The Night We Met

Part-4

“Sorry, wrong room,” she mumbled in shock, clutching her dress close to her chest as she turned to rush out of the room.

Maan heard her melodious voice, and as her words sank in, he hurriedly stood up from the bed and held her elbow before she could leave the room.

“You're in the right room,” he whispered in her ear, sending shivers down her body as his breath fell on her neck. “Or should I say you've entered the right heart?” He flirted shamelessly, twisting her arm behind her back and moving closer to her while still keeping some space between them.

Geet tilted her neck, hearing him, and her eyes widened, realizing their faces were just a mere inch away from each other. She could feel his breath on her lips now, tingling her senses. He kept staring at her, lost in her beauty.

Geet tried to free her arm from his hold, but he tightened his fingers around her wrist, not letting her move an inch.

“Let go of me,” she murmured helplessly as her dress fell to the floor while she fought to free herself.

“Why?” Maan questioned, smirking, as his other hand went across her waist, shamelessly caressing her skin over her shirt before resting on her stomach.

She forgot to breathe as his hand rested on her stomach, feeling his fingers making patterns on her skin.

“You cannot touch me without my consent,” she managed to voice out amidst her heavy breathing and closed eyes.

“Only I have the right to touch you,” he said, coming dangerously close to her, framing her against his body.

She could now feel the heat radiating from his body as he was almost touching her back. She opened her eyes as her phone broke their moment. She pushed him back with all her force and took out her phone from her jeans pocket.

“Geet, how much do you need to get ready? That sadu Maan Singh Khurana is here, getting ready in his suite. Please come back quickly, we need your help,” Meera's pleading voice welcomed her as she kept her phone to her ear.

Before she could say something, the line went dead. “Arghhh! Maan Singh Khurana. Gadha, ullu, dusht danav, akdoo, why can’t he let us live tension-free for a minute?” Geet cursed him, shaking her head, totally forgetting about Maan standing in the same room just behind her.

Maan’s face was worth watching when he heard such beautiful nicknames for himself. “How dare she call me with such names,” he thought.

“And you stay away from me, otherwise I’ll file a complaint against you for harassing me,” Geet warned, turning towards him and showing her index finger to him as her nose flared in anger. She left the room, picking up her dress, and the door closed with a bang.

“Interesting,” Maan thought, smiling devilishly, folding his arms against his chest.

As she walked down the stairs after getting ready in the room assigned to her, she kept mumbling angrily, complaining to her beloved Babaji for making her meet that devil.

“Geet, come on. Karan has been looking for you for such a long time. He wants us to meet that sadu,” Meera informed, clutching her wrist and pulling her towards the group that was chatting with Maan.

Geet smiled, waving at her team members and Karan, her boss, missing those mischievous eyes gawking at her. Maan forgot to breathe for a moment, tripping on the carpet as he stared at her, dressed in a lavender sheath midi dress with long rhinestone earrings adorning her ears and a silver watch on her wrist. Her hair was tied in a bun with a few strands falling on her face, making her look marvelous.

“Geet, meet Maan Singh Khurana. And Mr. Khurana, meet Geet, my most trusted employee,” Karan introduced both of them with a smile.

Geet smilingly extended her hand towards him and lifted her eyes to look at him. Her smiling face turned angry seeing him stand with a smirk on his face.

He held her hand in his and gave it a little squeeze. “Nice meeting you, Geet,” he said.

She smiled hesitantly at her colleagues and took her hand back from his hold. She made a baby face, pouting and tilting her head upwards, grumbling to her Babaji. “Oh no,” she said.

Maan followed her gaze and made a confused face. He laughed a little listening to her and, leaning towards her, he whispered, “Oh yes.”

She ignored him and left from there, stomping her foot on the ground. He sheepishly smiled, ruffling his hair as he watched her roam around the hall alone.
