Chapter 3

Armaan and Sapna's conversation was heard by Anjali and was standing there aghast. " Armaan and Sapna's relationship at the verge of break up, Oh my God; and Ridzy will be blamed for this, because no one knows that Armaan and Sapna are trying to break their relationship, everyone will think that everything is happening because of Riddhima and I won't let my sister suffer this blame game. I will have to do something" thought Anjali. She was searching for Riddhima and she found her at nurse station. Riddhima was talking with someone on phone from the nurse station's landline " Ok, so everything is prepared? Good. Please send the tickets on the name of Armaan and don't tell them that the arrangements are done by me. Keep that secret" And then she disconnected the call.

"Yeh tu kya kar rahi thi" asked Anjali

"Nothing Di, I have planned a date for Armaan and Sapna. I was checking everything" replied Riddhima.

"No need of all this, they are mature enough to prepare for their dates and handle their relationship" said Anjali irritated.

" Haan Di, But I was just kindda helping them that's it" Said Riddhima

"Look Ridzy, give some space to them and please stop wandering around Armaan, keep a distance from him. Tujhe jo problem hai Atul se share kar, 24 hours tu Atul se baat kar, use apni problems share kar, after all he is also your best friend. Talk to him, go out with him do anything with him, I won't mind but not with Armaan" said Anjali

"Lekin Di hua kya, Armaan bhi mera best friend hai" said Riddhima

"yeh tu janti hai, log nahi, so decided you will maintain a distance from Armaan that's it' ordered Anjali

"Anjie why are behaving so weird?" Asked Atul. " At least give her the reason to stay away from him, right Ridz.

"Ya correct" responded Riddhima.

" Ok Fine you guys wanna know, okay, Sapna and Armaan's relationship is not going smooth, Sapna is insecured coz of Riddhima, there were some problems between them before Ridz joined Sanjeevani between them and they were planning for a break up, but then all this mess of Ridzy's divorce happened and they decided not to tell anyone, but now Armaan wants to tell everyone and Sapna is insecured of Ridzy. Now tell me if they guys break up who will be held responsible obviously my sister. And I don't want her to face another wrath of life that's it. So I was asking her to stay away from Armaan. Bus" replied Anjali.

"Oh God! That is why Sapna is behaving so weird with me, Di I guess you are right, I don't have the stamina to bear the blame of another broken relationship" said Riddhima.

"Atul tum bhi please Armaan ko kuch mat batana" Asked Anjali.

"Kya nahi batana aur kyun" asked Muskaan who happened to pass by and listen this much only.

"Muski who..." Riddhima was about to tell her when suddenly Anjali intervened " Nothing Muski, actually Ridzy has planned a date for Armaan and Sapna and we don't want ki Armaan ko pata chale" said Anjali.

"Oh wow date, kya Ridzy kabhi mere aur Rahul ke liye bhi kuch plan kar na, wo shushunder to bada hi un romantic hai, gadha kahin ka" said Muskaan

"haan Muski pakka" said Riddhima

"Accha guys I will take your leave mujhe hitler ko reports dikhani hai" said Muskaan and left from there.

" Di apne mujhe Muski ko kuch batane kyun nahi diya" asked Riddhima

"Idiot she is Armaan's best friend, she won't be able to digest the fact and will spill out everything in front of Armaan. Moreover News ko breaking news bana degi who" said Anjali "Okay Atul I got to go, you take care of Riddhima"

Atul and Riddhima were both free so they decided to go to caf. There they saw Armaan, Sapna and Rahul sitting. First Riddhima was reluctant to join them but then Atul insisted her and she joined the trio.

"Oye mere bhai tujhe kya hua, aise kyun baitha hai?" asked ATul to Armaan

"yaar Champ kisi ne mere naam ke do tickets bheji hai, water park restaurant ki aaj sham 8 baje ki, aur mujhe hi nahi pata" said Armaan "Riddhima you were trying to plan a date for me and Sapna, kahin tum to nahin?"

"Armaan I was just thinking, I haven't planned, maybe Sapna herself" said Riddhima

"No Riddhima I haven't" replied Sapna.

"Abe yaar tujhe kya, tu ja na, apni sham enjoy kar" said Rahul.

"Haan bhai Rahul theek keh raha hai, waise bhi tu aur Sapna kaafi time se kahin bahar nahi gaye" said Atul

Suddenly Atul's pager beep and he was about to leave when Riddhima stopped him.

Atul whispered in ears " Don't worry Rahul hai, jab wo a jaye to tub hi a jana, abhi aise uth ke jayegi mere saath to accha nahi lagega" and then he left.

After sometime a ward boy came and called Sapna. Now Riddhima, Rahul and Armaan were left. Riddhima was feeling very uncomfortable.

"Baksket, so how was your surgery with Dr.Shubhakar" asked Armaan.

"Acchi thi Armaan, he was quite impressed from me, aur pata hai.. and suddenly she stopped. She was about to tell him what Dr, Shubhankar has said about her and Armaan and then she thought I can't tell him that and moreover mujhe Armaan ke saath itna friendly nahi behave karna, I need to keep a distance.

"Bata na kya kaha Shubhankar sir ne" Asked Armaan.

"Nothing much Armaan bus avain" said Riddhima.

"Accha aur tu kab se mujhse choti choti batein chupane lagi, humesha to sab kuch batati hai" asked Armaan

"Nahi Armaan nothing" said Riddhima.

Meanwhile Rahul left and only Riddhima and Armaan were left. Armaan was cracking jokes and was doing all that Armaanish stuff but Riddhima looked least interested. She excused herself saying that she has got some work with Dr.Keerti.

For the whole day Riddhima ignored Armaan or talked less, she only use to talk with him when the whole gang used to be with them. She spent much of her time with Anjali and Atul. Armaan soon realized that Riddhima is ignoring him. This fact was not tolerated by Armaan that his best friend is ignoring him. When the gang was busy with their own sily fights and talks Armaan managed to ask Riddhima "Why are you ignoring me Basket"

"Ignore! Main! Tumhein! Nahi Armaan" lied Riddhima

"Accha to fir tum mujhse distance kyun rakh rahi ho" asked Armaan

"Riddhima suddenly saw that Sapna is uncomfortable watching her and Armaan's close proximity, so she signaled Sapna to come, in this way Riddhima managed to skip Armaan's question and left the duo alone and joined the gang.

"Guys aaj koi couple date pe jar aha hai" said Riddhima to divert attention of everyone on Sapna and Armaan.

And just the spark was needed to ignite the fire and the gang started teasing Sapna and Armaan. Armaan was in no mood as he was initially doubtful that Ridzy is ignoring him but now he got sure that yes his basket is ignoring him, but he wasn't able to understand why.

Part-6

Armaan was sitting in the locker room all alone thinking about the weird behavior of Riddhima and was trying to figure out as to why is she ignoring him, when suddenly Sapna came and sat beside him and put her hand on his and said "Armaan are you coming to pick me up." "What? Pick you from where,, what are you talking?" asked all confused Armaan. "Baby someone has arranged a date for us at waterpark for evening, remember?" said Sapna. "ya the date" Armaan sighed. "you know what I feel that this date is organized by Ridzy only, and I don't know why she is denying, or else you tell me who is bothered about us" " Ah! Again Riddhima" said an irritated Sapna. " Baby I seriously want to give one more chance to our relationship, what we had between us was not just friendship it was more than that" " Yes it was more than that, It was infatuation Sapna, but not love, in love you sacrifice yourself for the other self there is no you' or I' there is us' and you surrender yourself for the person you love and neither I nor you felt such thing" said Armaan.

"Armaan at least try for once, for our friendship, for our so called relationship, please" pleaded Sapna.

"okay Sapna would you have asked this I mean to give one more chance to this relationship if Ridz was not back to Sanjeevani" asked Armaan

"yes and a sure yes Ammy because I do feel something for you and I know maybe its not love but it can change into love" said Sapna

Armaan laughed sarcastically and said "okay if you say so, I will pick you at 7"

Ridz duty got over early in the evening, she was about to leave locker room when she bumped into Armaan.

"oh sorry Armaan, I was in a bit hurry" said Riddhima

"its okay Basket, so your duty got over and mine too, come I will drop you home" said Armaan

"No Armaan, I can go rather I am going, you go freshen up and get ready for the date"

" One minute Riddhima, Anjali has got duty so with whom will you go? "

"Armaan I am taking Anjali's car, she will come with Atul so you see there is no problem"

"There is problem Riddhima, and the problem is you are ignoring me, and I have the right to know why, Riddhima it is killing me inside to know that my best friend is ignoring me" said Armaan with wet eyes.

"Armaan I am not" said Riddhima

Armaan have had enough for the day, he was fed up listening to the lies "enough Riddhima" and he hold her from her shoulder tightly and pulled her hard towards himself "Dr.Riddhima Gupta I am not mad or mentally challenged, your ignorance is killing me damn it and I want to know the reason as to why you are behaving so weird" " Armaan leave me you are hurting me" and some tears fall from her eyes out of pain as Armaan was holding her real tight " Oh really, and what about me, I am also feeling some pain Riddhima what about that" and he tightened his grip more such that now it became un bearable for Riddhima, her shoulders were aching badly. " Armaan leave me, I don't care to answer you, beacuase you are no one to question me, NO ONE and she stressed the last syllable. Suddenly Armaan's grip loosen and he uttered same " No one Riddhima, NO ONE, we are best friends and I need my answers and toady you will answer me" and he again tightened his grip. Suddenly there was an announcement

Dr. Riddhima is needed in the operation theatre no.2 its an emergency

Riddhima pushed Armaan hard and she got herself free from his grip and ran from there and thanked God for saving her from the questions of Armaan.

"Jawaab to main le kar rahunga Dr. Riddhima, tum mujhe yun ignore nahi kar sakti" said Armaan.

Armaan ring the door bell to find Sapna dressed in beautiful knee length dress and she was looking beautiful but her beauty wasn't creating any impression on Armaan's mind or heart, just for formality sake he said "you are looking really beautiful Sapna"

Sapna was elated hearing words of appreciation from Armaan.

Armaan opened the car door for her and they headed towards water park.

WATER PARK
"Excuse there will be a booking for two, Dr. Armaan Mallik and Dr. Sapna" asked Armaan to the manager.

" Oh yes sir, you are our special guest for tonight, we were asked to pay special attention" said the manager.

He escorted Armaan and Sapna towards a table that was lavishly decorated. Soon after their sitting waiter brought the chocolate cake in heart shape with rose bouquet and some musicians accompany the waiter with violin. Waiter asked Armaan and Sapna to cut the cake and the musicians played melodious song in the back ground. The atmosphere was very romantic but Armaan was not enjoying on the contemporary Sapna was enjoying. Soon after the cake cutting dinner was served, after the dinner Armaan and Sapna were asked for ball dance. For Sapna it was the best date but for Armaan well...

Armaan dropped Sapna at her home she was on cloud 9

Armaan was all lost in his thoughts sitting on his bed " who can plan such a fab date for me, I am damn sure its basket only, only she can have such fantastic ideas because earlier also she was the one who planned such dates for me." He was lost in his thoughts when suddenly he saw his phone ringing and he smiled seeing the caller

"Moti soyi nahi ab tak" asked Armaan

"Oye Hero soti kaise, after all I was excited to know what all happened at the grand date" asked Muskaan

"Preparations were awesome yaar, who so ever has done is genius" said Armaan.

"Awesome to hogi na, after all that genius is actually a master mind, our own Riddhima" Muskaan blabbered and the suddenly realizing that she was asked by Anjie not to tell she bit her tongue and said " Oh teri mujhe to batana nahi tha, shit!"

"Riddhima! Basket prepared the date, I was so damn right" said Armaan

"Oye hero please don't Anjali that I slipped my tpngue in front of you, please yaar or else she will kill me please please please..." pleaed Muskaan.

"its okay Muski mujhe pata hai, tera, don't worry" said Armaan

"okay chal ab main kuch aur bolu mujhe phone band kar dena chahiye" said Muskaan and she hang the call.

"But why Anjali asked Muskaan not to tell me, and is it possible that she asked Riddhima to stay away from me, but will she? After all after her divorce she was the one who asked me to stay with Ridz like magnet, then why will she? But then why Riddhima is ignoring me. And damn why her ignorance is bothering me that much. Of course it will bother after all she is my bestie. Should I ask Atul, but what if; he knows the reason behind Basket's ignorance and he is not letting me know intentionally. Kya karun kaise pata karun?" and thinking all this he went into deep slumber.

Next Morning he reached Sanjeevani early to talk with Riddhima as he know that Riddhima is an early morning bird, but was left dejected when Sister Lovely informed him that Riddhima had to work late night yesterday so she will report hospital late. Armaan was roaming restless in the locker when Rahul entered.

"Oye tujhe kya ho gaya ab" asked Rahul

"Raoool please abhi nahi" said Armaan

"Oye main to sirf pooch raha tha" said Rahul.

Anjali and Atul entered room engrossed talking with each other.

Armaan suddenly blasted the question " Anjali Riddhima kab tak ayegi?"

"Good Morning Armaan, I guess this is the way we generally greet people, well wo 11 baje tak a jayegi" said Anjali.

Armaan literally dragged Atul at one side and asked "I know you knew but I don't know hy you are not telling"

"Ek minute Armaan kya bol raha hai"

"Atul mujhe pata hai ki tujhe pata hai please mujhe bhi bata"

"Armaan maine tujhe translate karne ke liye nahi kaha, matlab poocha, angreazi mujhe bhi samajh ati hai"

"TCh yaar, Basket mujhe kyun ignore kar rahi hai, mujhe pata hai ki tujhe pata hai par tu mujhe kyun nahi bata raha, yeh bata"

"Ridz tujhe ignore kar rahi hai, really!" Atul pretended that he don't know anything

"Accha beta mujhse natak, koi nayi tu ana ab mujhse tips lene Anjali ke liye" said Armaan

"oye ata tha, ab nahi ab ANjali or main couple hain ab kis cheez ki tips" sasked Atul

"Accha Anjie ko gifts den eke liye"

"Ridz hai, Armaan wo hai, tu tension mat le, main us se pooch lunga" said Atul

Armaan sang dramatically " Dost dost na raha..."

Rahul and Atul together" nautanki saala"

And both along with Anjlai left

"The both know somethingbus mujhe hi nahi bata rahe."

"Hero tu directly Ridz se pooch le" said Muskaan from behind

"Muski meri jane jigar meri sacchi dost, Basket bhaag jayegi, won a bhaagi to yeh hospital ki announcement use bhaga degi" said Armaan in his Armaanish melo dramatic way.

"To mere dost use kahin aisi jagah le ja jahan koi na a sake" said Muskaan.

" hmmm good idead Moti"

At 11 when Riddhima came

"Mission Riddhima se sach uglwao starts now" said Armaan.

Riddhima was going from the corridor when suddenly someone pulled her in the fire escape.

"Armaan yeh kya badtmeesi hai, kal raat bhi tumne..."

Suddenly Armaan saw some imprints on Riddhima's shoulder. They were his fingerprints which were clearly visible as she was wearing mega sleeves.

"I am sorry Riddhima for this and a lone tear fall from Armaan's eye.
