Chapter 117

Aman, NK, Lavanya and Naina had just finished dancing. They move off the dance floor except for Naina, who shouted for Divya and Aashima to join her.


Anjali came on the stage and asked Khushi about Arush, she tried to hold him but he resisted.

"Anjaliji, I am fine with him here", said Khushi assuring Anjali.

"Ok but has he eaten anything?", asked Anjali.

"I tried for milk but I guess he isn't in the mood for it", said Khushi giving a peck over Arush's head.

"I will bring some snack for him them, we have cupcakes here", said Anjali and was about to go when Prachi stood up saying that she will get them.

Anjali thanked her and sit beside Arnav, "Haan ji enjoying so far?".

"I am waiting for this to get over soon", said Arnav without any expression.

"Haw Chottey, we worked so hard for all this, at least appreciate our efforts", said Anjali.

"Anjali ji leave him ... you know how he is.", said Khushi giving Arnav a stern look, "Everything is perfect and all the performance were superb", she give a thumbs up to Anjali.

"Thank you ... thank you", said Anjali and then give a stern look to Arnav twisting her mouth.

Arnav shakes his head and grabs her hand leaning a bit towards Anjali, "Ap ka dance acha tha".

Anjali looks at Arnav and then smiled ... it's a big thing coming from him ... she will settle on this for now.


Their attention went to the dance floor, as Payal, Aashima, Divya and Naina came in middle of dance floor, facing Khushi and Arnav.

The music started and they all started to tap their feet and hips with the slow beat of the song , "Kabira" from movie "Yeh Jawani hai Dewani".

Payal pointed towards Khushi as she came a little forward.

Aashima, Naina and Divya were a little behind Payal, dancing the steps.

Khushi felt emotional with the song and try not to cry. Arnav wound his arm around her shoulder, as he move more close to her, understanding her being emotional. Anjali smiles at her bother and remembered her won bidaai.

Garima couldn't stop the tears, just few more days and her little gudyia will leave them and go to her sasural. Buaji too was feeling emotional. Shashi wound his arm around her wife and shakes his head, telling her not to cry.

"Our bitya is in good hands ... look", said Shashi gesturing towards stage and Garima saw Arnav holding Khushi close and her head was leaning on his shoulder. Garima smiles seeing this and nodded at Shashi agreeing with him.

Rahul saw Anjali and understood what she must be thinking. He was sitting with Mamaji and Rajat, he stood up gesturing towards the stage, telling them where he is going and move ahead. He sits beside Anjali and gather her in his arms.

Nani smiles seeing both couples on the stage and send prayer to her Devi Maiya to keep them together and happy always.

Aashima, Naina, Divya and Payal dance the steps (as show in the youtube video).

Poonam was never good at dancing and also had a stage fright phobia, so she always keeps herself away from these things. And for tonight she kept herself busy with taking pictures and videos.

"She is the bride sister right?", Uday asked Akash pointing towards Payal.
"Yeah, Payal", said Akash as he was also looking at her ... only her would be more correct.

"I wish, I could get to dance with her ... she is good and beautiful too", said Uday into Akash's ear while gesturing towards Payal.

"She is not your type Uday, stay away from her", said Akash in stern tone.

"Wooh man, relax. Is there something going on between you two ... haan? Why so defensive?", Uday give him a teasing look.

"Uday, she is family. I don't want her to feel uncomfortable or want you to do something which upsets her", said Akash, thinking why he didn't like the thought of Uday and Payal dancing together ... or even their names in the same sentence.

As the lyrics ended, the song changes to another one. "Rangeelo Maro Dholna" from movie Pyar Ke Geet.

Arnav flinch back, hearing loud screeching of his sister and Khushi. He looked down at Arush who was getting irritated with the noise.

At least someone is sharing his feelings, thought Arnav with a light smile looking at his son's irritating expressions.

Then the song changes to another and they move to side.

NK, Kunal, Anuj and Neerav stand to one side in a line, while girls stood to other, leaving the space between them. They started to dance with music.

NK came near Naina, Kunal came near Payal, Anuj paired with Aashima while Neerav paired with Divya. They jumped one step to left, then to right.

They all move back and then with the beat move forwards stepping with the beat of the song.

The boys takes their partners hand and raise one leg touching with other's raise leg and dance.

The song ended and everyone clapped as Payal, Kunal, Divya, Anuj and Neerav move off the dance floor.


Khushi had made Arush eat little cupcake, he was still not in a mood for anything now. So Khushi asked Prachi to take the cupcake back and told her to eat something herself too.

Prachi move from after asking Khushi if she needs anything but Khushi denied.



NK, Naina and Aashima remained on the dance floor as the new song started.

NK was in middle and Aashima and Naina were either side of him.
They both pushed him one by one and then made the shooting with hand gestures.

They all three dance the steps, Aashima and Naina was making the NO gesture with their hands and NK was giving innocent expressions.

Everybody laughed and cheered on their dance and antics. As the song ended after a minute they all move off the dance floor.


Aashima went to stage and sit beside Khushi.

"Wah bhai, cha gaye ap toh", said Khushi patting Aashima's shoulder.

"Thank you ... and what about my baby ... did you like the aashi aunty's dance", said Aashima as taps his cheek.

Arush mood had gotten better now, he smiles at Aashima, who lovingly pinch his cheek, "Hayee sharam arahi hai ...".

"Oye don't tease my baby", said Khushi.

"Jiju ... whats the matter, you are so quiet today", said Aashima looking over to Arnav.

"Your Jiju doesn't like all this shor sharaba", said Khushi twisting her mouth at Arnav who give a light smile and said, "True".

"Arey Jiju, you really are bore", said Aashima, "Little bit romantic toh hona chahiye", as she nudge Khushi.

"Ask your friend how romantic I am ... Kion Khushi", said Arnav as he winked at Khushi and stood up, "I will be back in a minute". He touches Anjali's shoulder and went in direction of Aman.

Anjali and Rahul were talking about the performances, so didn't hear Aashima's conversation.

"Abh toh batana patrey ga, Jiju kitney romantic hain", said Aashima teasing Khushi while she just blushed and warned Aashima to not say anything like that again in front of Arnav.

Meanwhile another song started and much to Khushi's surprise Nani, Akash, Mamaji, Mamiji and Buaji, NK came on the dance floor.

"Buaji will dance?", asked Khushi in shock surprise looking at Aashima.

"Yup", said Aashima as the music begins.

"How you guys made Buaji agree for this?", asked Khushi and Aashima just shrugs, "Secret hai baby".

The music started of the song "ude jub jub zulfein teri", from movie "Naya Daur".

Buaji, Nani and Mamiji came in line from side, while NK, Akash and Mamaji came on the dance floor from other side.

"What the?", said Arnav as he saw his Nani dancing with Akash. Aman suppress his chuckle seeing the shock expression on his face.

Mamaji lips sync the lyrics moving his legs and then he twirls Mamiji and made the gesture of hitting on her hips.

Arnav close his eyes, horrified at the scene. Aman could no longer controlled and burst out laughing. Enjoying Arnav's expression more than the dance.

"Kia baat hai Bhaisahab", said Shalini Masi and cheered for her sister as well.

Mamaji and Mamaji move to the side and then Buaji and NK came in the middle of the dance floor.

NK takes Buaji's hand and move around in circles and then nudge his shoulder with hers.

"Buuaajiii ... Cha gaye tusi teh", Payal nudge buaji, making Buaji blushed as she move past the naughty girls and sit beside Garima.

"Ok now this one is for you", said Aashima leaning towards Khushi.

"What is for Khushi?", asked Arnav as heard Aashima while coming on the stage, after talking to Aman.

"This song Jiju", said Aashima.

"Hey Khushi ...", Aman said in the mike. "This one is for you my desi girl".

Arnav raise his eyebrow at him and then look at Khushi who was excited and blushing a little.

Aman brings his hand near his mouth in a mike gesture and lip sync the lyrics and pointed towards Khushi with other hand.

Aman came near him and pushed him.
They both were pretending to be more good and smitten for Khushi.

Khushi climb down the stage and put hand in NK's hand as he take her with him in middle on the stage. Arnav too stood up with Arush in his arm and move at the edge of stage.

Khushi come in middle of Aman and NK. They all three dance the same steps from the original song. Everyone clapped and cheered for them.

Aman crouch down on knees, looking at Khushi's waist. Arnav raise his eyebrow at him. Aman stood up quickly as his eyes fell on Arnav.

They all three dance the steps together.

The music came on and Arush was wiggling in Arnav arm to be led down. Arnav carefully put Arush on the floor. Who move towards his Mama.

Khushi bend down and caught Arush's both hands in hers and started dancing with him.

Aashima eyes fell on Rohan, who was standing beside the dance floor, looking at Khushi and Arush dancing. She didn't like the way he was looking at Khushi. She stood up and went to him.

As the song continued Aman and NK dance around Khushi and Arush.

Khushi lip sync the lyrics and send teasing gestures and glances towards Arnav ... who was just looking at his beautiful bride-to-be dancing abundantly with the beat of the song. Her hips moving gracefully, her slim body and smile teasing him.
He so wanted to go there and pull her close to him, wanting to touch her body from up and down to his heart content. His hands itched to roam around her milky waist peeking through the dupatta as she dances. He wanted to tear away both NK and Aman from her sides, though he knew well they don't have any bad intentions other than genuine love and friendship for Khushi, but still the possessiveness in him for Khushi making him irritated at their closeness.

God dammit, how much more he has to wait to have her in his arms without an audience around, he thought. . He so wanted to kiss her senseless and just waiting for this to over asap.

Rohan tear his eyes away when he hears someone behind him, "You like her, don't you", said Aashima from behind him.

Rohan look her stern expression, he was not the one to back off or coward away, "Yes I do".

"For god sakes, she is marrying someone and you are looking at her like ... like ... that", said Aashima gesturing to his face.

"Excuse me, I know she is taken. And who said that there is only one type of liking. I like her as a friend. But apparently she can be friends with everyone else ... but not me", said Rohan, doesn't know why he is explaining or complaining all this to Aashima.

"Have you given her a reason to be friends with you?", asked Aashima. Rohan looked her a bit confused, "Reason?".

"All you have done is accused and blame ASR since the time you have met her", said Aashima. Rohan eyes widened a bit in realization.

"Yes she told me", said Aashima reading the unsaid question in his eyes.

"So you are here to defend Arnav then", said Rohan in annoyed tone.

"No, I just wanted to know why you try to engage with her when you know very well that ASR doesn't like it", said Aashima.

"Well I don't care about what he likes or thinks", said Rohan getting angry now. Why everyone thinks Arnav to be a saint, he thought irritatingly.

"But you do care about what Khushi thinks right?", said Aashima and then continued seeing Rohan's thoughtful expression.

"She loves and cares about ASR a lot, may be more than we can ever imagine. She knows that he doesn't like you but still she tries her best not to make you feel bad or ignored. Try to mend your ways with ASR, Khushi will automatically extend her hand of friendship to you ...if you keep on harboring hate for ASR, then forget it that you can ever be friends with Khushi.", said Aashima and move from there.

She doesn't know why she did, what she did. Khushi had told Aashima about her conversations with Rohan. Aashima told Khushi not to be nice with Rohan when he is not going to be. But Khushi made her understand that Rohan had loss his only sibling, her sister and here he doesn't have real friends, everyone else tries to keep their distance with him due to Arnav. So he feels lonely and needs a true friend.
And Aashima knows well how it is like to be without their friends when she was aboard for her masters. She had missed Khushi, Divya, Poonam and even NK very much and took a semester break and came back to be around her close ones.
She had seen Rohan being aloof on Mehendi night and even tonight ... standing away from all other, not taking part in anything. She also noticed that except for Anjali and Nani no one really talks to him. And she felt a little sad for him and wanted to do something about this whole situation ... the reason unknown to her.

NK hugged Khushi, taking her off the ground and twirl her as the song ended. Everyone clapped and cheered for them.

Arnav frowned as he saw NK saying something to Khushi and she worriedly glance at Arnav. Khushi shakes her head, but then nodded when NK said something to her ... his expression serious.
Arnav wanted to go to her and ask them what's going on but just then NK move from there and went to DJ, whose setup was arrange at the right side behind the sitting arrangement.

Khushi picked Arush and came to Arnav, "Arnavji hold him please".

Arnav takes Arush, "Khushi what's the matter?", asked Arnav.

"You will know in a minute, but don't mind it please, it's just for fun", said Khushi and move back.

"Khushi ...", Arnav wanted to stop her but Khushi give him a smile assuring him with her eyes.

Khushi called out to Minnie and said something to her. Minnie run back to her seat and retrieve her hat from under it and give it to Khushi.

Khushi put the cap on and went in middle of the dance floor.

"Arnav come on ... sit", said Anjali from behind, "I think she is going to dance".

Arnav went to the sofa and sit beside Anjali. She took Arush from him and places him on her lap.

"Look shona, Mama is going to dance", said Anjali

"Alush bhi danch mama pass", said Arush and tried to move down.

"Arush... No", Arnav said in stern tone. "Come here", he takes his hand and pulls him in between his legs. Arush look up at his papa and then at his mama.

"We will see Mama dance from here", said Arnav softly, "Won't my baby sit with Papa?".

"Papa pass", said Arush nodding his head and leaned back on Arnav's legs.

Anjali smile seeing their interaction, happy that both father and son are bonding.
