When Khushi Kumari Gupta was told Arnav Singh Raizada wanted to see her in his office, the only thing she wanted to do was run as fast as she could very far away from Lucknow. She didn't want to face that man ever again in her life, forget now. And that too just when she was beginning to forget her encounter with him as a bad nightmare.
The very thought of sitting across from him, in his own office made her break into a cold sweat. He had harassed her enough. What more did he want?
She received his invitation and politely told the messenger that she would not accept it. She would not visit him. The messenger considered resigning before delivering such news to ASR. No one said "No" to ASR.
"You don't know what he is capable of", he tried to reason with Khushi.
"I very well know what he is capable of," she replied. "I have borne his anger and I do not wish to ever meet such a heartless and cruel man ever again in my life.
"Please let him know that I do not wish to meet him, neither today, nor tomorrow, nor ever in my life. Now if you will please excuse me, I have a lot of work. I believe that even taking his name is a waste of time."
The messenger promptly conveyed Miss Gupta's views to ASR. ASR smirked. She was refusing to even meet him. This was going to be more fun than he had thought. He dialed a number on his speed dial "Aman, get D'Silva to get me as much information on one Mr Shashi Gupta who lives in Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar."
Two hours later, ASR had a 40 page file on his table titled Shashi Gupta. The file detailed all personal, professional and financial information of Shashi Gupta. He studied the file for 10 minutes and then photocopied two of the pages from the file, put them into a brown envelope and included a photograph and a note. He addressed the envelope to Khushi Kumari Gupta.
