Part 9

 

A new day starts with the Sun rising and spreading its bright rays to all over the world. All were up by now but one soul is still in his dreamland... in his princess's dreamland... unaware about the world around him. He was smiling in his sleep.

 

The wind blow and the curtains flew with it and finally Sun rays came into the room and falls on his face. Irritates with it he hide his face in pillow which he was holding close to his heart as if holding HER. His irritation grew more when his phone starts ringing with alarm tone. He opened his eyes lazily and put the alarm off.

 

He sat on the bed with grumpy face as this stupid alarm has broken his dream in which he was seeing her and their happily ever after. A smile formed on her lips thinking about her and again he went zoned out in their little beautiful journey.

 

It's been a week when they confessed their feelings to each other. After that, everything was so beautiful.. just like a dream. Though, they decided to start it with friendship so it will give her time to know him better and understand him. He was sure about his feelings for her that he love her and even hers too but didn't want to rush into things, thus when she asked to be friends first, he couldn't deny her.

 

They talked regularly on phone and also met for once. He knew she won't be comfortable so he didn't force her to meet him again n again but he was happy that she was opening up to him.

 

He came out of his dreamland and grabbed his phone from night stand, after typing a message, sent her.

Taani was came out from washroom after taking shower and standing in front of mirror and drying her wet hair but her mind was somewhere else. She was continuously seeing behind towards her phone which was kept on bed and then sighed.

 

After some time she heard her phone beeped and she ran towards bed, grabbing her phone, she opened it.

 

"Good Morning, Taani."

 

A shy smile formed on her lips reading his message. It was a simple 'good morning' message but still it sent tingles in her veins. Her fingers worked on own accord as she typed the message and sent it.

He was waiting for her reply. After some moment his phone buzzed and he opened it.

 

"Good Morning, Reyansh."

 

A big smile took place on his lips when he read 'Reyansh'. He really likes when she calls him this.

"How's you?" she read.

"Good... and You?" he smiled reading it.

"More than Good." She smiled reading his reply. Her phone again beeped and she opened it.

 

"So.. what are you doing?" she read it.

 "Just getting ready for college." He read.

"Ahmm... so... any plans for today after college?" she read.

~

"Not really." He read.

 

"Can we meet today?" he typed and sent, with fingers crossed, hoping for positive reply.

 

He was waiting when his phone beeped and he opened it.

 

"Sure."

 

This one word made him super happy and did a happy dance on his bed, feeling like a teenage lover boy.

 

He sent her the message telling about the place.

She was confused what she reply when she read he wanted to meet her but then she give into his wish as she also wanted to meet him and said yes.

 

Her phone beeped and opened it.

 

"Ok, then... meet you in the evening, at the same cafe. Bye." She read and replied with ok.

 

Then she moved towards her cupboard with big smile to search for perfect dress as she wanted to look good in front of him.

He came out from his room after getting ready and descending down to dining area where his parents were sitting for having breakfast.

 

"Good Morning, Dad... Good Morning, Mom." He greeted them cheerfully, as he sat down on the chair.

 

"A very Good Morning, son." His parents replied as they look at their son who was smiling all the while and then looked at each other.

 

"Why are you smiling, son? I mean, any special reason." his father, Raj asked.

 

"Is it necessary to have a reason for a smile?" Rey questioned back while munching his sandwich.

 

"Not like that, but I have noticed that nowadays you smiles a lot, more precisely whenever you're alone and all the time were lost somewhere." Raj replied back looking at him, suspiciously. Rey stopped eating and gulped down.

 

"Aisa toh tabhi hota hai... jab koi pyaar mein ho." His dad said further with his assumption. Rey's eyes went wide hearing this.

 

"Kahin tumhari koi 'Girlfriend'.." Raj trailed off but stopped, when Rey start coughing, badly.

 

His mother ran to him and handed him a glass of water and he drank it while she was patting his back to make him calm.

 

"Easy son.." his father told him.

 

"W... what are you saying, dad?" Rey asked after sometime, still looking down. But before that his dad reply him, his mom interrupted them.

 

"Kya Raj ji, aap bhi na... agar Rey ki koi 'GIRLFRIEND' hoti toh wo hume jarur batata, hamse thode na chupata... hai na Rey." His mom, Simran said, defended him by taking his side. He looked at his mom who was looking at him expectantly. He gulped down nervously and gave a slight nod.

 

"Of course, mom." He replied in low tone, was feeling guilty for hiding this from his parents, with whom he shares everything.

 

"Dekha.. kaha tha na maine, Raj ji... hamara beta humse thode na chupayega." Simran told to her husband but her eyes were on Rey which was making him nervous.

 

"Anyways, just leave it. I have to talk to you... actually we both have to talk to you." His mom said again to Rey, making him came out of his trance. Rey looked up and nodded.

 

"Yes, mom." He said.

 

"Rey, you're 25 now and handling your dad's and your own business very well..." His mother started off. Rey looked at her confused but decided to wait for her to complete.

 

"... and now we both were thinking that, this is the right time for you... to get marry." His mother finished hopefully telling him their wish.

 

"What..?" Rey was shocked after what he had heard.

 

First, he was confused that how suddenly his parents want him to get married but then thinking about marriage the only image came in front of his eyes was hers and instantly a smile formed on his lips. But again there is a problem, neither he could tell about her to his parents nor he could force her for any relationship, at least not for now.

 

He came out of his thoughts when his mother called him.

 

"Rey, kahan kho gaye?" simran asked.

 

"K-kahin nahi, mom... but..." before he could say something his mother cut him off.

 

"You know, Rey... humne toh tumhare liye ladki bhi dund li hai." his mother told excitedly, dropping a bomb on his head.

 

"WHAT..?" Rey shouted in horror as he stood up from his seat.

 

His parents were looking at him, surprised at his loud reaction.

 

"Mom, what are you saying... ladki pasand kar li and all.." he said in disbelief, after coming out of the shock. He was shocked as well as upset that how his parents had chosen a girl for him without even his consent.

 

"Rey, first listen to us and then will react." His dad said calmly. Rey sighed and sat down not having any other option.

 

"Rey, she is one of my business associates' daughter. We know each other from some years. He is really a nice person and theirs' a very reputed family. I didn't meet his daughter but I had seen her photograph and also heard about her, she is really beautiful and perfect for you." His father explained him.

 

"Dad, whoever she is, but I'm not going to marry her." Rey denied clearly.

 

"But Rey, ek baar usse mil toh lo..." his mom interrupted.

 

"No Mom, I'm not going to meet any girl." he replied.

 

"But why..?... tum hi ne toh kaha ki tumhari koi girlfriend nahi hai, toh iss ladki se milne me kya problem hai. Maine uski photograph dekhi hai, she is really beautiful and Trust me Rey, she is perfect for you and our family." His mom tried to make him understand.

 

"Mom, woh ladki beautiful hogi and maybe perfect bhi, BUT... NOT FOR ME. And most importantly I'm not ready for marriage NOW." He said irritated with all this marriage drama.

 

"-And why suddenly you guys are so hell bent on my marriage topic. Isse pahle toh aap logon ne kabhi mujhe kisi baat ke liye force nahi kiya." He asked suspiciously, but was more confused that why they are so glued on this topic when they have given him every freedom to do anything and even choose any girl for himself, then what happen now.

 

"Because, hume laga tha ki tum khud hi koi ladki dund loge apne liye but aisa hua hi nahi to humne socha ye kaam hum hi kar dete hai, aur waise bhi tumhe kabhi na kabhi toh shadi karni hai na... toh why not NOW. Waise... tumhare dad unhe commit kar chuke hai ki aaj shaam ko hum unke yahan aa rahe hai unki beti se milne, so if you like it or not... tumhe hamare sath unke yahan jana padega." His mom declared with serious tone giving her son another shock.

 

"WHAT... I can't believe this... you had already decided everything without even my consent. How could you?" he asked bewildered, totally confused that his parents were forcing their decision on him.

 

"What do you mean by 'without your consent'? We are your parents, Rey, can't we have any right to decided or take any kind of decision regarding your life?" His mother asked in hurt tone and turned her face away, seeing which Rey felt guilty to talk to them like this.

 

He stood up from his seat and moved to his mom, he held her hands in his as he knelt down in front of her.

 

"No mom, mere kahne ka matlab woh nahi tha. I'm really sorry, mom." He apologized sincerely and cursing himself for upsetting his parents. His mom looked at him and sighed, knowing he didn't mean to hurt her or his father.

 

"...But you have to understand that I'm not ready for all this, at least not for now. I want to concentrate on my business right now. Please mom." He pleaded with soft tone hoping they would understand him and stop his marriage topic here only.

 

But he didn't know that his mom is not going to back off this time.

 

"No Rey, you've to understand this time. We have already taken this decision and if you love me and you dad then you have to fulfill our wish and if you denied then we'll understand, there is no place for us in your heart and life. Now decision is yours." His mother told in final tone, not leaving any room for him to argue. She stood up and left from there leaving shocked and confused Rey behind.

 

Rey looked towards his dad for help but he also shrugged his shoulders and left from there.

 

"WTH is happening.." he growled loudly in frustration.
