Part -38 JUST YOU AND ME...

Sandhir were sitting in the car.. Randhir was stealing glances of her.. She was looking outside the window.. Their heartbeat was at its maximum.. There was some kind of uneasiness , some kind of discomfort , some kind of an awkwardness in the car.. They both were feeling unusual together... Things have now completely changed between the two.. With no hopes but have only memories.. After half an hour , He parked the car under his building n came out of it and took out her bag.. Sanyu too came out and they both made their way towards their flat.. Since the flat was on first floor they both preferred stairs.. They both were quiet while climbing the stairs.. Sanyukta was feeling nostalgic.. Each passing second.. Each passing scene.. Was giving her memories of past.. Randhir looked back at her n passed a smile to reduce the awkwardness in the atmosphere.. She looked away.. He again looked In front.. And opened the door of the house...

They both entered in...

Sanyukta felt a lump in her throat when she looked around ... it used to be her house some day.. she used to live there... Randhir has kept the whole house clean... he didn't even change anything.. it was almost the same the way she has left..

Randhir: so mam welcome back... (he smiled)

Sanyukta: listen randhir I am here for some work.. (she spoke while sternly)

Randhir: when did I say you are here for some other reason...?? But you are here na.. for what ever reason... but you are here back again.. that is enough for me...

Sanyukta: hmmm... I think I should go and freshen up...

Randhir: yeah sure..

She picked up her bag and went to the guest room or her old room... while entering her room her gaze fell on randhir's room... her eyes became moist... she was feeling nostalgic... she somehow controlled herself and entered in...

An hour later..

Randhir knocked her room's door... after a few seconds she opened the door... and found his standing in front of her..

Randhir smiled again.. which was irritating her.. she wasn't used to this extra sweet randhir... actually she had never seen him smiling this much... she knew he was pretending to be so..

Sanyukta: what??

Randhir: come lets have dinner.. its already 9...

Sanyukta: its ok.. i will have something else.. you carry on..

Randhir: what?? Are u (he paused in irritation) come lets have dinner.. (he spoke with a little bit of dominance in her voice)

Sanyukta: ok.. I am coming...

She came out of the room.. and went to dining room... she saw him arranging the table... he was looking so enthusiastic... so happy.. she came from behind and stood there quietly looking at him... he realised her presence and turned around...

Randhir: ohh !! tum agai... come sit...

He pulled a chair for her and she sat down... she looked at bowls... She saw one bowl contained Daal , other had some vegetable and last one had rice...

Sanyukta: you cooked all these?? (raising her eye brows)

Randhir: so..?? who else will cook here?? I cook daily for myself.. (he spoke sitting down)

Sanyukta: hmmm... but you don't like rice... I guess...

Randhir: you still remember..?? (again with a smile.. he was happy that she still remembers his dislikes)

Sanyukta nodded in embarrassement...

Randhir: I don't know how to make chapaties.. tried to learn a lot from internet... but i couldn't... (he made a disappointing face)

Sanyukta: its easy...

Randhir: hehehe... For you.. not for me.. I don't know how to nid the dough... I always add a lot of water... (he giggled)

She smiled looking at him...

Randhir started pouring daal in the bowls...

Sanyukta: randhir.. can I cook roties for you?? I know you never liked rice...

Randhir: sanyukta now I love them... there are a lot of things which I used to dislike before but now I love them... its just that I had never gave them chance before.. now they are important part of my life...

Sanyukta understood where he was pointing at...

Sanyukta: hmmm...

Randhir: by the way.. just taste it and tell me kesa bana h?? I know I can never match upto you.. but still I tried... kam chalao to bana hi leta hoo (he made a puppy face)

Sanyukta took some rice in the spoon and dipped them in daal and put the bite in her mouth... it was good..

Sanyukta: its good randhir... very tasty...

Randhir: don't lie ok... theek thak hoga... (he smiled)

Sanyukta: no its very tasty.. trust me..

This time he just blushed..

Randhir: thank you.. (he just bow down a little)

They both exchanged a smile and started eating...

After having done with the dinner... sanyukta got up and took her plate to the kitchen to wash.. randhir too came from behind and kept the other utensils in the kitchen.. he saw her washing the plate .. then he interrupted...

Randhir: sanyukta don't... tomorrow maid will come.. she will clean everything... you don't have to worry...

Sanyukta: ohh... ok...

She came outside the kitchen and started walking towards her room... just then...

Randhir: sanyu listen.. ( he called out from behind)

She turned around and

Sanyu: hmmm??

Randhir: (went near her ) I know we have a lot of differences now... but hum thodi der baat to kar sakte h na (he looked at her with a lot of hope in his eyes)

Sanyu: hmmm... ok...

Randhir : (he smiled) tum waha betho (signalling towards drawing room) I am just coming...

Sanyukta agreed and went to the drawing room.. she sat on the couch... and was waiting for him to come... he came inside after 5 minutes with two bowls in his hands.. she frowned looking at him... he kept the bowl on the table in front and sat next to her... she looked at the bowls which had ice cream...

Randhir: your favorite flavor...

She felt a lump in her throat... why was he doing all this?? Or she knew the reason.. but for her she has came too far this time... going back wont be possible for her this time... he is keeping false hopes...

Sanyukta: thank you... ( picking up one of the bowls)

Randhir: so madam... kya kiya itne din mere bina... I know you must have enjoyed a lot without me...

Sanyukta was getting confused with his behaviour... he was that Randhir whom she knew.. he was someone new... with no arrogance.. no anger... he was talking too sweetly and casualy... which is not his usual nature... she was wondering has he really changed?? Or he is just pretending...

Sanyukta: i... i... vo... (she didn't want to tell him that she had died every single second without him..)

Randhir: (raised an eye brow) I .. i.. as in??

Sanyukta: I have started working in a new company in jaipur... now I am on maternal leave...

Randhir: ohh haa... I forgot to ask you.. how are the babies?? ( taking bite of ice cream) mom bata rahe thi bhot shaitan h.. tumko bhot pareshan karte h...

Each passing second was getting even more difficult for her to hold herself back...

Sanyukta: (gulped) yeah.. they are very naughty.. (she faked a smile)

Randhir: akhir bache kiske h...?? me konsa kam tha... (he laughed)

Sanyukta : hmmm... (she tried to put a smile on her face but couldn't)

Randhir: vese tum moti ho gayi hoo... but you look cute...

Sanyukta: and you have become very weak.. look at you.. these dark circles... this pale face... you must be ignoring your health...

Randhir: there is no one to take care of me sanyukta now... I am all alone here... no one to talk.. no one to share dinner table with me...no body cares where I am alive or not...

Her eyes became moist... she was very well aware what was he going through... she had gone through the same ...

Sanyukta: esa nahi h... we all care for you...

Randhir: but no one is with me... But I deserve all this.. what ever I have done with you... this punishment is very small... vese ek baat batao ( wiping his tears) how are my babies?? I mean tell me something about them na.. tum unko leke be nahi ayi... their antics... I so wanted to know...

Sanyukta: they are adorable randhir... so pure.. so sweet.. so cute... and kajal is very naughty... she takes a lot of time to sleep... khanak sleeps in seconds.. but kajal... no way... ooper se maa .. vo be unko bigad rahe h... they always wanted to be surrounded.. thoda sa be koi idhar udhar hota h naa... bas.. they start crying... (he was listening to her suppressing his cry... she kept on blabbering ,,, telling him more and more about them.. he was enjoying it.. he felt himself close to them.. a lone tear escaped from his eyes)

Randhir: sanyukta... (he interrupted in between)

Sanyukta: haa bolo...

Randhir: why didn't you get them here?? ( he spoke in a serious tone)

Sanyukta: (her face color changed.. ) vo me akele kese samhalti... they are very naughty randhir...

Randhir: (he smiled looking down) or you want to keep them away from me?? (he looked up at her)

Her eyes got widened.. she knew this was the reason... but she didn't want to tell him...

Sanyukta: randhir vo... vo esaaa... (she was trying to make some excuse)

Randhir: sanyukta esa hi h.. I know you want to keep them away from me... but I am confused that why are you keeping them away from me... ?? actually I am confused between the two reasons.. either you are doing this becoz you think that I might harm them or ypu are doing this becoz you don't want me to meet them.. like a punishment for me...

She looked down.. she herself didn't know why was she doing so..?? coz she knew he can never harm the babies now.. and also she doesn't want to punish him...

Randhir: if you think that I will harm them.. then sanyukta I can never do that.. they are my babies.. i agree I didn't want them to come into life.. but now they are... they are... what should I say... they are in my life... I cannot harm them come what may... I love them sanyukta.. believe it or not.. but yes.. I am dying every single day here.. craving for my babies.. craving for you...

She couldn't take it anymore and got up sobbing...

Sanyukta: I think randhir we should sleep... (wiping her tears.. its already too late)

She came to her room leaving him alone there...

Next morning...

It was 8:00 am...

Randhir was sleeping in his bed... just then his sleep got disturbed by some noises... he woke up and looked around.. he came off the bed and came out of the room.. he looked around and realised that these noises were coming from the kitchen... he went to kitchen and saw sanyukta cooking something... a smile crept on his face.. he came from behind and sat on the slab... sanyu looked at him and froze...

Randhir: ( smiled) carry on...

Sanyukta: vo.. I was thinking of cooking something in breakfast forrr... (she paused)

Randhir: for me... I know.. (he smiled again)

Sanyukta: haa... vo actually , look at you.. kitne patle ho gaye ho tum.. I thought jab tak yaha hoo atleast khana to tum theek se kha sakte hoo...

Randhir kept on smiling... she was not able to hide her feelings for him...

Randhir: ok... vese kya bana rahe hoo??

Sanyukta: aloo ka parantha and raita...

Randhir: thank you.. (he whispered in her ear )

Sanyukta feel chills down her spine... she gulped...

Sanyukta: you go and get ready... muje office be jana h...

Randhir: ohh ha.. what time has he called you?? I will drop you..

Sanyukta: at 11:00... but I will go of my own.. you don't have to worry...

Randhir: ese kese... I am getting ready ... we will go together...

And he barged out of the room...

After half an hour

She was arranging food on the table and he took his seat... he was very happy... he missed all this badly all these months... his eyes lightened up when he saw the food... she kept one parantha in his plate , put some butter over it ..

Randhir: oh ho sanyu... itna sara makkhan... sanyu muje ek din me mota karna h kya...

Sanyukta: have it.. koi mote nahi hoge tum... its not much...

Randhir was enjoying all this.. this care , this concern.. he had been waiting for all for so long... he was feeling loved ...

She sat next to him and pulled a parantha for herself from the casserole and put the lid.. he tore a piece of parantha and kept it in his mouth..

Randhir: mmm... sanyu its so good...

Sanyukta: ( smiled) you liked it??

Randhir: I loved it...

He was eating like a 5 year old kid.. who eats his favorite dish...

Sanyukta was just looking at him,... she was smiling... her eyes brimmed with tears.. he was engrossed in eating... she knew he had not eaten anything good all this while... there is no one for him...

Randhir : (looked at her) sanyu can I get more plz... ?? (he pleaded like a kid)

Sanyu came back to her senses...

Sanyu: haa lo na...

She gave him one more parantha... and he started eating it again...

After finishing the breakfast they both went to sanyukta's old office ... she went inside.. he was waiting outside for her in his car... after an hour she came out and found him still there..

Sanyu: arreey you are still here.. tum gaye nahi..?

Randhir: I was waiting for you.. work done??

Sanyu: no not really.. he wants me to come tomorrow again ... some papers are missing...

He was happy coz he get a chance to spend some more time with her...

Randhir: its ok... it will be over soon..

Sanyu: randhir ... my babies are there in jaipur without me... maa kese samhalegi unhe... I have to be here for another two days..

Randhir: don't worry... come on sit inside the care now.. I am getting late for the office now..

He opened the door for her and she sat inside the car... he dropped her home and went to office...

It was 7:00 pm...

randhir's office...

he got up from his seat and started packing his stuff... just the parth entered his cabin...

parth: hey randhir... aj itna jaldi ghar ja rha h.. is everything ok??

Randhir: (passed a smile.. he left his place and went to parth) I am so happy today (and he hugged him)

Parth: kya hua randhir... ??

Randhir: sanyukta is here.. with me.. parth.. she is here with me.. at my home...

Parth: ohh great!! She is back forever.. I m so happy for u dude...

Randhir broke the hug and..

Randhir: she is not back forever... but she will... also I am happy that vo aayi yaha.. bas.. I am happy...

Parth: I am happy for you... very happy... She will be back soon randhir.. you both are made for eachother...

Randhir: hmmm... ek good news doon??

Parth: bta naa...??

Randhir: I am proud father of two little princesses... ( he smiled in joy)

Parth: my god !! bro..you didn't tell me this before... that's a great news.. congratulations...

Randhir: thanks bro... now I am going ok...

He bid bye to parth and rushed out of the office...

After a few minutes he reached his home.. and opened the door... the whole hows was smelling so good.. as if something nice was cooking in the kitchen... he felt mesmerising... he entered the kitchen and saw her cooking ...

he smiled.. she was looking just the same what she used to look 11 months back... as if history was repeating itself.. she tied her hair in a loose bun.. her similar kurti , pajama.. he was lost in admiring her... just then cooker whistled.. and he came out of his thoughts.. sanyukta was completely unaware of his presence.. just then he coughed a little.. she turned back and found him standing there...

sanyu: ohh you are back.. kab aye tum??

Randhir: just now...

Sanyu: ohh ... you freshen up ..

Randhir: hmmm... by the way kya ban raha h??

Sanyu: tum change to karke ayo.. (she smiled)

Randhir: you are spoiling my habits sanyu... don't do this..

Sanyu: its not like that..

Randhir: it is.. you will not be here after two days.. I will be back to my old life.. it will be hard for me to change again... (he spoke in a serious tone)

Sanyu: you and change...

She spoke to change the topic...

Randhir: hmmm...

He turned around and entered the room...

Precap: the much awaited plane crash..
