I know I needn't tell you this but leastways: I had so many songs shortlisted for this scene and finally chose this one which, understandably, is not as wonderful as the previous three songs I made them dance to in this FF. But when you read this chapter, if you pay attention to the words, you will see why this is the most befitting song for them, considering how far they've come and how much in understanding of their love they presently are. Chapter 298: The First Lord's Refrain

Everyone applauded in praise for the couple's performance as Lord Akash helped Payal to the chair, both of them panting slightly from the excitement but grinning happily.

As she settled into the golden armchair again, Payal caught Lord Arnav looking at Kushi who was busily seeing to the arrangements on the table.

Signing to Lord Akash, Payal whispered into his ear, consequential to which a sly smile appeared on Lord Akash's face.

Winking at his wife in mutual accordance of the plan, he walked towards the platform of the orchestra and passed a message to the conductor.

Thereupon, the conductor relayed the message to rest of the band and they prepared their instruments to relay the requested music.

Lord Akash, at this point, turned to the assembly and announced, "And now, as a gift to my lovely wife, Lady Payal, and to our adorable baby listening to all these festivities from within her, I request my Brother to lead his wife, Lady Kushi, into a dance with a song of my wife's choice."

Kushi was startled at the mention of her name and Lord Arnav did a double take. He scowled at Lord Akash for the unwonted announcement, but when he looked at the alarmed expression on Kushi's face, his devious manliness hastened to accomplish the merciless.

Walking towards Kushi, he took her hand and led her to the centre floor. Kushi shot an annoyed look at her sister, who grinned cleverly in response.

Lord Arnav held Kushi's hand and, wrapping an arm around her waist, placed his other hand at the small of her back, as she slid her free hand onto his shoulder.

The music commenced and Kushi looked up at him, the light in his deep eyes dancing with the song.

Tell me,

For better or for worse.

Kushi leaned closer to him and Lord Arnav danced slowly to the tune.

We'll have our disagreements,

Be fighting for no reason.

I wouldn't change it for the world.

Kushi smiled slightly and Lord Arnav's eyes gleamed in mirth too. And then he withdrew from her and held her at an arm's length, not releasing his hold of her hand.

He leaned closer to her, his forehead pressed to hers, as they danced, immersed in the music of their love with their eyes closed.

He released her hand and watched her dance around him.

He pulled her by her wrist to him and then, holding her by her hips, he dipped her to the floor before lifting her to stand upright.

He lifted her above him and she stretched her arms out like a bird released in exhilaration, as he circled slowly where he stood.

He alighted her slowly, her feet touching the floor as they continued to waltz away.
