Part 5
"Dad"Khushi whispered fearfully.
Arnav looked at her noticing she stopped walking and was really pale.She was lost in some thoughts.
"What's wrong Khushi?"asked Arnav "Is something wrong"
"No"Khushi said immediately and put on a fake smile.Though Arnav had been with Khushi for a few days he could tell the smile was fake.He was about to question her but coach cut him off
"We are going to have a game of tug of war.Girls vs boys to see which gender is stronger"
There was a long,straight,strong rope on the ground.The girls and boys took hold of the rope.Khushi and Arnav were standing face to face in the front.He smirked and she smiled.The whistle blew and everybody started pulling except Arnav who just kept a strong,firm hold on the rope.He knew if he pulled the boys would easily win but he didn't want to do that just yet.He stared at Khushi as she kept her eyes on the rope and was pulling with all her might.Her hair kept disturbing her but she didn't bother pulling it back thinking if she let go,the girls would lose.Arnav didn't like her hair coming in between his view.He looked where she was standing and pulled a little making the girls jerk a little forward.He smirked.He got her where he wanted.Arnav pulled the rope harder making the girls let go and fall forward and the boys backward.Khushi fell forward into his open arms.Arnav closed his arms around her in a proper hug.
Dhak Dhak
Khushi could hear a loud,pounding dhak dhak the minute she met a warm pair of deep brown eyes.She couldn't hear anything but dhak dhak.It sounded so much like a heartbeat.'Her heartbeat'she realized.'But why was it beating so loudly that she couldn't hear anything else'she questioned herself.She couldn't take her eyes off of Arnav's for a second.The dhak dhak was growing louder by the minute that she was almost sure Arnav could hear it.
A loud whistle made them come back to conscious.They looked around to find all the boys and girls groaning as they got up from the ground.
"The boys wins"announced the coach.
The boys groaned their victory while Arnav and Khushi chuckled but then realised they were still in a very close position.They stepped backward and turned to go to their friends.When Khushi approached her friends,she realised her heartbeat had gone back to normal.'How weird'thought Khushi.Coach told the campers to go to their tents as it was dark.Everybody had fallen asleep except Khushi.She decided to go outside for some fresh air.She was dressed in her nightclothes-white salwar kameez.She was walking around when she heard some voices.Feeling curious she followed the voices to the back of Arnav's tent to find Arnav and Sheetal.
"Listen Sheetal,we are over.Get this into your pea-sized brain"Arnav said in a frustrated voice.
"Please Arnav,we can make a perfect couple if you just give this relationship a chance"
"Sheetal please just leave"
"But-"
She stopped hearing some shuffling noises.Arnav noticed that too.They turned to see Khushi.
"Angel"whispered Arnav with a small smile.Sheetal noticed that and got angry.
"Don't you have anything to do other than eavesdrop on us"she nearly yelled at Khushi.She would've continued but Arnav stood in front of her,facing her,blocking Khushi.
"Sheetal,leave"he said calmly.
"But-"
"Leave!"Arnav said in a loud voice that it scared Khushi who thought he was talking to her.She turned to leave.
"Not you Angel"he said once again in a calm voice.Khushi stopped and stood where she was.
"What's so special in her that you are asking me to leave,Arnav"demanded Sheetal.
"Because she's special,damn it"he yelled.
"Is she your girlfriend"asked an outraged Sheetal.
"Yes,she is"he said in anger not realizing what he was saying.Khushi's eyes widened hearing his response.She gulped.
Dhak Dhak
It was back!Her heartbeat was racing wildly and she had no clue how to settle it down.Her heartbeat was so loud she couldn't tell what Arnav and Sheetal were saying.All she knew that Sheetal was mad and had stomped away from them leaving just the two of them.Arnav turned to Khushi and said something but she couldn't hear what he said.'Is there something wrong with me'she questioned herself.Was she catching some sort of disease.When Arnav held her hand,her heartbeat stopped.'I am definitely going to consult a doctor about this'she thought.But at least now she could hear what Arnav was saying.
"I hope you dont mind,Angel,pretending to be my girlfriend in front of Sheetal"
Khushi didn't know what to say.Should she say yes or no.They were only pretending.Nothing else,right.She nodded.
"Thank you Angel.By the way,what are you doing so late at night awake?"
"Umm...I wasn't feeling sleepy but now I am"she said as she yawned.
"Come..I'll drop you to your tent"Arnav said.Khushi smiled.
They walked to her tent in complete silence.
"Good night,Angel"said Arnav kissing her right cheek soundlessly earning a gasp from her.He smirked and left.Khushi blushed as she could still feel his lips on her cheek.Her dhak dhak started to begin again but she kept her hand on her heart and took deep breaths.It helped.Her racing heart turned normal.'I need a doctor for sure'thought Khushi.She climbed back into her tent and fell asleep as soon as she touched the pillow.

Arnav couldn't believe he kissed Khushi on her cheek.'At least she wasn't mad about it'reasoned Arnav.He could still feel Khushi's soft skin on his lips.He wonder how it would be when his lips touched her li-...Only friends!!!He reminded himself.And a pretend girlfriend,he added with a grin.

"I love you Angel"said Arnav looking straight into her eyes.Khushi gasped.Khushi was in a beautiful red sari with white embroidery while Arnav was in a white sherwani.Then she smiled.

"Very funny Arnav"said Khushi thinking he was joking."For a second there I thought you really meant it"
"But I do Khushi"looking every bit serious.He only called her by her real name when he was serious.Khushi looked into his deep brown eyes to see any hint of mischief but when she found none she said
"But Arnav,I thought you didn't believe in love"
"I didn't before..but ever since I met you,love and you are the only things that I think about"
Arnav took a step forward and Khushi took one step backward only to find herself almost falling down the stairs which were beautifully decorated.Fortunately Arnav caught her hand and hauled her up bringing her close to him that they could feel each other's breath.They gazed into each other's eyes as if they saw nothing else.Arnav set his gaze upon Khushi's lips and looked back into her eyes.He bent down bringing his lips down close to hers.She closed her eyes and parted her lips in response breathing heavily.
"Angel"Arnav whispered one inch away from her lips.

Khushi shot up with some sweat leaking from her forehead.She immediately took her surroundings.La was sitting up while Payal was getting up to stretch.
"You ok Khushi?"asked Lavanya.
"Y-ya why d-do you ask La?"
"Oh well...you were squirming a lot in your sleep so I shook you to get up"
"Oh"said Khushi in realization.
"Now let's go guys.Coach will start screaming any minute"Payal and Lavanya chuckled.
The girls got ready and went out of their tent to see something totally unexpected.
