PROLOGUE

The moment he entered his house he knew that something was different. A strange but strong sensation settled inside him and what was more amusing is that it didn't feel alien to him. Even before his mind could process what is happening, his eyes started to scan the house as if it knew the reason for his increased heart beat rate.

"Mama, did you buy it?" his niece's voice brought him out of the trance. "Of course, princess." He smiled sweetly at his six-year old niece, Pia, while handing her a plastic bag he was holding. "And this is for you, champ." He gave another bag to Prem, his eight- year old nephew. "maa." They both shouted in unison as they ran towards Anjali who was standing in the hallway.

Anjali welcomed Arnav with her warm smile and looked at her kids who were jumping in joy. "As if they got it for the first time." She sighed and told Arnav who smiled in response. "There are two guns in this box. And you have only one doll." Arnav looked at prem, who was holding two toy guns before rolling his eyes to the box pia was holding. It had one only Barbie doll.

"damn it." he cursed himself for not noticing it when he bought it. Anjali clutched Arnav's shoulder, braving herself for the explosion that's going to happen in otherwise silent Raizada mansion. But pia smiled and said "its okay. Mama's friend gave me new nail paint and even put it on my nails. But you can never put it on your nails because you are boy." Pia giggled and jumped completely enjoying her victory over her elder brother.

"My friend?" Arnav questioned Anjali. Even before Anjali opened her mouth to answer, his eyes got widened; his breathing ragged; heart pounding against his chest. He turned to see the stair case and there was she, Kushi Kumari gupta standing with all her glory. She looked exactly how she looked three months before except her cheeks had got little more flesh and her skin was glowing.

'Dashing' was the only word came to his mind as she advanced towards him. She smiled delightfully at him "Arnav." His heart skipped a beat. 'Is this some boorish way to kill him?' he wondered. Then only reality hit him. It was kushi kumari gupta standing before him and not some other girl.

What the hell she was doing at his house? And why on the earth she smiled at him? He noticed that Anjali was busy pacifying her kids and without wasting a second, he grasped kushi's wrist, dragging her towards stair case. Reaching his room, he pushed her inside his room before letting him in.

Kushi stumbled for balance and closed her eyes when the door behind her was closed. She gathered herself quickly before starting to speak in melodious tone "wow Arnav, your room looks gre..." she stuttered as he got hold of her wrist roughly and pinned her to the wall. But kushi was neither surprised nor shocked. Actually she expected this. After all she is fighting the lion, that too in his own den.

"What the hell are you doing here, kushi?" he asked in rough tone. "Actually Arnav'" she started only to stop when he twisted her arms behind her back. She didn't showcase the pain infuriating her arm on her face. After all she had gone through worst pain than this. "What do you want?" he asked his voice low, clearly warning her talk to the point.

"you." She retorted with grin plastered to her face. "Your happiness." she continued. "Your family."

'is she losing it?' she asked herself seeing his cold and expressionless face. 'No, she can't afford to lose.' she motivated herself before speaking "today I met your non-existent family, they were perfect..." He cut her off "don't you dare to talk about them!?! The problem is between you and me. Don't drag my family into this?"

She smirked 'of course, she is not losing this. She had pulled the right cord.' His only weakness is his family. Kushi raised her brows as if she was surprised "and look, who is telling this? The one, who destroyed a complete family, because he had some tiff with the elder son of that family." She mocked. He retorted "I didn't destroy your family."

She shot back "of course, you didn't destroy my family directly. But what you did destroyed my family completely. Because of you, my mother died. Because of you, my father got killed. Because of you, my own brother disowned me and he was sent to jail. You did it all." She shouted at top of her voice.

He replied in calm voice "you knew it, Kushi. They deserved it."

She snapped "may be. But what did I do to deserve this?"

The question was simple but the great Arnav Singh Raizada couldn't answer it. How can he answer it when this was question haunting him for past three months? She didn't do anything to deserve it. Seeing he was lost in thoughts, she began to speak in low voice "do you how it feels when you sleep one night thinking you have best family in the world and wake up in the morning to find that you have no one. No one, just like an orphan?"

Arnav looked at her almond shaped eyes, trying to figure out her pain. "Do you how it feels?" she asked raising her voice little. She spoke in determined tone "if not, then brave yourself, mr.raizada. Before I leave this house, I will make sure that you feel the pain which I felt three months before. I will make sure that you have no one" she repeated inching close to his face "no one, just like me."

The one thing at which Arnav was best is reading his enemy. He knew something had gone terribly wrong. She has upper hand or else who dares to talk to him like this. He also knew how to pull it out from her own mouth. He laughed sarcastically "Even though you very well knew that you can't even touch my shadow, you seem to be confident. But what makes you think that I won't throw you out of my house?"

He knew she will blabber out the reason now. But what he didn't know is she was waiting to tell him the reason. Kushi took a deep breath. This is her trump card. This is her only way to reach the unreachable Arnav Singh Raizada. She very well knew it can back fire. If it does then like he told she can't even touch his shadow.

"I have something that you may consider precious." She said in deep composed tone. Arnav raised his eyebrow indicating he is curious to know what it was.

"Your child, Arnav." She told flatly "I am carrying your child."

She noticed different emotions playing on his face. Shock, disbelief and if she was right she saw a glint of happiness before everything was completely replaced by anger. He collected himself quickly "So?" he barked "OUT. NOW."

"If that's what you want, then I will leave." She smirked relishing her first victory against him.

so how was it? i hope it was not bad...tell me whether to continue or not...
