Chapter 3
Mannat entered SM Mansion alongside Ibaadat. The house felt strangely quiet as they stepped into the empty hall. A silent glance passed between them before they instinctively made their way toward Subhan’s room. Just as they neared the door, they paused—voices could be heard from inside.
They stopped. Listened. And in that one moment, the truth unraveled.
Mannat wiped away a quiet tear as she gently pushed the door open. Subhan and Ibaadat turned in surprise.
Mannat: “You don’t need to say anything, Subhan… I already know the truth.”
She looked at them both with a calm, composed smile—one that masked the brief ache within.
“And your mom and dad are absolutely right,” she continued, turning to Subhan. Then to Ibaadat:
“You think I would have been hurt if I had found out later? No, Ibaadat. I would’ve felt worse knowing I was standing in the way of you two—of your happiness, of a love that was always meant to be.”
Her voice trembled slightly, but her eyes remained sincere.
“You both are made for each other. And I’m genuinely happy. Because not only do I have a true friend… I also have the world’s best sister.”
With a loving smile, Mannat took Ibaadat’s hand and placed it gently into Subhan’s.
“May you both always stay this happy. May your love grow stronger every day. And now…” she turned to Subhan, and says, “Subhan…
Kya tum mujhse dosti karoge?”
Subhan chuckled, a smile breaking across his face.
Subhan:
“Yeh bhi koi poochne ki baat hai, Always.”
Ibaadat being emotional : “Thank you, Di…”
Mannat : “Arre ‘thank you’ ki bacchi, next time no thank yous in a sisterhood! No sorry, no thank you—bas pyaar.”
Kaynaat and Hafeez being relieved with smiles.
Kaynaat : “Thank God everything is sorted out.”
Hafeez: “Now we can finally begin the wedding preparations!”
THE NEXT DAY
ENGAGEMENT
The SM Mansion was glowing with lights, laughter, and love. The engagement ceremony was grand yet intimate. Rings were exchanged, smiles shared, and hearts promised.
THE DAY AFTER
MEHENDI
Under the warm golden lights of the courtyard, the mehendi function buzzed with joy. Mannat lovingly applied henna on Ibaadat’s hands, carefully weaving Subhan’s name into the delicate design.
Mannat: “Do you know, Ibaadat… they say the darker a bride’s mehendi, the deeper her husband’s love. And I know yours will come out darker than ever—because Subhan loves you that much.”
Ibaadat says softly : “Mannat… are you truly happy with our relationship?”
Mannat:“Ibaadat, I told you—I’m very happy. I have no problem at all. In fact, I have some good news of my own…”
she paused with a grinning smile she continued
Mannat : “Imran and I have been seeing each other.”
Ibaadat : “So that means… we have two weddings to plan! And that means I get to write Imran’s name on your hand!”
The sisters giggled like they did in childhood as Ibaadat applied mehendi on Mannat’s hand.
THE GRAND NIKKAH
The courtyard of SM Mansion was adorned in golden drapes and shimmering lights, echoing the joy of two unions. The fragrance of fresh roses mixed with the sacred stillness of the evening as the families gathered under the open sky.
Subhan and Ibaadat, and Imran and Mannat, sat on opposite sides of the ceremonial setup, separated by curtains, as per tradition. The Qazi Saab began the Nikaah proceedings, with the verses from the Qur’an.
As the air turned silent with anticipation, the Qazi turned to Subhan first.
Qazi Saab:
"Subhan ibn Hafeez, kya aapko Ibaadat bint Hafeez se nikaah qubool hai, mehr ke saath?"
Subhan’s said : "Qubool hai, (pause) Qubool hai (pause) Qubool hai."
Behind the curtain, Ibaadat’s eyes brimmed with unshed tears. When the question came to her, she too answered:
Ibaadat : "Qubool hai, Qubool hai,Qubool hai."
With that, Subhan and Ibaadat were declared husband and wife under the eyes of Allah, family, and love.
Next came Imran and Mannat, whose nikaah mirrored the same beauty and sincerity. With each Qubool Hai, a chapter closed on heartache, and a new one began in joy.
After the official declarations, families gathered for duas, seeking blessings for both the couples.
*
A week later, the newlyweds left for a snowy, romantic escape in Switzerland—laughter echoing through alpine streets, fingers entwined, hearts full.
*
Back in SM Mansion, Kaynaat lovingly placed an old, framed photo on the wall—a childhood picture of Subhan, Mannat, and Ibaadat. Hafeez stood beside her, pride in his eyes.
Kaynaat:
“Dekho Hafeez… humare bachpan ke rishte aaj tak saath hai.”
Hafeez:
“All’s well that ends well.”
And indeed, it did.
