feel unwanted.

"Sure."

She said being taken aback.

She moved towards her room and shoved the packets she had got inside the almirah, which a while ago she was excited to show him, and went to sleep in annoyance.

Zaroon realised that he had upset his wife. He didn't want to. But he had no option if he had to keep his doings a secret.

In the morning, Zaroon moved downstairs to look for Kashaf thinking she must be in the kitchen but she wasn't to his surprise. Ghazala who was in the kitchen noticed Zaroon's presence and disappointment on not finding Kashaf.

"Woh Kashaf ne mujhe kaha tha tumhe bata doon. Uski koi emergency meeting call hogayi thi toh woh dad ke sath hi jaldi nikal gayi hai. Tum kal late tak study me the toh wo tumhe utha kar disturb nahi karna chah rahi thi."

Ghazala informed him.

"Acha."

He said picking up a glass of water from the table.

"Tum bhi ab tayar hojao. Main nashta bas bana chuki."

"Ji."

Saying this he went upstairs to get ready.

Kashaf was busy in her office the entire time and had not even come out to bug him for lunch. Zaroon, who was wondering if his wife was angry, moved towards her cabin.

"Ajaun?"

He inquired peeping through the half open door.

"Ajayein."

Kashaf said while examining some files.

"Aaj toh bohot masroof ho."

He said pulling the chair and sitting down.

"Haan kabhi kabhi mujhe bhi masroofiat hojati hai."

Sensing sarcasm and anger in her tone, he spoke

"Tum kya khafa ho mujhse?"

"Nahi main kyun khafa hone lagi?"

She asked now shifting her eyes towards him and resting on her seat.

"Nahi. Tum aise toh kabhi mujhe inform kiye bina subah nahi chali ati. Aur aaj toh tum mujhe lunch ke liye bhi bulane nahi ayi."

"Haan toh tum kal thak gaye hoge. Bohot busy the tum raat me. Isliye maine tumhe pareshan nahi kiya. Aur lunch toh maine bhi nahi kiya hai."

"Toh chalo kar lete hai. Zoron ki bhook lagi hai mujhe."

He said sneezing.

"Nazla hua hai tumhe?"

She asked concerned.

"Haan. Shayad."

"Dawa toh nahi li hogi?"

She said getting annoyed at her husband's carelessness.

Noticing his husband's expression which clearly told her that he was guilty she picked up her phone. After hanging up

, she said

"Chinese order kar di hai maine. Kha kar mere pas jo dawai rakhi hai use kha lena. Aur phir chup chap ghar chale jana."

She ordered.

"Tum nahi chalogi kya saath?"

"Chalti agar itni masroof nahi hoti toh. Waise bhi ghar pe tumhari care karne wale log hai. Tumhe koi masla nahi hogi."

"Par tum toh nahi hogi na."

He said putting his head down on the table.

"Khair mere hone ya na hone se tumhe koi farq nahi parta."

She said coldly adjusting her dupatta.

"Farq parta toh hai tabhi keh raha hoon. Waise mera khayal sahi tha tum kal raat ki baat se khafa ho."

He said straightening up.

"Haan hoon."

She admitted.

"Na tumne mujhe ek call karne ki zehmat ki na tumhe khayal aya ki mujhe late hogaya thi ane me itni. Koi masla toh nahi hua. Wapas ane par bhi tumhe mere hone ya na hone se koi farq nahi para. Upar se khase rudeness ke saath mujhe jane ko bhi keh dia."

She looked at him with anger.

He melted at his wife's reaction. Unable to find words to apologise he fell silent for a second while she looked at his deep dark brown eyes demanding an explanation. Closing his eyes, he spoke

"Mera sach much tumhe hurt karne ka koi intention nahi tha magar main kuch aisa kar raha tha jo main filhal kisi se share nahi kar sakta. Main karna chahta hoon par har cheez ka ek sahi waqt hota hai. Jab woh ayega toh tumhe main bata dunga. I am extremely sorry Kashaf. I really didn't mean to be rude."

She didn't say anything. She simply took a deep breath and looked at him softly. He knew she had forgiven him.

In the night, Kashaf moved towards the closet to take out the packet she had got for him. She kept thinking about how irritated she was last night when he sent her off.

"Yeh lo tumhare liye Liya tha maine par ab sochti hoon tum yeh deserve hi nahi karte the."

She said throwing the packet at him.

"Yeh kya hai?"

He asked catching it.

"Khol kar khud dekh lo."

Opening the packet, he said

"Yeh toh meri favourite colour ki shirt hai. Kitni dhundi thi humne us din par mil hi nahi rahi thi. Tumhe kaha mili."

"Bas mil gayi."

She said sitting down on the bed.

"Tum abhi bhi khafa ho kya?"

He asked.

"Nahi toh. Bas soch rahi hoon ki kitne khudgarz hote ho tumlog. Humse toh expect karte ho hum tumhe sari cheezein batayein par khud secrets rakhne ke mahir hote ho."

Holding her hand, he said

"Trust me you won't be disappointed once you know it."

"I hope so."

She said and switched off the light.

"Acha toh achanak se tumhe kyu jana pad raha hai? Mujhe samjh nahi araha."

She asked him while packing his bag.

"Kya karoon majburi nahi hoti toh bilkul nahi jata. Par kal tak ki baat hai. Main raat ki flight se wapis ajaunga. Tum mujhe lene ajana Sara ke sath hum bahir dinner karne chalenge."

He said pulling her close.

"Theek hai magar tum mujhe updates dete rehna."

She said cupping his face and leaving a peck on his lips.

"Yes Boss."

He said pulling her in a hug.
