Chapter 2
His eyes roamed everywhere searching for the lady he had been itching to see since morning. He wondered how will she look in that dress he designed or assisted in their creations. (Of course, Arnav is a fashion designer, won't he design clothes which were supposed to be gifted to their closed ones?). The memory of her being adorned in that beautiful lehenge he created was still fresh in his mind, he remembered how ethereal she seemed. That time she wasn't able to wear it because Arnav debased her by tipping it to her, but this time, he actually chose it for her and he was all very curious to see her dressed up.
Just then the laughter of the lady ruling his mind echoed in the open air and Arnav eyes immedietly shot at the door of the house.
There she came out laughing, her ear flowing behind her but wait a second..
What the hell was she wearing? His mind snapped at him.

Khushi was dressed in a white lehenge, along with a black blouse. Her red dupatta was neatly pinned across her waist. (Thought of pinning it, Buaji would go hysteric otherwise 😉)
Arnav saw her with mixed feelings; he was awed by her beauty and enraged by her audacity. How could she simply not wear the dress he actually chose for her?
There was breeze on her face and her heart beats were going erratic. There was something wrong.
"DM! He's here" Just these words made Khushi's heart go DHAK DHAK DHAK.
She looked at him from her peripheral view and sighed.
"Let's go Khushi! Let's show that Laad Governer, what you are made up of" She took a deep breath and walked towards him.
As if she heard what was going in his mind, Arnav saw her approaching towards her. A big smile adorned her face.
"Aap aagye?" She asked smiling and walking towards him
"You came?" She said smiling and walking towards him
"How dare you Kh"
But Khushi walked past her.
"Nanhe ji..." It took a great force and struggle to prevent herself from bursting into laughter watching Arnav's face. His words were drowned by this act of hers and she knew he would be fuming.
"SNAP!" was the first thing which came to Arnav's mind. It was like Dj vu, this has happened before, on that cocktail party.
"Khushi ji.. you look so beautiful"
"Shukriya Nanhe ji" Khushi said, trying to blush and by observing Arnav's reaction, she was sure she had done a pretty impressive attempt.
"Why the hell is she blushing? There's nothing to blush" Arnav was going all hysteric
"Khushi ji, aap ne woh dress kyun nahi pehna?"
"Khushi ji, why didn't you wear that dress?"
"Wo kia hai na Nanhe ji, humen ghar aa kar andaza hua k aap ne jo lehenge kaha wo zyada acha tha, per ub to hum ye le aye the.. or waise bhi yeh humari jiji ne pasand kia hai or hum to wohi pehne ge jo jiji kahen gi. Aakhir un ki shaadi hai" She replied, making sure the grin doesn't peters away.
"Actually Nanhe ji, after I reached home I realized that the lehenge you chose was better but then my jiji chose this for me and I will wear what she says, after all it's her wedding isn't it?" She replied making sure the grin doesn't peters away
"Yes.. you got a point. But you don't need to worry Khushi ji, you look ethereal in whatever you wear so"
"Aww thank you so much Nanhe ji, you are simply the best"
"And what am I? Someone who doesn't even exists?" Arnav thought seething. This girl was crossing all the limits.
Arnav couldn't been more glad when Garima called Khushi to meet and greet the remaining Raizada family.
He could hear Di asking the same question to Khushi which NK asked but he didn't bother to hear her answer. He was already to pissed to hear her rattling again.
**~~~**
Arnav sat on the nearest chair, dejected and lost. He had tried to talk to Khushi alone but she was never found isolated. First she was upstairs with Payal, then she hang out with NK and when he was on the verge of grabbing her, she ran upstairs again.
"Did you see nani ji, Khushi ji has never been seen alone without NK, both of them look so damn good together"
"Di do you become blind when she's with me?" Arnav felt like shouting this to her but he refrained. He wasn't persuading Mami and when he's not doing that, the shattering of her sister's dream was inevitable.
"Yes Anjali bitya. Let this marriage get over and I'll talk to Manorama myself. She'll huff and puff but would finally agree. After all does she have any choice?"
"Jub miyan biwi razi, to kia karega qazi?" Anjali said beaming and Arnav's anger had now crossed limits.
"Stop it Di! Do you need to discuss Khushi's marriage near me? I mean go and talk it near the people you want to get married so they can know what's going on in your head and not in front of me who doesn't even gives a damn. Please don't even allude this topic in front of me, let alone discussing it"
"Anjali ji, Amma is calling you" Khushi said, her big grin never leaving her face.
"I'll accompany you bitya" Nani said, leaving along with her.
When they both left, Khushi realized that the moment she dreaded the most had arrived. She was alone with Arnav and there was no person who could be her angel in disguise.
"I thought Khushi Kumari Gupta would never dare to criticize anything Arnav Singh Raizada chooses but it seems that your audacity hasn't gone yet" He said, gritting his teeth and she gulped
"Now this was going to be fun" He thought, a faint smirk appearing on her face. He came forward to hold her wrist.
"It's time to teach a lesson, once and for all" He said dragging her with him.,
**~~~**
He dragged her to the roof, making sure no one sees them.
"You and I need to talk" She said, looking everywhere but at him
"I swear we do" Arnav thought but replied on its contrary.
"I don't see the point"
"Earlier the same day you call me a freaking crazy, lunatic, manner less jerk. Didn't you?" She said crossing her arms across her chest, trying to portray some strength.
"WOa! I never said those last words"
"Yeah probably they didn't click you mind or you would've" She snapped but backed off the same moment. She knew she had pressed the wrong button. Khushi gulped as she saw anger take up the softness in his eyes as he walked towards her, he grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him, twisting her arm behind her back
"Watch your tone Khushi"
"No you watch your words. If I don't say anything, doesn't means that you keep on" She stopped in between. Arnav was coming near her and Khushi mustered all her might not to take a step backward. However, she had closed her eyes.
"What are you wearing?" He asked bending close to her, his breath fanning her face and his clogne intoxicating her.
Her eyes opened and she gulped.
"I..i.."
"Why are you not wearing that lehenga" He bent a little more and Khushi's words were dissolved in her stomach.
"I..i"
"What I.. I Khushi?"
"I.." She closed her eyes and pushed him with all the force.
"Aap humare itne qareeb na aya Karen" She said, her cheeks feeling warm and her heart going hysteric.
"Now it's the time to blush" Arnav thought and smirked.
"Kyun?" He asked, taking a step closer to her but this time, the mischievous glint in his eyes, and a cruel smirk on his lips, forced her to follow the tradition; i.e. to take a step backward
"Now what am I supposed to reply?" She thought.
"You didn't answer my question Khushi" He said, passionately and still moving towards her.
Khushi looked here and there until she collided with the wall. She knew what was coming because her cheeks were going warmer and her heart was going to explode.
He placed his hands on both the side of the wall, trapping her between them and bent towards her.
"Waise... I actually don't mind you not wearing that and infact, you were right. It wasn't so good, this is perfect. You know why?"
Khushi didn't reply. All she did was squeeze her eyes more and more
"Because this dress... and this color, makes you look so damn sexy" He opened the pin which held her dupatta on her waist, not forgetting to caress the milky skin beneath it and took a step back.
Khushi had gone numb; her entire body had gone numb. All she could hear was his words and all she could feel was his hand on her stomach. Why does he do that? How does he do that? She was supposed to be red due to anger and not due to blushing. How does he always manage to make her anger abate and..
"Why does he always come so close?" She thought.
But the next moment, she heard his voice behind him as his breath fanned her shoulder
"Neeche ajao Khushi, phere shoroo hone wale hain" He said, enclosing her within his arms, and pinned her dupatta.
"Come down Khushi, it's time for the phere"
Khushi's eyes went so wide that a mili meter more and they'll fall from their sockets. Her heart was threating to come out bursting.
He tapped the pin, which he had perfectly done for her and whispered.
"Now that's better." And left, leaving a flustered Khushi behind..
"I am not looking at him, ever again" She decided.
**~~~**
The entire time Khushi's heart beats remained erratic.
"Mera kia haal hai wo ya to hum jante hain ya humari DM" She thought while completing all her tasks.
"What I am going through is something only I and my DM are aware of ". She thought while completing all her tasks.
The marriage was done and it was time for the moment Khushi dreaded the most; bidaai.
"Don't worry; it's going to be okay" She heard the same husky voice and found him next to her but this time she was too sad to even pay heed to his presence.
And then Payal came in front of her and all her strength vanished into thin air. She hugged her sister and cried her heart out, tearing Arnav's heart.
He clenched his fist, desperate to find out some way or another so he could console her; her tears affecting him.
It took 10 minutes for Khushi to cry and then break the hug. She kissed her sister, hiccupping a lot and then stayed behind as everyone led her towards the car. She couldn't bear to see her going away.
"Are you alright?" Arnav asked her, as she wiped her tears and nodded.
"Are you sure?" He asked, holding her shoulder, not out of passion but out of sympathy.
"Here's a tip, recall all the memories you had with your sister and write them down somewhere. You'll feel better" Arnav said, thinking how he used to find solace in the same task after her sister's marriage.
Khushi looked up at him with hopeful eyes.
"Trust me." He nodded and left and she silently retired to her room.
PRECAP:
"Chote you do not need to over react. She's a human and not your private property, she's a wonderful girl and I would always want to her come to this house, talking to you to marry her would be like initiating a world war but NK bhai, I've seen in his eyes that he really likes Khushi ji"
"And Khushi?" Arnav asked, not wanting to hear her answer
"I didn't get you Chote?"
"What have you seen in her eyes?"
"Well, all I have observed is that she likes him because he's friendly to her but I know Khushi ji, she'll start loving him if she knows that all she needs to do"
Khushi love NK, NK love Khushi, Nk marries Khushi... What is going on?
"What do you want me to do in this entire Khushi NK marriage thing?"
"Just try to be nice to her. I don't want another Mami fiasco during this wedding. NK bhai won't live here. He'll back naturally so Mami doesn't need to be so bothered but you, you know Chote, sometimes you are a very hard nut to crack" Anjali patted his cheek.
