~~~~~~
When Khushi returned from her meeting it was 8:30 PM. She came to the Kitchen to find Sandhya cooking dinner.
"Arre Khushi Bhabhi, you are back." Sandhya smiled at her.
"Yes Sandhyaji. How is Arnav? Did he wake up?" Khushi asked.
"No, I checked about 20 minutes ago, he is still sleeping." Sandhya replied. "Bhabhi I am done with the dinner."
"Alright Sandhyaji you can leave for the day. I'll manage the rest." Khushi reassured her and moved upstairs to check on Arnav.
As Khushi entered the room Arnav had just woken up and was rubbing his eyes. He was a bit surprised to see Khushi back already.
"Khushi? You are back so early?" He asked.
"Early? Look at the time." She gestured towards the clock.
Arnav was shocked to see the time. "Gosh! Did I really sleep that long? That's strange, I'm never able to sleep in the day."
Khushi couldn't meet his eyes. "Uh... yeah... but you have been staying awake for the last 4 days, maybe that's why..."
"Yeah maybe..." he shrugged.
"How are you feeling now?" She asked coming forward.
"Hmmm... much better." He said and got off the bed in a swift movement. But as soon as he stood up, his head spun and he staggered a little. Khushi quickly grabbed his shoulders and made him sit.
"Careful Arnav. You should avoid sudden movements." She said softly.
Forgetting his dizziness, Arnav stared at her. She was being so caring. She gave him a glass of water and sat next to him while he calmed down. He felt better just seeing her worried for him. He was ready to stay unwell all his life just to experience her care and concern.
"Is it better? She asked and he nodded. "You freshen up and then we'll have dinner." She told him and helped him get up. She then moved out of the room to get the dinner.
~~~~~~

"Khushi I would have liked to have dinner downstairs." Arnav said when he saw Khushi arranging dinner on the coffee table in their room.

"Arnav at least for a couple of days stay in the room. Just now we saw what happened when you suddenly got up. I don't think using the stairs would be good for you." She said. "Please listen to me just this once."

"Okay whatever you say." He agreed. He was liking the way she was talking to him and didn't want to upset her.

Khushi felt relieved that for once he wasn't arguing and doing as she said.

After dinner Khushi gave him his meds which he took without argument. When Khushi came back to the room after putting away the dishes she saw Arnav had opened up his laptop and was trying to check his mails.

"Oh God! Arnav why can't you just rest?" She asked exasperated.

"Just 10 minutes Khushi. I can't sleep immediately after eating." He replied.

Khushi knew that the sleeping pill would soon take its effect so she didn't argue much. About 15 minutes later, Arnav stretched feeling his eyelids droop.

"I can't believe after sleeping the whole day, I'm again feeling sleepy." He thought aloud.

"Maybe all the stress and the accident is taking its toll." Khushi suggested pressing her lips together.

"Yeah maybe." He agreed and turned the laptop off unable to control the sleep any longer.

~~~~~~
By the time Arnav woke up next morning, Khushi had already gotten ready and gone down for breakfast. When she came back to the room with his breakfast, he had taken his bath and was sitting on the bed.
He smiled when he saw her, "You know Khushi; this is getting kind of out of hand. Something is wrong. This isn't the 1st time I have gone without sleep but never before I have had this kind of an after effect. Something seems to be wrong with my system."
Khushi felt a little guilty for deceiving him like that. "Um... Arnav actually there's nothing wrong." She said slowly and he looked at her confused. "You know I was really annoyed that you weren't listening to me and not taking any rest. So I told Doctor Chacha about it and he had prescribed a sleeping pill among your meds."
He looked at her shocked. "You had me on SLEEPING PILLS? And that too without telling me?"
"It was prescribed for you Arnav and it was important for you to take rest." She replied guiltily.
"I don't care." He said through gritted teeth trying hard not to get mad. He looked at the tray of his breakfast where the meds were kept. "Which one of these is the sleeping pill?" He demanded.
"Please Arnav. You have to take the pills only for today after that there won't be any need for it." Khushi pleaded.
"Tell me which of these is the sleeping pill or I will not have any of the meds." He threatened.
Khushi reluctantly pointed out the sleeping pill. He checked it carefully. "I'm not taking it. Take it away."
"But Arnav..."
"I said I'm not taking it." He declared.
She took the tablets and left for work.
~~~~~~

Khushi had a lot of work that day and she returned almost the same time as the previous day. She smiled when she saw Arnav sleeping and went in the bathroom to change. She came down after that to help with dinner. When she came back with Arnav's dinner he was awake and working on his laptop but he glared as soon as he saw her.

"You lied to me." He stated accusingly.

"What? When did I lie?" She asked him with narrowed eyes.

"About the sleeping pills. You lied about them didn't you? I slept all day even today." He grumbled.

Khushi looked away trying to suppress a grin. "I did not lie Arnav. The tablet I took away was the sleeping pill, check the name and Google it if you like." She suggested.

"Then how come I spent the whole day sleeping?" He asked angrily.

Khushi walked up to him and sat next to him sighing. "Arnav why are you so hell bent on ignoring your health. You had to take the sleeping pills only for two days, not just for resting but also because of the accident injuries."

"That's not the answer to my question." He said keeping his glare steady.

"Ok fine. I asked Sandhyaji to dissolve the tablet in your Dal during lunch. Happy?" He said exasperatedly.

"In my Dal?" He asked with disbelief.

She nodded not meeting his eyes.

"Unbelievable!" He exclaimed. "Khushi I told you I didn't want any sleeping pills..."

"And I told you that they are important for you." She cut him off. "I know you don't like having them Arnav but trust me, there is no one in this world who LIKES taking medicines. Tonight you have to take the last pill and no matter how I am going to make you take it." She said with determination.

"I'd like to see you try." He challenged. "I have work to do and I need to stay awake."

"I don't care. You need rest and I'm going to ensure that you get it." She argued.

"I'm not taking the tablet of my own will and I'm not going to have Dal, so you don't stand a chance." He smirked.

"Oh I have other options, like the Sabzi gravy, the buttermilk or even water since the pill is tasteless." She shrugged.

Arnav was surprised by her reply and looked at her with raised eyebrow. Khushi couldn't hold it anymore and smiled chuckling lightly. Arnav too joined shaking his head.

"Arnav please don't be difficult. It's the last dose." She said after a while. "You can work from tomorrow, I won't stop you."

"Yeah alright." He said giving up. "And besides, if you are planning to dissolve it in water then I don't have much of a choice, do I? I rather take it willingly."

She smiled. "That's better. Come let's have dinner."

~~~~~~
Next morning Arnav had to admit to himself that he was indeed feeling much better and refreshed. So he and Khushi had breakfast together and he was liking the friendly atmosphere that they were sharing since last night.
"Arnav there is hardly anything for me to do here but my presence is needed for the next five days." She said casually. "But I think I can come back early.
"Can I come to drop you today? I'm sick and tired of this room." He complained.
"No Arnav, I don't think you should drive yet. Sit downstairs if you don't want to sit here." She suggested.
He frowned but gave in knowing he wasn't going to win the argument at least until his wife was sure of his recovery.
Khushi then did something that Arnav had not expected at all. She ran her hand through his hair. He just stared at her surprised by the gesture and overwhelmed by the feel of her touch in his hair. He recovered after sometime, "Khushi? Uh..."
Her hand was still in his hair feeling his scalp. "I can see that the bump on your forehead is fine now, so I was just checking if the other bump is gone." She explained. "I can't find it, so that must be fine too." She said getting up to leave.
He caught her wrist to stop her and stood up slowly. She turned to look at him. Arnav took a step closer to her and spoke looking at her intently. "I thought you didn't like to touch me."
Khushi's eyes widened hearing that from him and she turned away. She had just instinctively checked for the bump in his hair. She hadn't even realised that until he had pointed out. "I... I was... just checking... I didn't... I mean..." She stuttered and tried to free her hand from his grip.
He didn't let go and instead cupped her face with his other hand. "Relax Khushi, it's okay. Just as You are Mine, I'm yours too. So you can touch me when you feel like it." He said in a soft husky voice.
Khushi gulped and wondered why she was feeling lost for words. After gaining some composure she said, "I'm getting late. Please I've to go." She pleaded unable to look at him.
He let go of her not wanting to make her feel awkward.
Khushi left from there immediately. At work she tried to be normal and concentrate on the job at hand but there was a raging conflict in her heart... Arnav's words echoed in her brain,
Just as You are Mine, I'm yours too.
She too was surprised now that she was thinking about it. How could she just go ahead and run her fingers through his hair. She couldn't deny she felt very anxious about Arnav's health whenever she was at work and wondered what it was all about. It was starting to feel a bit weird and before it went out of hand, she decided that it was just because of the accident that she was worried for him and nothing else.
And as far as touching him was concerned, it was just to check on his injury and nothing else, she told herself and shrugged off the uneasiness.
~~~~~~

On returning back, Khushi didn't find Arnav in their room or the living room either. She got a little worried, wondering if he had gone out somewhere and checked with Sandhyaji.

"Oh Arnav Bhaiya is in the room. I gave him his coffee some time ago." Sandhya replied. "Did you check in the balcony? He was sitting there doing his work."

"Oh... Okay. No I didn't check there. I'll have a look." She said and returned to their room.

She saw him sitting in an armchair in the balcony, he was working. She walked up to him and greeted him, "Hi."

He looked up and smiled. "Hi."

"How are you feeling today? I hope you haven't been working all day." She asked.

"Yeah I'm feeling better today. And I did rest in the afternoon. I didn't want you to put me on sleeping pills again." He grinned.

"You actually took rest?" She asked with disbelief. "Were you feeling dizzy or something?"

"No, no don't worry. I'm fine." He reassured her. "It's just that... I was thinking that if I took proper rest today then maybe you'll let me drop you to work tomorrow."

"Arnav..."

"Please Khushi. I'm really bored staying locked up in the house. I'll feel better if I go out for sometime." He almost pleaded.

Khushi thought for a while and then frowned. "But if you drop me then you'll be alone while coming back. What if you feel uneasy then?"

"But I can manage that much." He protested.

"Ummm... no, I'll be free in the evening so we'll go out, maybe have dinner out. I hardly know this place so we can just drive around a little too. Is that okay?" She asked.

Arnav was once again surprised that Khushi had actually suggested that they go out for dinner and a long drive. He couldn't believe his ears. But he didn't want to let go of the opportunity. "Yeah Okay. That would be fine." He agreed readily.

"Alright then I'll return at around five in the evening and then we'll leave." She suggested.

Khushi too was surprised that she had herself asked Arnav to take her out for dinner. But then she decided that she just wanted to see the city and since Arnav knew the place from his childhood she had suggested that they go out.

Arnav was just too happy to think about reasons and was already looking forward to the next day evening.
