Chapter 31

Other things that happened during the three weeks.

Two weeks had gone by and only a week left for the show. Venue was already set. Aman had been given the information to give to the media in two days time. Invitations had gone out. It was the talk of the fashion world that AR's new collections will be coming soon on the fashion ramp. Models and designers were already at the venue for rehearsals and of course last minute fittings. The only person not there was Arnav.

Arnav himself was busy getting other projects sorted out before he had to go because this fashion show was the biggest AR had to deal with. The collection was bigger and better than before and the entire fashion world would be talking about this show. Arnav always made sure of that that his company was always at the top.

Akash was also very busy. He knew once Arnav had gone he would have to look after everything or so he thought until the surprise he received in two days' time at breakfast.

Everyone was sitting for breakfast.

Akash: Bhai is everything sorted for the show?

Arnav: Almost. All the models, clothes and designers are all at the venue doing last minute rehearsals.

Anjali: Chote where have set the venue this year?

Arnav: Mumbai.

Everyone except Akash looked at him in shock.

Anjali: Mumbai? How long are you going to be there for?

Arnav: Di about three days.

Anjali: Are you going on your own?

Arnav: Di I am going for work not pleasure.

Anjali: It's just that it would be nice if you took Khushiji with you. You can show her the sights.

Arnav: Di I said I am going for work not fun. Khushi would end up being bored there while I am working the whole time.

Anjali: But Chote you won't be working the whole time?

Arnav: Di when was the last time you didn't see me not working when there was a fashion show?

Anjali thought and she always remembered how work came first before rest or relaxation for Arnav. Even then he only relaxed doing his gardening nothing else. Shyam was hearing all this and thought good Arnav is going and leaving Khushiji behind. Maybe now I can get to talk to her. He had that evil look on his face.

Shyam: Rani sahiba sale saheb is right. While he is working what will Khushiji be doing there?

Arnav, Khushi and Payal looked at Shyam. Shyam just looked at Arnav with that evil smirk. Then his eyes darted towards Khushi who just looked away. Arnav just wanted to punch his lights out at that moment. He was trying really hard to keep his temper in check. He went back to his breakfast not being in the best of moods. Once breakfast was over Khushi, Arnav and Akash headed off to the office.

Arnav got to the office and was still in a bad mood. Flashes of Shyam's face were coming in front of him. He even remembered what he saw on the terrace knowing full well what he saw was only half off what had really happened that night. He put his head back on his chair; eyes closed and started thinking really hard. I can't leave her here not with him around, I can't leave her here not with him around, I can't leave her here not with around. This one thought carried of spinning in his head. He was bought out of his thoughts when Aman came to get some papers signed. While Arnav was signing the papers Aman told him about the deal with the Kapoors. Arnav then remembered the conferences were also in Mumbai during the end of the week. Suddenly an idea struck him. He gave Aman instructions and he himself got on to the phone to make certain arrangements. The rest of the day everything went as usual.

Next morning at breakfast.

Arnav: Akash I had forgotten that there are also conferences going on at the end of the week in Mumbai.

Akash: So how many days are you going to be in Mumbai?

Arnav: Who says only I'm going? You're coming with me.

Akash: What? Bhai how can I? What about everything here?

Arnav: We still have a few more days to sort out the work here. Mamaji can you look after the offices here?

Mama: Yes. Of course Arnav beta.

Arnav: Oh by the way Di, you'll be happy to hear this. Khushi and Payal are coming with us.

Akash almost choked on his food when he heard this. Payal was busy patting Akash's back to stop him from choking then handed him a glass of water from the jug. Everyone else were busy staring at Arnav when he said that while Arnav just carried on having his breakfast. He then realised everyone had stopped eating and busy looking at him.

Arnav: What?

Anjali: Chote when did you decide this?

Arnav: Decide what Di?

Anjali: That Akash, Khushiji and Payalji are also going with you?

Arnav: Look di I will be busy on the show so someone has to go to the conferences on behalf of AR. The conferences are spread over two days and they are about half a day for each day. Now as Akash is going naturally Payal is going to go with him but during the hours that Payal would be at the hotel she may get bored so Khushi may as well come. Then they can go where they want in Mumbai.

Nani: No Chote. You can't send them around Mumbai on their own.

Arnav: Nani they won't be on their own I will make sure of that.

Nani: Even then I don't like the idea of them going on their own.

Arnav was getting frustrated.

Akash: It's ok Dadi. When I finish I will take them out and about. Then they won't be on their own.

Nani: That's ok then.

Anjali teasing: Chote are you sure you just want Khushi there for company for Payal or is there some other reason?

She gave Nani a smile while saying this and Nani was trying to hide the smile on her face. Khushi just ended up blushing at this. Shyam was the only one who was furious at this. Arnav saw his reaction and was trying to hide how pleased he was at this.

Arnav: Di please. You think too much.

Anjali: Ok. Ok. Well it's good that Khushiji is going. I won't need to worry about you not eating properly over there. How many days will you be there now?

Arnav: Five maybe six days. Not sure. I have to sort out a deal while I'm there. Akash we better go there are a few more details we need to go over at the office.

With that everyone went back to what they were doing.

Shyam who was the only one who was not pleased with this thought Damn you Arnav. Now I can't speak to Khushiji alone and she won't be here for five to six days. Damn you Arnav but then he remembered the file which was still in the locker. Ok maybe I can get a chance to see what is in that file. What he didn't realise was that Arnav always kept the locker key with him at all times.
