Chapter 18(A)

I closed the file in my hand as I looked at the clock.

1 am it was showing .

I rubbed my forehead as I felt my head aching due to lack of sleep. It was past mid-night and I still didn't felt like going home because my wife wasn't there . She is at her mother's place from past 4 days. Her mother will be going NY for her treatment after 3 days with Taani's grandmother but I am not letting Taani go with them because my silly wife is 5 months pregnant with my twin babies and I just cannot risk her health this way. But obviously when have she ever listened to me. So, she was adamant to go with her mother but then her very dearest doctor also declined her to risk her health this way by flying for so long distance . So she finally listened to her doctor atleast.

But the main point is that she is punishing me now by keeping herself away from me . She is living with her family until they fly to NY.

So, I am here sleep deprived and restless without my wife. from past 3.5 months I every night sleep either looking at her face or cuddling her but now she is not here so I can't sleep, can't eat. I don't even want to go home where she won't be there waiting for me either watching her stupid movies, or knitting woolens for our kids and then pretending like she wasn't waiting for me but doing her work. But I know better than her lies. I know all the works are just excuses. My wife has also grew odd habit of sleeping while cuddling me . She just can't sleep without me.

My chain of thoughts broke when I heard my phone ringing .

A wide smile appeared on his face.

Rey:" Taani. Hie"

I replied the call so happily but then I heard her crying on the other side and my heart broke in million little pieces.

Rey:" What Happened ,Baby? Why are you crying ? "

I asked calmly but she kept crying and I was so tensed. I rushed outside to get to my car while still persuading her to speak something.

Rey:" Taani. What happened? You are scaring the hell out of me . Tell me Damnit. Are you alright ? "

I finally lost my cool and I heard her cries subsiding and she was just sobbing lightly.

Taani:" First promise you won't shout on me "

Rey:" I promise . Tell me what happen?"

Taani:"I came here outside with some work and now I can't find any Taxi or auto. I'm stuck here, Rey. And I'm tired to walk home back "

She said and I was just so angry on her . Why can't she take care of herselg. Idiot Woman .

Rey:" What work??"

I barked loudly on phone.

Taani:" You're shouting. See. You promised you won't shout "

Rey:" Okay sorry. Tell me where are you ?"

I replied calmly or else she will again start crying.

Taani:" I'm three streets away from home. I am craving for Gulab Jamun, I came here to buy ingredients to make it. But all shops are closed and I'm tired."

Damn her cravings.

Rey:" Okay I'm coming . Just sit there somewhere. I'll be reaching in 5 mins"

I said speeding up the car. I disconnected the call and called Sharon to ask her to make some Gulab jamun's for Taani. This girl will be death of me one day.

I reached there in exactly 4min 30 seconds. And my silly wife was sitting there under a tree . I half ran there and I noticed she was still crying .

I sat down to help her stand up but she just attacked herself on me and hugged me so tightly and started crying more loudly. I didn't knew what to do at that time. I tried soothing her back but she was just crying continuously .

Rey :" Baby. Calm down. I'm here See. Stop crying. I'm here with you"

I kept hugging her for several minutes and continued my soothing words in her ear and then finally she stopped crying .

Rey:" You Okay?"

I asked holding her face protectively in my hands. She nodded but was still sobbing lightly.

I wiped her tears and kissed her forehead and picked her in my arms and made her sit in car properly .

I passed her a bottle of water as she finally stopped crying and was looking at me .

I bent down and kissed her bulge in stomach twice .

Rey:" Dadda missed you guys and loves you "

I looked at Taani as she smiled looking at me . Then I fastened her seat belt as she kept sipping water from the bottle.

Taani:" Where are we going?"

She asked as I took a turn away from her house.

Rey:" Home"
