Chapter 10
Part – 9
At the expo….
Maan is busy receiving laurels from everyone, for the grand success of the Expo this year….
Mr. Sharma and Mr. Saxena are having a big argument about making Maan part of their family, there by making him their business partner…
Mr. Sharma: Payal has just returned from UK after finishing her MBA, the two of them(Maan and Payal) would be perfect partners both in business and life
Mr. Saxena: Rashi has already taken over the business and is equally good as Maan, they would rule the construction world together
Mr. Sharma: Rashi is too old for Maan
Mr. Saxena: Payal is no match for the mighty Maan Khurana
Mr. Sharma: let Maan decide that
Mr. Saxena: why Maan? Here’s Khurana sab, he knows what’s best for his son, haina Mr. Madan?
Maninder too wants to know what Madan has in mind…
Madan is a proud father…
Madan: as you all know, Maan always makes the best choices, so I’ll let him decide this one too, Afterall, it’s his life
The two gentlemen run after Maan hearing that…
Maninder finds it funny that these people are fighting over something that’s never going to happen, on the other hand Maninder can make it happen if only he wishes, haina?
Maninder wanted someone to take over the business like Maan has done, how lucky Madan is? If only Maninder had a son like Maan?
Even now Maninder can make Maan his business heir, if only he makes him his son-in-law, like Sharma and Saxena were planning…
Maan himself came to Maninder and so it’s just about Maninder’s wish…
But one thing is bothering Maninder since Maan told him about his wish…
Why does Maan want to marry Geet? What’s the reason?
Maan hardly knows Geet, then from where did such a desire arise?
Geet did go to KM for the party, but Maan is not the ordinary earnest bachelor to be falling for her beauty…
Then why?
Maninder goes and finds Maan….
Maninder: congrats Maan, this success belongs to you
Maan: thank you
Maninder: I always knew that you are a pacca business man, it’s not a small achievement, it’s huge
Maan: I’m a business man and that’s the only thing I know
Maninder: can I ask you something?
Maan: anything
Maninder: why Geet?
Maan looks at Maninder…
Maan: you mean the marriage?
Maninder: yes, why my daughter?
Maan: I never wanted to marry, Geet changed it, she is different, she supports Annie, she is unbiased, that’s when I decided that if at all Annie gets a babhi, it should only be someone who understands Annie
Maninder is surprised and happy that Maan speaks only the raw truth and likes his honesty….
Maninder is confident that Maan is a true gentleman, who has a better understanding of life than any of the Romeos…
Maninder comes to talk to Madan, and Madan is little nervous knowing about what’s going on…
But he doesn’t want to show that Maan has told him about the wedding to him already…
Then Mr. Handa would obviously expect him to initiate and not Maan himself…
Maninder: how are you Khurana ji?
Madan: I’m really happy
Maninder: you should be, Maan has made you proud
Madan: at least I am a lucky father when it comes to my son
Madan indicates Annie’s misfortunes….
Maninder: I wish I could be a happy father too one day
Madan: Geet would give all the happiness that you wish for, you need not worry about that
Maninder: how is Annie?
Madan: she is good
Maninder: have you thought about her future?
Madan: why? What about her future?
Maninder: don’t you think you should get her married to a good boy
Madan: it’s very difficult to find a good boy these days
Maninder: that’s true, it’s very tough to find a good boy for our daughters
Madan: are you looking for a boy for Geet?
Madan acts as if he is not aware of Maan’s proposal… he wants to know about Maninder’s plans…
Maninder: yes, since she returned we have been trying to find a good boy for her, but girls have a lot of expectations you know
Madan: what’s her expectations?
Maninder: God only knows, she keeps finding fault with everyone
Madan: that must be very hard, why don’t you talk to her and convince her?
Maninder: I don’t want to force things against her wishes
Madan: I understand, kids these days are really tough to understand, it’s impossible to even think about talking to Maan about marriage
Maninder: I wanted to talk to you about Maan
Madan: he is the talk of the town
Maninder: I don’t know if I should be talking to you about this before I talk to my family, Maan might not like it
Madan: what’s the matter? Aaise kya baat hai?
Maninder: Maan came to my office
Madan: ohh, then it must be about the business, then you shouldn’t be talking to me, I have almost retired, you can talk with Maan itself, he is the boss now
Maninder: it’s not about the business, it’s about the family
Madan: Maan came to about something other than business? Impossible
Maninder: have you thought about Maan’s marriage?
Madan: what? How could I think about that with Annie at home?
Maninder: but Maan has succeeded in business and is ready to succeed in personal life too, he needs to settle down too, he also has a life
Madan: I know
Maninder: that’s what Maan came to talk about
Madan: what? Maan came to you to talk about his personal life?
Maninder: not just about his life but about my daughter’s life too My
Madan: I don’t understand
Maninder: Maan wants to marry Geet
Madan pretends to be shocked…
Madan: that can’t be true
Maninder: yes, it is
Madan: what do you think about it?
Maninder: I don’t know
Madan: what do you want me to do? Talk to Maan and tell him that it’s wrong
Maninder: why is it wrong?
Madan: you should only tell
Maninder: I’m confused
Madan: take your time, I have no objection, Geet is a very good girl
Maninder: Maan is not a bad boy either, what should I do?
Madan: that’s for you to think and decide
Maninder: maybe I should talk to my family
Madan: that’s a good idea, I’ll be happy if this works out
Maninder: I’ll let you know
Madan: let that be a good news
