Chapter 14
The marriage ritual started. Roli busy herself attending the guests. Siddhant's eyes searched for the one his heart occupied. He was ashamed of what he did to her. The fact that he made love to her was the best thing ever happened in his life. But the next morning when he woke up he realized what happened was not right. It was only the circumstances and may be the infatuation of the movement that both of them took these step.
But why would she agree on it. Why did she did it with him? He was never the caring and loving boss or a friend of her. Then why?
Because she loves you
His conscious mind echoed.
No.
She couldn't. He was not ready for the commitment.
Yes. He do love her. But he wasn't ready for being single to commit.
And he just wrote the words to her and left.
"Siddhant, go and bring the thaal" Mataji's voice disturbed his thoughts. He nodded and went to bring the thaal.
"No, I can't do that Rohan. After the marriage I am leaving. You are not going to stop me in fact I am going with you"
Roli's voice leave no argument for Rohan. He knew once his best friend decided no one could change her decision. Once decided it was decided.
One thing he wanted to know about the sudden decision she made to leave not only the house but also the city. He guessed Siddhant could be the cause but he was not sure and he need to find out.
The moment he thought he saw Siddhant walking out of the marriage hall. He excused himself from Roli and went to him.
"Siddhant. Hey!"
Siddhant stopped at Rohan's voice.
"Hey, Rohan. How are you man?"
"I'm fine. What about you?"
"I'm good."
Siddhant's voice held hurt that didn't go unnoticed by Rohan. The spark of his eyes had deemed. Rohan was now sure of something big happened between his best friend and Siddhant.
"I am here to ask you something about Roli." Rohan voice held determination of confirming the bad situation. At the mention of Roli Siddhant's face turned sour.
"What - what about her?" Siddhant spoke after clearing his throat.
"Did something happened between you two?" Rohan asked suspicious.
"No- Nothing happened. Why?"
"Uh. Never mind. I should go she is waiting for me for the helping hand. Or I would be chopped."
Siddhant laughed and nodded. Rohan left him to find Roli. Though Siddhant didn't answered him he could guessed something fishy. He had to find the reason by hook or crook.
"Roli"
The voice dreaded her ears. After that morning she wanted to forget him. Why had he followed her here. What do he need now? Wasn't it enough for him after the dreadful heartbreak.
She turned to the door after zipping her suitcase. She had packed everything already so she could leave with Rohan as soon as the marriage would complete. But she was hoping not to see him before that. As it is said expect the unexpected. So she had to face him now.
Siddhant could see the soul through her eyes. He knew how much she was hurt because of him. And he never want her to get hurt again. So it would be great if she would leave. He had already guessed that she would be leaving when he saw her packed bags.
"So, you're leaving?" Siddhant asked. His voice held concerned. Concerned for what? She thought.
"And you care because?" Her reply was firm and emotionless.
"No. I don't"
Ouch! That stung her heart. It was a pinch directly to the heart.
"Then why are you here? Just leave already." She spat angry.
"I think I and you need to talk"
"Talk about what?"
"About us"
She laughed dryly.
"Us? Was there ever an us? No. It was about only you. What you need you do. What you want you get. What you think us right. You . You and only you. There was never an us. You wanted me so badly that you used me and left not even once you asked how I felt about it. What I think about it. What I want. What I need. You never asked. "
" Stop playing games with me. I am already Fed up. I lost the tiny hope I had that you will come for me. But you didn't. So just get the f*** out of my room and my life. I never want to see your face again"
Words flew from her mouth that she never thought she'd even think, let alone say out loud. She knew instantly from the look on his face that it strike to the his heart. And she turned her back to him give him time to leave her alone.
Siddhantwas shocked, angered and mostly hurt. She was right. He only thought of himself. Not if her. He was selfish. Never had he thought about her before taking decision of their life. He realized how she would have felt. In her eyes He just used her and threw out her. He never approached her personally for a Sorry or confronted her because of his own fear and selfish reasons.
He took a last glance at her and left her alone. She locked the door and cries out. Her anger, frustration, hurt turned in to sorrows and she let it out with the muffled cries she had hold for weeks. She let out all her emotions.
The images of her first meet with him to the last meet flashed before her eyes. Her cries turned to hiccups. She wept her dried tears. She would never remember that man again. She would forget the man her heart still want. She had to stop her heart for beating for him. She need to be selfish. She had to be selfish. And she would be selfish. Now, she would only live for her own life. She would enjoy her life. She would be a changed Roli after the new day.
