Part 23

People simply poured in to Geet, to congratulate her for her work, asking her inspiration and what not. Maan had many times tried to talk to her but seeing her being kept busy by people’s enthusiasm, he let her enjoy her first success. This would let her know her worth.

She was a gem, he had found it and now he felt so proud that this gem was his. She was his. Natural smile formed on his face.

Geet has been working with Angelina getting their setup ready set go. They were busy with finalizing their first product launch, Marketing strategy etc, while Rick hung around Maan trying to pull him in for some sightseeing, which Maan tried best to escape.

Thus Rick was stuck with Maan to discuss their other business partnership.

Later Maan arranged for an exclusive tour for Angelina and Rick and they set off for tour after Geet and Angelina were done finalizing their plans.

It was Sunday and Geet was relaxing after her hectic days with Angelina since their Mega launch and press conference.

She was sitting alone in the grand garden of the bungalow sipping her tea with plain rusk when she felt a hard press on her shoulders. She turned and a smile formed on her face vanishing the loneliness. She got up and hugged him. He wrapped his hands around her , taking her in his wide warm embrace

“Missed you”

“Then why are you all alone here? That’s your house more than mine, you know right?” She nodded with a smile, still cocooned in his chest

“Still you wait for an invitation. Why were you sitting alone here when the whole family is out there? And you know the biggest problem is” he asked cupping her face

“They place all blame of your unavailability on me” Geet laughed “They love you so much” she teased him

“Don’t tell me” he shook his head but his eyes stuck on her beautiful face laughing heartily. The bright sunlight and laugh brought a different glow on her face and Maan was lost in her. ohhh … his selfish heart has proposed to her indirectly and how lucky he was that she accepted it.

Geet turned to find his deep looks fixed on her face. It was so deep, she looked down to not show its effects on her but still a pink hue covered her face. Maan stretched his hand to get hold of her wrist and pulled her. Geet reached him in a jerk and slightly hit his chest. Her heart has already lost its control. She kept digging her look on the ground as her lips were already shaky with anticipation and happening of her heart.

Maan lifted her face up by his fingers on her chin. He could see her soft very pink lips shaking, inviting his greedy ones. He pulled her to him even closer and teased his lips on hers, making her open hers in wants. But Maan somehow wanted to play along and instead rolled his tongue around hers. And next Geet did, what he wanted , she pulled him closer by his napes and pushed her tongue inside his mouth, rolling it all over. Maan didn’t take time to push his tongue inside her and sucked everything inside into a deep passionate kiss.

“I have no problem visiting you every time but I want to feel special sometimes, “ he teased her, still keeping her in his embrace.

“I know my proposal was not optimal but don’t you dare think I am equally unromantic “ he warned

“Maan you know…” she blushed heavily, getting reminded of the fact that he had really proposed to her and it was the reality of her life. Maan, her dream was the reality of her life now.

Geet moved her hands on his front and moved her palms on his front above his shirt, absorbing her new place. Yes, it was his heart.

“Are you really sure you want me to accompany” She asked unsure

“Of course. You should. Especially now that you have agreed to join my family. You are going to be integral part of Nyru’s life and I want everyone to know this clearly”

She nodded

“If it’s an extra burden on you then…”

“Maan, I am feeling so honored by you wishing to involve me with Nyra’s responsibility. I would love to support you in the making of her. I will get to be around her and you, what else could I ask for. I am getting..”

“Hold on… hold on.. Or else I will start counting on how fortunate I am getting”

“Shut up” they laughed and left for the final- out of court settlement

In the big old library were seated the family of Maan and Sameera on opposite sides. Maan and Geet in the center on his family side while Samera and Ashish on Sam’s family side. Nyra ran and came to her Dadda

“Daddaaaa….” She was so excited to find her Dadda. Maan placed her on his lap, while she stretched and kissed his cheeks. And then turned to find Geet there. She stretched from Maan’s lap to hug Geet. Geet bent to hug her back. Maan kept her locked on his one long thigh with his one hand and while kept checking the documents from othe, un-wavered by Nyra's continuous movement on him, turning all around to wave at everyone.

“See, she is in good hands.” showed Ashish to Sameera. Even Sameera thought it was better to give Nyra to Maan. She has no chance there and she has her life only with Ashish. And in this life, Nyra will only get a secondary position.Now, even Sam wanted to focus on her new family. She wanted to be free from hanging in the middle.

Only one thing that Sam felt jealous of was to see Geet beside Maan and Nyra. She then looked at Ashish. Ashish was all in to proceed in life with her. He gave her enough importance and was possessive for her. She should focus on Ashish. For her Maan had been a husband busy only in making his career while she kept asking for his time. Ashish gives her that in abundance. Well, there is a small difference she is trying to ignore. For Maan, even his more time was never enough for her and in case of Ashish, she is fine with whatever time they spend together, the hunger of more is missing with Ashish.

But overall, she has to compromise and be happy with whatever she has rather than running for something that she has lost.

Sameera’s family saw Maan with Geet and happy Nyra between them. They could clearly see what their daughter had lost. Cheated on a husband like Maan. But now Ashish was there, what could they do? Now she was becoming the mother of Asish’s child, so they too wanted Sam to at least have a focused life with Ashish.

Maan’s heartbeat rose as Sam signed the document, he signed the document, family members as witness and Geet and Ashish as well as witness.

Nyra will now be in Maan’s custody. Sam can meet Nyra every six months and keep her at her place for a continuous period of two weeks. This was done on the point raised by Maan’s lawyer that if Nyra does not stay at one home for a longer stretch she will never have the feeling of belonging.

Sam could not say much as Ashish who wanted Nyra out of his and Sam’s life, readily agreed

“This is your chance to focus on your ‘this’ family Sam. Nyra is going to place where she will get all the world's love ”

She nodded and the agreement was signed with everyone’s positive nod on it. Everyone got up and Nyra looked up at Maan. He signaled her to go to her Mom. And she ran and went to her mother

Sam hugged and kissed Nyra and Nyra hugged her Mom and placed tight kisses on her cheeks. “Mumma tell the baby, Nyru loves the baby”

“Of course darling. And Mumma knows Nyru will be very happy with Dadda. Dadda’s girl” she pulled her cheeks

“Nyru loves Mumma, Dadda both” “Go… and be a good girl. Let Dadda know that Mumma made Nyru a good girl”

Six year old Nyra, who since her senses has known that she has to only stay with either of her parents. She has never seen them together so she didn’t even have that expectation.

She has grown up seeing her Mom with Ashish Uncle and Dad alone. So now seeing Geet around Dad didn’t bring any negative feelings to her. She felt happy instead. Ashish Uncle was never good with her but Geet is so sweet and loving to her. She enjoys being around Geet and Geet never takes her Dadda away from her unlike Ashish uncle who never lets her Mumma be near her.

Ashish left with Sam. Sam looked at Geet beside Maan along with his whole family. Geet’s position in Maan’s life was clear to her. And this is what Maan had intended. Set straight Sam’s expectations. Geet will be the integral part of his and Nyra’s new life.

Maan picked Nyra in his arms while a line of servants took Nyra’s stuff. How could Nyra not be more happy to be here, she was treated as the most loved and pampered child here while there she was pushed in one corner with facilities but still felt secondary.

Maan, Geet and Nyra settled in Maan’s luxury car while other family members in their respective cars

Geet thought of giving some privacy to his family with Nyra

“Maan drop me at Worli” before Maan could say anything his little princess did his job

“Geet don’t want to be with Nyra” she pouted and crossed her hands on her chest

“ No dear, Geet loves Nyra so much.. asked your Dadda..” she looked at Maan when Nyra jerked her hand away from her

“Maan explain her” she pleaded looking at Maan

But he was of no help. Maan shrugged his shoulders

“What do I say? Today we are all doing what Nyra wish”

Geet looked at Maan and pouted to only get naughty smile from him

“Yes, only Geet don’t care for Nyru ” Nyra added with anger. Ohh for any reason, how could she deny her sweetheart

She bent to Nyra “How will Geet play with angry Nyra”

The excitement on little girl’s face could be seen

“You coming?“ Geet nodded and Nyra hugged her tightly.

As they entered the house, Nyra in the center held both Maan’s and Geet’s hand. The professional photographers were ready to take pictures of Nyra entering the decorated house. Seeing their perfect family pose they started clicking Nyra between Maan and Geet, her tiny hands connecting them. Geet tried to move apart so that father-daughter pictures could be taken, but Nyra pulled her with her tiny hand and Maan added by wrapping his hands around Geet.

His proposal may be weird but once done, he was clear Geet was completely included. The family could clearly envisage the wonderful family their Maan is going to cherish after years of vagabond life. They were also happy to become family to Geet. The girl, so sweet, loving and hard working. Se did deserve much better family life than what the life has thrown at her so far

Later, the little princess walked between the balloons and hanging stars and toys.

The photographers were sent off and doors closed. Nyra had long back ran to Meera’s room to play with her little brother. Veer had caught a cold and so Meera and Veer stayed at home.

Geet looked around the happy family, chattering around with happiness of their princess at last coming back to their family. They would have always wanted the child to be with her mother but the painful part was the reason for Sam cheating on Maan- him making her pregnant so soon. Her becoming mother so soon had fueled her to cheat on her husband. How good a mother would she be? And it came out true with the way Nyra was made to feel like a secondary child there.

Vicky and Maan were chatting, Annie was holding Geet like a childhood friend while talking to her Mom. Dadima was showing her happiness to her son. Such a high profile family, whose personal life cannot be peeped into, was such a cute family in reality.

Slowly everyone dispersed other than Sandhya, Maan and Geet. Sandhya had to talk to Geet. But she was surprised to see Maan still standing there. In regular case, after handing Nyra to his family he would be off to his room

“Geet, come dear. Till your room is being set up, I want to have some talk with you” Maan looked at his Mom, while Geet looked at Maan

“Why are you still here? Do you need anything” Sandhya asked Maan, clearly indicating him to leave

Maan looked at Geet “See, and you think they love me” he taunted, making Geet and his Mom laugh. Maan shook his head and left.

Sandhya took Geet with her while Maan lay on his bed, feeling the peace of his life. His two precious girls, getting love and care from his family.

“Come dear” Sandhaya let Geet in her room. She made Geet sit in front of the mirror

“What’s the matter Aunty”

“Aunty??” Sandhya said in horror. “You are calling me anything other than Mom, I am not responding” Sandhya said with Anger on her face. Uff… the whole family has a unique way of making her do things and showering their love on her… From Nyra to Nyra’s grand Mom

Geet smiled with blush. Sandhya held her chin up “I know it was not as romantic. but he proposed and you accepted. So we are already into preparation of bringing you permanently here as soon as possible”

Sadhya kept talking as she kept decorating the grand dresser with various exclusive and immensely expensive jewelries.

“Don’t tell me, the great business tycoon has not yet found a proper proposal for this wonderful girl”

“Aunty….” Sandhya showed her big eyes “I mean Mom” Geet felt a different sensation as she spoke Mom to Sandhya. The memory of Nina surfaced and the mother in Sandhya was quick to read it

She cupped Geet’s face and she settled beside her “Now this is your world, your family in all ways. Wash off those old memories. This is where you belong and this is your life. It is yours and I want you to take it with an open heart and full right. Promise me, you will never compare what you are getting here with what you did not get there. Start completely fresh Geet, just like Maan is doing. Both of you deserve the full of each other.” Geet looked at the love Sandhya has and also understood her concerns

“Are you getting what I am talking dear”

“Yes Mom. I promise I will never let my past come into the memory. I will belong to this family and Maan wholly”

“Good… and that means you are not shying away from what this family of yours give you just like we will not shy away from showing our rights on you”

Geet laughed “I promise”

“And that means, you are showing your tantrums to our great Maan Singh Khurana and demand his time and attention with full authority”

Geet laughed “I will”

With that Sandhya was done laying innumerable exclusive sets on the grand dresser in front of Geet. She wondered what were those for?
