Chapter 3

Old man: Ji unka naam hai Gaffur Ahmed Siddiqui

Asad could not breathe properly. He felt as though his lungs could not grab the oxygen anymore.

He felt like a thousand knives was pierceing his heart at the same time.

He started to reminisce all the time he shared with zoya.

All the time he almost lost her

The first time when akhram forced her, the incident at mangalpur where she was buried alive, the time when she was forcefully departed to newyork, the time when there was an electrical wire in her bath, when the chandlier almost fell on her.

All those time when  the fate was trying to take her away from him but still his love managed to get him every single time.

Although he did not acknowledge it to himself nor anyone else he knew that it was his love for her that couldn't let him move away from her. He started to ignore and hide his feelings for her all a long but time made him acknowledge and accept her. He knew eventhough she was not what he imagined for a life partner and started to ignore his instincts but his love strongly made him accept his love

And when finally he was beginining to do the same, the fate has to come and destroy everything.

He was brought back to reality by the old man

Old man: Saab agar aap batainge woh zoya kahan hai main unne yeh kabar dedungi

Asad: Ji aap jaye main unne sab bataougi khud. Shukriya. Khuda hafiz

Old man: Ji tik hai yeh lijiye tasverein main chalti hun namastey

He couldn't hold anymore. Tears started falling voluntarily.

Asad:Why allah why??? Why are you always taking the things that mean so much to me always. Pehle mere baap, phir ayaan and now zoya.

Kyun har baar aap mere saath aisa kiya apne??? mere abbu jaane ki baat maine kisi bhi cheese pe chaahat karna chodthiya tha. Apni zindagi mein aapne jo bhi kiya usko maine humesha qubool kiya. Ab jab pehli baar jab maine zoya ko chaaha usko bhi aap mujhse cheenrahiyo kyunnnnnnnnnnn. After a long thinking asad finally made his decision.

Tanveer who was witness to all this smirked wickedly.

Tanveer: Ro lo asad ro lo ab tumhe jitna ro na ab ro lo. Kyun ki iss sab ki peeche mere hi haath hai.

Bohot sochke maine yeh chaal chaliye hai. main jaanti hu sirf yehi hai waja jo tum dono ko alag kar sakthi hai. 

Ab mujhe maaf kardo razia bi tumhare kilaf jaana pada mujhe apni manzil tak pounchnekilye. 

She remembers how she took the photographs from zoya's room and arranged a random old guy by bribing him and sending him to lie to asad. 

Tanveer: Ahaan razia, apni manzil tak yeh hi raasta mujhe pouchaa sakthe, ab asad aur zoya ko koi nahi mila sakthe, woh khuda bhi nahi.

Jao asad jao ab mujhe jo karna ta woh tum karogi.

Meanwhile everyone was so ecstatic except for razia and gaffur. Razia, because she was so scared that gaffur would find out about zoya whereas Gaffur was irritated that he had to attend this nikkahh eventhough he didn't want to.

Apart from them everyone was genuinely happy for asad and zoya, including shireen.

Zoya's room was filled with the noises of girls giggling and laughing when zeenat came in. She was so happy that zoya finally got the one thing she always hoped for and felt she truly deserved.

Zeenat: Arree aree ladhiyan sirf haste rehne hai ya phir taiyaar bhi hona hai ki nahi.

Najma: Aapi zoya kabse taiyaar hai. I mean meri  bhabhijaan kabse taiyaar hai.

Zeenat got so emotional seeing zoya in the wedding attire. Although she has already seen her like that before this time she could sense her geniune happiness and eagerness for this nikkahh.

Meanwhile dilshad and ayaan went to bring asad down to nikkaah. When they knocked asad's room there was no reply.

Dilshad and ayaan became worried

Dilshaad: Asad, asad open the door. asad. Ayaan yeh kya hai woh awaaz nahi dehra hai ya allah kya ho sakthi hai

Ayaan: Bhaijaan, aap hai pls darwaza koliye

After some time they were worried and were about to call everyone. But asad shocked them and opened the door. As the door was opened they were shocked to see asad was ready.

Dilshaad: Kya hua asad tum taiyaar ho na then why didn't you open the door soon enough

Ayaan: Haan bhaijaan what happened were you day dreaming about your bride or what.

Dilshad laughed heartily but asad couldn't.

Dilshaad sensed something was wrong with asad seeing his face but she thought maybe he was nervous about this whole nikkah fiasco and also becaused of the fact that ayaan's family was here. She tried to calm him

Dilshaad: Don't worry asad everything will be ok.You will be the best husband a girl could have.

Both dilshaad and ayaan brought asad downstairs and made him sit on one side of the veil that was made for the nikaah. Dilshaad made ayaan sit with asad so that she could go and bring zoya down.

Asad sat there along with ayaan and everyone came and started wishing asad including rashid. All the while asad sat there with all kinds of bad feelings together and couldn't control it.

Dilshaad went to zoya's room and was so caught up in zoya's beauty.She immediately did her nazar uttaro and kissed zoya's forehead

Dilshaad: Pata hai zoya iss din keliye kitni intezaar kiya tha. Apni asad ki nikkaah liye. aaj jab woh sach me horaha I can't believe it. And that to with you.

 She became emotional and so did everyone in the room.

Dilshaad: Accha chalo der horahi hai. Tumhara miyan tumhariliye intezaar karaha hai neeche. Come

With that they brought zoya downstairs. Dilshaad and Zeenat were on either side of Zoya whereas the rest were holding the duppatta over the dulhan on four sides. She looked like a angel in her wedding attire. Everyone looked upto zoya and she felt no less than a princess. Even asad could not take his eyes from her. The way she looked today more like a beautiful angel made it even more difficult for him. Tears started to strike his eyes.

Zoya finally reached the other side of the veil. And so the men gathered in asad's side and the women in zoya's side.

Asad looked at zoya and she looked so ethereal. Ayaan was making fun of him. But he was not listening to any of it.

Same way the girls were making fun of zoya. And so the nikaah ceremony started. Everyone was so engrossed in the ceremony except for 

asad who couldn't get away from the words that kept on going in his mind. 

At a distance tanveer who was witnessing all this got really paranoid and irrated as to why asad has not stopped the nikkaah still.

The maulvi started the ceremony and everyone was indulged in it except for asad. When the maulvi started with the vow ritual, asad stood up from his place. The maulvi stopped his procedure. Everyone was worried as to why asad got up from his place. 

Dilshaad panicked and asked 

Dilshaad: Kya hua hai asad , kya bhaat jai

While everyone was looking curiously at asad he stayed quite. And then he moved to the other side  of the veil and spoke up

Asad: Ammi mujhe miss farooqui se kuch baat karni hai

Dilshaad: Kya baat hai asad. Kya woh baat itni important hai tumhe won baad mein bhi nahi kar sakthi thi.

Asad: Nahi ammi bohot hi important baat hai abhi karni padegi warna bohot baari padega hum sab ki zindagi ko

He ignored dilshaad protests and moved towards zoya and made her stand up from her place.

Asad: Miss farooqui mujhe aapse kuch batana hai. 

Zoya:Haan boliye Mr.Khan kya baat hai ( Zoya was worried to the core. Her voice trembled when when she spoke up)

Asad: Miss Farooqui I have found out about your dad

Hearing this everyone was so confused except for mumani who almost had an heart attack.

Zoya: Aap yeh kya bolrahiya hai Mr.Khan. Aap ko pata hai yeh mazak karne ka waqt nahi hai.

Dilshaad: Par asad zoya ki abbu to mar chuki hai na phir

Zoya: Haan Mr.Khan hum dono khud gayi thi us graveyard pe and you are saying all this

Asad: Nahi Miss Farooqui woh aapki abbu nahi hai kyun ki aapki abbu zinda hai

Hearing this zoya was son happy. 

Zoya: Bataye Mr.Khan woh kaun hai pls boliye Mr.Khan pls

Asad: Woh koi aur nahi Ms. Farooqui yeh hai. 

Saying so he pointed out to Gaffur

Asad:Gaffur Ahmed Siddqui

Everyone was shocked to the core hearing this including gaffur. Razia almost felt dead.

Zoya looked felt as though she had been sent to another universe.
