The Support
Rohan walked up to the duo, a warm smile on his face. "Congratulations, Arnav! I knew you had it in you. You're going to make a fantastic captain!"
Arnav grinned, still holding Khushi close. "Thanks, Rohan Sir! I couldn't have done it without your support."
Rohan turned to Khushi, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "And I see someone's already celebrating!"
Khushi's face turned bright red as she pulled away from Arnav, laughing. "Rohan Ji, you always mock at me coming along."
Arnav chuckled, putting a possessive arm around Khushi's shoulders. "Rohan Sir, back off! Don't scare my lucky charm."
Khushi playfully pushed Arnav away, her eyes sparkling with fake anger. "You...!" she exclaimed, walking away with a hint of a smile.
Both Arnav and Rohan burst out laughing, enjoying the lighthearted moment.
Rohan winked at Arnav. "Be careful, she's still a minor."
Arnav's face turned bright red as he tried to maintain a straight face. "I know, Rohan Sir. She is my best friend" he said, laughing.
Rohan chuckled and clapped Arnav on the back. "I'm just looking out for you, my friend. You're a lucky man to have Khushi by your side."
Arnav smiled, feeling grateful for Khushi's presence in his life. "I know, Rohan Sir. I'm a very lucky man."
ARNAV'S HOUSE
As Arnav and Khushi walked into his house, they were greeted by the warm smiles of his family.
"Arnav, beta, how was your meeting with Rohan?" his father, Arvind, asked.
Arnav grinned, barely containing his excitement. "It was great, Papa. I have some fantastic news to share with all of you."
The family gathered around, eager to hear the news. Arnav took a deep breath, savoring the moment.
"I've been selected as the captain of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming under 19 World Cup!" he announced.
The room erupted in cheers and applause. Arnav's mother, Ratna, rushed to hug him, tears of joy in her eyes.
Arvind patted Arnav on the back. "We always knew you had it in you, beta. You've made us all so proud."
Khushi smiled warmly, feeling happy for Arnav and his family.
NANA NANI HOUSE
Days passed, and the day arrived for Arnav to leave for the tournament. He stood outside Khushi's (Nana Nani's) house, his cricket bag slung over his shoulder.
Khushi opened the door, a bright smile on her face. "Hey, I was waiting for you. When do you leave?" she asked.
Arnav smiled, feeling a pang of sadness at the thought of leaving Khushi behind. "I leave in a few hours. I just wanted to come by and say goodbye."
Khushi's smile faltered, and she looked up at Arnav with a hint of sadness in her eyes. "I'll miss you," she said.
Arnav's heart skipped a beat. He reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, his fingers grazing her skin. He cups her face gently.
"I'll miss you too, Khushi," he said. "I'll call you after each match."
Khushi nodded, a big smile on her face.
Arnav's eyes locked onto Khushi's, and he could see the faith and confidence she had in him. He felt a surge of determination and resolve.
"I won't let you down, Khushi," he said. "I'll give it my all and make sure I make it to the national team."
Khushi's smile grew even wider, and she nodded enthusiastically. "I know you will, Arnav. You're the best, and you deserve to be on the national team."
Arnav's heart swelled with emotion as he looked at Khushi. He knew that he could always count on her to support and encourage him, no matter what. With a newfound sense of confidence and determination, Arnav leaned in and gently kissed Khushi's forehead.
"I'll make you proud, Khushi," he whispered, before turning and walking away, ready to take on the challenge of a lifetime.
Khushi's smile grew even wider, and she nodded enthusiastically.
But the tournament didn't go as smoothly as Arnav had hoped. India lost the first two matches, and Arnav was criticized from all corners. He felt defeated and didn't call Khushi after the matches, not wanting to burden her with his disappointment.
However, Khushi took matters into her own hands and called Arnav. His somber tone was a stark contrast to his usual cheerful voice.
"Hey, Khushi," Arnav said, his voice laced with disappointment and frustration.
Khushi's heart went out to him, and she could sense the weight of the world on his shoulders. "Arnav, I've been trying to reach you. What's going on? I saw the matches, and..."
Arnav sighed, cutting her off. "I know, Khushi. We're not doing well. And to make matters worse, the media is killing me. I feel like I've let everyone down. May be I was not prepared to be a captain."
Khushi's voice was filled with empathy and concern. "Arnav, don't say that. You're an amazing player, and one bad tournament doesn't define you. You'll bounce back, I know it. I trust your capabalities."
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, Khushi wondered if Arnav was still there. But then she heard his voice, low and husky.
"Thanks, Khushi. Just talking to you makes me feel better. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Khushi's voice was firm and encouraging. "Relax, you still have three days till the next match. Analyze the mistakes of the past two matches and correct them. You can do it, Arnav. You weren't selected by fluke. Come on, we're all waiting for you to bring that cup home."
Arnav's face broke out into a determined smile as he listened to Khushi's pep talk. Her words of encouragement and belief in him sparked a fire within him, and he felt his confidence and motivation soaring.
"Thanks, Khushi. You always know exactly what to say to get me pumped up. I won't let you down, I promise. I'll analyze our mistakes, work on my game, and come back stronger than ever."
Khushi's voice was filled with conviction and enthusiasm. "That's the spirit, Arnav! I know you can do it. We all believe in you. Just go out there and give it your all. The cup is yours for the taking!"
This talk made a huge difference to Arnav, he led the team from front and he was a beast with the bat breaking all the possible records of the tournament. India made it to the finals along with England as the opponent.
The day of the final match arrived, and the entire nation was buzzing with excitement. Arnav, fuelled by his determination and Khushi's unwavering support, was ready to lead his team to victory.
As the Indian team took to the field, the crowd erupted in cheers, waving flags and banners. Arnav, with his characteristic swagger, walked out to the middle, his bat at the ready.
The English team, known for their formidable bowling attack, was determined to take down the Indian team. But Arnav was unstoppable. He danced down the pitch, his bat flashing in the sunlight as he dispatched the English bowlers to all corners of the ground.
The crowd went wild as Arnav smashed his way to a century, and then a double century, breaking record after record. The Indian team's total mounted, and the English team's hopes began to dwindle.
As the Indian innings came to a close, Arnav walked off the field, his arms raised in triumph, the crowd cheering his name. He had single-handedly taken the Indian team to the brink of victory, and now it was up to the bowlers to finish the job.
Khushi, watching the match from the stands, was on the edge of her seat, her heart pounding with excitement. She had never seen Arnav play like this before, and she couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and love for him.
Arnav was still not sure as they had lost to England team in the first round. Khushi comes near the VIP area but she was not allowed inside dressing room. One of the players informs Arnav, he come out to talk to her in the innings break.
