Chapter 41
It was past midnight when Taani woke up with grumbling stomach. She ran her hand through her messy hair and look at Rey, who was sleeping peacefully beside her, with his arms protectively wrapped around her waist. Taani tried removing his grip but in result he tighten it more, and pulled her more into his warm body. Taani sighed and looked at him with frown.
"Wakey-Wakey, Rey." Taani whispered, poking in his ribs. Rey moaned slightly in his sleep and nuzzle his face in crook of her neck.
"Krishnaji! Help me, I'm your favorite child na. Please help." Taani mumbled, Looking at the ceiling, talking to her krishnaji. She again tried removing his arm from her waist, and after her so many efforts, she finally able to come out of his grasp. Taani smiled at her small victory and turned to get up, to get something from kitchen, to eat.
Taani walked over the door and opened it, slightly. She peeped outside and hurriedly closed the door again when she noticed darkness outside, though small night lights were on in hall but still she was feeling scared going downstairs alone.
"Stupid Evil Darkness! What should I do, now? Rey ki help? No- No. It's bad, I should not disturb his sleep." Taani was talking to herself, standing near the close door.
"But bhook toh lagi hai.." Taani told herself. She looked down at her stomach then at him, who was sleeping on bed.
"Taani, It's okay. You can wake him up and take his help. He won't mind." Her inner conscious told her, Taani nodded and she walked toward the bed. She sat on edge of the bed, facing him. She stare at him, his calmed look while sleeping. She didn't wanted to disturb him but she had no other option, she couldn't control her hunger.
"Rey, Get up." Taani whispered in his ear, shaking him by holding his shoulder gently. Rey yawned and opened his eyes, he stare at with sleepy look and found her sitting beside him. Then, he glanced at the clock.
"Taani! What happened kitten?" Rey asked her worriedly, wondering why she waked him up at 2.30 in night.
"Mujhe bhook lagi hai.." Taani trailed off cutely, smiling down at him sheepishly. Rey let out a chuckle, she was so cute that he couldn't stop himself from falling for her more n more.
"And I'm feeling scared, Can you come with me?" Taani continued, she was feeling little scared going downstairs alone, there will be darkness, of which she has phobia. Rey frowned, he hates it, something scaring his kitten off. He never like the fear in her eyes, will do anything to remove it from her beautiful hazel orbs.
"Okay but I want something in return." Rey told her, with mischievousness visible in his eyes but taani was too hungry to notice anything else. By now she has started imagining food everywhere else.
"Alright, I'll give you whatever you want but as for now, Please come with me." Taani whined, like a child. Rey nodded, holding his hand she literally dragged him out of the room. She was clinging onto him for her dear life as them descended down the stairs, he wrapped his arm protectively around her waist.
"Thank You, Rey." Taani mumbled as they entered the kitchen and switched on the lights. Taani walked toward the fridge and open the door, to look something to eat.
"Rey, aap khaoge kuch?" Taani asked him, she turned around little and stare at him, with her one hand holding fridge door open. Rey nodded negatively in response. Taani took out a bowl of pulao and kept it microwave to heat it up.
"You should have proper dinner taani, then you won't have to wake up at night to eat again." Rey told her, she eat less in dinner then wake up at late hours of night to eat again.
"I'd proper meal in dinner, Rey. But I likes to have midnight snacks, sometimes." Taani defended herself, Rey shook his head. He walked toward her and helped to take out the bowl from microwave and then, he served her in plate.
"Thank you." Taani mumbled, she stand on her toes and peck his lips. Rey smiled at her, just then his cell phone ring. He frowned, wondering who is calling him at this time of night. Rey took out his cell phone from his track pants pocket and stare at the mobile screen for a moment before he picked up the call.
"Yes, Abhi." It was abhi, his assistant. He moved little away from taani, who was busy in eating didn't noticed him.
"f**k! How did that bitch escaped?" Rey shouted, hearing ashi had escaped from where he had kept her, under the watch of his men. Rey closed his eyes, he moved out of the kitchen but he knew he had already done the damage, she had heard him and he had no idea how he is going to explain this to her.
"I don't know sir, nor our men knows. She was there inside the room till some hours back but now she wasn't there." Rey heard his assistant's reply from the other side of the call. He cursed under his breath, realizing someone had betrayed him, one of his men had betrayed him and help that nosey bitch to escape.
"Someone had helped her. The b a s t a r d that had sex with that w h o r e, Kill him. And send some guards here, to make sure that bitch doesn't come here and harm taani." Rey told him, disgust and hatred lacing his words. The devil in him was out, he wanted blood. Abhi replied positively, to work over his boss's command. Rey cut the call and walked inside the kitchen again.
Rey stare at her, she was eating quietly, not meeting up his gaze. He knew she had heard some part of his conversation.
"Taani, Come here." Rey commanded her, she placed the spoon in plate and walked toward him, taking slow baby steps. Her gaze was fixed on ground. She had never seen him talking to someone like that, using abusive words. It scared her little.
"What did you hear?" Rey asked her, his tone was sharp and dominating, not his usual self with her.
"Who escaped Rey? and why you were shouting so much?" Ignoring his question, she questioned him back, still not lifting up her gaze from ground.
"Finish your food then we will talk about it." Rey told her, sternly. Taani was shocked with the sudden change in his tone with her.
"I'm done. You can tell me, now." Taani answered him back, he was in worst mood. It was first time, first time some had betrayed him like this, his own men whom he trust, had helped his enemy.
Rey took a step close to her and threw her over his shoulder, his patience level was wearing off. He wanted to go and kill that b a s t a r d with his own hand, who had betrayed him but he knew, he has to handle her first. He can't lose her, he has to clear all this before it take nasty turn.
"Urgh. Rey, Put me down." Taani shouted, feeling slightly dizzy with sudden action of his.
"Mind your tone, Kitten." Rey warned her, She gasped loudly when he slapped her ass. Rey climb the stairs, he took her upstairs, in their bedroom.
"Why are you acting like this? I don't like it." Taani huffed, once he placed her down on bed, she stare at him. Her arms crossed against her chest.
"Taani, I'm serious." Rey told her sternly. Taani pouted, she wasn't liking this serious Rey, She wanted her Rey back.
"Okay. Now you can tell, who escaped from where? And why you were using that kind of language, You know that It's wrong, Don't you?" Taani told him, pointing her index finger at him.
"Taani." Rey sighed, he sat on bed beside her and pulled her on his lap.
"Rey, Did i do anything bad?" Taani asked him cutely. Rey's heart melt seeing her face. He nodded in no, denying her.
"Then, Why are you behaving so coldly with me, I like my Rey, my sweet sa baby." Taani whispered with moist eyes. Realization dawned upon him, he was taking out his frustration on her. He closed his eyes, feeling ashamed over his behavior. It was never his intention to hurt her but in his anger he did.
"I'm sorry, kitten. But listen to me carefully." Rey said, with honesty in his voice. Taani nodded, positively at him.
"You know, I have few enemies who wants to hurt me.." Rey started to say, her eyes filled with worry and fear thinking someone wants to hurt her Rey. A chill ran down her spine, in fear. She tighten her grip around his torso.
"And to hurt me, they will try hurt you. But I won't let that happen. I'll protect you." Rey told her. Taani listen to him carefully then, she smiled at him. He is her protector and she knows he will protect her, always.
"Urmm..but that call.."
"That call? It was about someone who had hurt me and I'll punish them for that." Rey told her, he want her to understand. But somewhere he was glad she hadn't heard his conversation fully else it would have become difficult to make her understand. He was sure if he told her whole truth, it will scare her.
"Just like you punish me when I do something wrong?" Taani questioned him. Her trust in him is pure, she can never believe her Rey will do something bad. She had forgotten about the phone call, now she was more concern about him, when he told her some people wants to hurt him, it made her shiver in fear. She can not bear him getting hurt, in any way.
"No kitten. That punishment is for you only, their punishment will be different but you don't have to worry about that. And there is something I want to tell you. Tomorrow morning I'm leaving early for some work and you will stay here inside the mansion only, You will not step out of the mansion." Rey told her, there are chances ashi will come here, to hurt his taani. She will definitely try to seek revenge.
"Alright. I'll stay in mansion." Taani told him, cutely smiling at him. By his expression, she could tell it was something serious and she should obey him, with out any argument.
"And promise me, You will not think about the phone call" Rey said, he knew he was wrong at his part but he couldn't help about it. He wasn't going to lose her or create any distance between them because of something like this.
"I promise." Taani said, she gave him a peck on his lips causing him to smile at her.
"Rey, you should sleep now, You have to get up early." Taani told him, Rey nodded positively. For a change, Taani made him lay down on bed and covered him with blanket.
"Good night, My Sweet-Sa-Baby." Taani whispered, she bend down and kissed his forehead, with love. Unconsciously, His lips curved into small yet content smile, feeling her pure Love. Taani slipped inside the covers and snuggle close to him. She wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his chest.
"Krishnaji! Please keep My Rey safe from any kind of harm." It was the last thought she had in her mind before she slipped into peaceful slumber, in his arms.
