Edited:

How can i enter a mandir where Devi Maiyya is there and so are many Bhagwanji's. I mean all i wll think of is the hillarious conversations and comments that they make! Their plans of Vacations. Wah ji wah! Aajkal ke Modern Deities! ;)

while for Khushi, poor girl, not only she was proved wrong, but Payal didn't even say a sorry. I'm really worried for Payal's future Husband, pata nahi kya hoga bechare ka?

As for Shashi, truely its the Madhumati effect, not only he's become modern, but also very loud and dramatic.! Ah.. Old Love. :P[/QUOTE]

Chapter 15

LIFE IS A MELODRAMA
- SASI GUPTA

Arnav grinned, Khushi sighed not able to look away from his handsome face. What had he done to himself in these days? She thought as her swept over his form and he hurried his steps. They were in a trance when Khushi's back hit the wall and Arnav placed both his hands on either side of her, captivating her with his body, mind and eyes.

She gasped at the contact and her eyes burned into his. She was confused, as how to start the conversation and tell the tale of her embarrassment from the day she had started stalking him, officially.

He cleared his throat looking at her lost expression and she met his heated gaze once and for all.

"Hi"

Arnav bit onto his lower lip his eyes softening at her "Hi". She was so naive and innocent, well excluding few areas in particular. He thought tilting his head.

"Hi Khushi. Long time no see.. How is the baby and his mother doing?"

He asked his eyes darting down to her flat stomach and then his gaze returned to her face. She sighed as something similar to a blush tinged her cheeks. Hell, I do not blush! She repeated in her head and tried to move out of his hold.

"Not so fast"

He whispered leaning closer and Khushi totally lost her senses when he placed a scorching kiss on her shoulder blade. Her hands came in between them and she started pushing his chest off her form.

"I know your little secret and its safe with me..."

He said seductively, brushing away her wild bangs off her oval face. Her eyes narrowed at him and he nodded his head.

"What secret?"

She asked trying really hard to breath normally, as if it was even possible when he was so close to her.

"The tiny little cameras and transmittors you placed inside my room..remember?"

Khushi's eyes rounded instantly and she felt goose bumps all over her body. She was highly embarrassed for her deeds and now that he had himself found out the same, she could do nothing but avoid meeting him eye to eye. She bit onto her lips and looked at her manicured finger nails, as if having second thoughts about which one to bite first.

"Relax"

He said placing one dark manly hand onto her shoulder and she froze there. She just cant let him have his way with her. And now, that he have already found out everything what was she afraid of? He did not seem angry nor he is pissed off by her actions. What was this man made of? She thought stepping aside and this time he let her go.

"I...I was going to tell you everything, it was all a mistake, a huge mistake. But I don't want you to accept me for my foolishness. I deserve this punishment.. and..."

"Do not call it a punishment Khushi. Its just a baby..our baby...a part of us..."

Sasi was a good man. Period! He never liked to interfere in his daughter's life. He had given her full freedom to do anything she loved or desired. But this time when Arnav Singh Raizada arrived at his door steps, he sensed something was wrong and he would be a loser Dad if he never found out what was that.

He believed in morals as well as followed them heartily. But this time, he placed his moral lessons aside and instead placed his ears on the closed door of his daughter's room.

Cheap. Cheap. Cheap.

Bhagwan ji said and this time Devi Maiyya totally agreed with him.

"Sasi, this was undoubtedly the lowest point of this chapter. How could you eavesdrop your daughter's conversations with her lover? Cheap-o"

Devi Maiyya shrugged her shoulders and Sasi turned to look at them both.

"You are GOD & GODDESS, Not Critics! Understand? And FYI this is my job to take care of my daughter's life and amend every wrongs.

"Go Daddy...but let me tell you something...its not "Us" who decides everything, its the fried rice ji, its up to her if she wanted to do every wrongs in your daughter's life to be righted.."

"You guys are annoying..I think I missed something important...and I cant even hear anything... will you two please shut up and let me listen to their remaining conversation?"

Sasi begged, holding his hands in a prayer and BJ and DM shrugged their shoulders in a typical "whatever"

***

"I do not want you to take this risk of marrying me out of sympathy. I can manage on my own..."

Khushi said walking away from him to the bed in the middle while Arnav stalked closer.

"What if I would love to take this risk? And Missy, we both managed to get you pregnant in the first place, then we can always manage to raise the child too... What do you think?"

"I wish my daughter had the guts to tell the truth to me.. I am really disappointed in you Khushi...I really I am..."

Sasi said, his eyes moistening instantly.

"Dad"

"Uncle, your coffee"

Jyothi came to the scene with a tray full of fritters and two cups of coffee. The oily smell wafted through the room and Khushi got a whiff of the same to her nostrils. Her stomach twisted and her head felt dizzy.

"Dad, I will be right back. Jyothi, you need to call Mannu aunty immediately. Arnav,. what are you looking at, come on help me, I am going to throw up..."

She said and ran towards the bathroom followed by a tensed Arnav.

Sasi blinked his eyes rapidly. What was happening in this house? His titaliya was pregnant with ASS...err ASR's child. Holy Mangoes..I am going to be a NANA. Holy Moly Mangoes...Mannu would be so happy to hear this news...

***

"Honey, you need to calm down..."

Manorama pressed squeezing Sasi's slumped shoulders while Khushi and Arnav stood in front of them, their eyes staring onto the beautiful carpet beneath.

"I am happy as well as sad..Happy because I am going to be a Nana soon. And sad because she did not even tell me about it in the first place... I am her father after all..she should have told me first..."

"I am really sorry Dad.. I was petrified...and was never expecting this kind of reaction from you...this is so unreal..."

The hell it is. After all this Sasi is created by fried rice ji. She seriously does not have any idea how the real life father's behave at such flash news. Stupid Stupid girl...

"I know beta..but you were in love..I can understand the feelings you go through in such a phase of life..I wont blame you..and I would not even blame this young man either..After all he did not deny the fact that he was the father, even you, my titaliya tried to mislead him with the details.. I now realize that, what a perfect selection I had made for you both..Gosh! I am so good at this.."

Jyothi rolled her eyes dramatically while Devi Maiyya quirked her lips in approval. I know girl, this man is being unbelievably dramatic...

"Mannu darling, our engagement cant always wait...We need to tie these two together and then we will think about our little marriage.."

Manorama nodded hugging Khushi close while Sasi sniffled wiping back his tears.

"Dad, do not cry..I am so happy that you finally got your Mannu darling..."

Arnav said hugging Sasi sideways and he gave a watery smile in return.

"Are you normal or nuts? You want a whole month off..because your girl friend is pregnant?"

Aman asked in disbelief while Arnav shrugged his shoulders. This was the tenth time he was repeating the same question to Arnav. This man wont understand the feelings of an expecting father..err would be father..

"Yes Sir.. Do I need to repeat this yes, till you sign the leave letter...?"

Arnav asked annoyed and Aman sighed in defeat. What has gotten into this man? Where is that Arnav Singh Raizada, the incredible lover of police force?

"Okay Arnav, I will grand you the leave, but you need to come to work if there is any emergency.."

"Sure Sir, I will definitely..But I will have to leave the work, if there is any personal emergency...during those official emergency..."

"What?"

Aman asked confused and before he could say anything further, Arnav fled out of the room, holding his signed leave letter as if he won the world war or something.

***

"I seriously wish he was here...Hey Devi Maiyya aapne aisa kyun kiya?"

Khushi looked at Anjali who was crying from the past 2 hours, chanting the same words to Devi Maiyya. And Devi Maiyya does not even look like she was hearing anything. Then Khushi noticed the headphones and Devi Maiyya's closed eyes. Probably listening to some aarti?

"Nope. Wrong guess...I am listening to Frank Sinatra's love songs.. He was a legend..."

Khushi's eyes widened at the name and she switched on the music player in her phone.

"L
is for the way you look at me.
O
is for the only one I see.
V
is very very extra ordinary.
E
is even more than anyone that you adore
and

Love is all that I can give to you..
Love is more than just a game for two...
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don't break it!
Love was made for me and you.."

Anjali started bawling like a kid on the floor as the song finished. Khushi was terribly sorry for not paying attention to Anjali's words. She really got busy with the song and Devi Maiyya that she forgot her sister in law in always pain mode.

"Ohhh Anjali..I am really sorry..are you alright?"

Khushi asked helping her off the ground and made her sit on the couch next to her.

"I am good Khushi ji..its just..Shyam...he used to love this song.."

Anjali said sniffling and she blew onto the pallu of her sari. Khushi made an ewe face and cleared her throat.

"What happened to him then? What happened to both of you? He broke up with you?"

Khushi asked afraid of the outburst, but nothing sort of happened. Anjali wiped her face and looked at Khushi and then again started crying.

"He was a perfect lover Khushi ji. He loved me like no one ever loved anyone...He was my lost prince..and I was his princess. He treated me like a princess..Hell, he even used to call me Princess Sahiba...How adorable na?"

Khushi nodded crossing her legs and she continued.

"Then how did you two..I mean how come the break up and all happened?"

"He did not break up with me.. He died in the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack in CST station..."

Khushi gasped out at the detail. The memory of that horrible day was still fresh in her eyes but she had never thought that Anjali's pain was connected to that same dark day.

"He was in the army?"

Khushi asked getting a proud feel for Anjali and her late boyfriend Shyam Manohar Jha.

"Nope, he was eloping with his other girl friend and that moron died there.. I am glad that his chapter is over..and seriously Di, you need to move on.."

Arnav connected the dots for Khushi and she stood up instantly, reaching for Arnav's sides in quick long strides.

"Arnav, you cant be serious..She is crying for BJ's sake..and you are saying horrible things about her boyfriend?"

Khushi said poking his chest and he shook his head in disbelief.

"Firstly, he was her ex-boyfriend and late too. And I am not making up this story, his visuals were in the security camera of the station and he was with Anjali's best friend Subhadra..who was ten years older than him..can you believe that man?"

Khushi was getting dizzy with all the details. Firstly she was busy with her cramps and was literally trying to help Anjali get out of her grief but here, the story was something else.

"So, we were almost done with the phone calls to the friends, only two or three is remaining..I hope everything happens as its planned..."

Khushi said hugging him sideways.

"Chottey, when are we going for the shopping..You know there's only two days left for the engagement.."

Anjali said wiping her face clean and Arnav smiled at his sister.

"Di, you seriously need to look hard. Meet new people, make new friends other than your satsang aunties.."

"Chottey... dont you dare call them aunties..and Yes I will try my best this time...I just hope I find my Shyam very soon..."

"Say no to S.H.Y.A.M"

He urged and Anjali bit her tongue.

"Okay boss...Say no to S.H.Y.A.M"
