Chapter 3: Her Hidden Secret
The wedding rituals proceeded to take place and she met him outside just as she asked. They went to the mandir and got married and Aman and the lawyer were there as they took pictures for proof. Khushi remembered the officer's words as they finally signed the will. "Congratulations, Mr and Mrs. Raizada", he said hugging Arnav with excitement. She looked at her husband she he drove seriously back to the Raizada mansion.
She looked at the mangalsutra that now hung around her neck and the pinch of Sindhoor on her forehead. She immediately pulled up the mirror panel above her head and stared at her forehead. She should wipe it, but for some reason she did not want to. So took out her hair clip and parted her hair to one side so the sindoor would be hidden. The mangalsutra however would be hard to cover up. She bit her fingers of what to do.
Arnav glanced over and understood her plight. "You can Take that off now", he said turning back to the road.
"Umm ya…I was thinking I could just hide it….", she mumbled. She didn't want to take the mangalsutra off. Then a brilliant idea struck her. She was wearing a long necklace that srtaed off with a simple chain at her neck. She could link parts of the mangalsutra to the chain and hide it inside her blouse. The dupatta covering her ghangra can conceal the rest. She did that as Arnav watched her thinking the word 'unbelievable'
They parked outside and got out of the car. He stopped her by holding her arm as she was about to enter.
"I know I should have said this earlier, but thank you Khushi", his eyes gleamed with gratitude.
She nodded and then did something both of them did not expect. She cupped his cheek and whispered, "You don't need to thank me Arnav. I'm family". The proximity for the first time did weird things to them both. They quickly snapped out of their trance and she drew her hand back.
"We should go in", he said and went inside.
She watched as he disappeared through the door. She touched her neck and her forehead. She was a married women now. But then a lone tear fell out. Arnav believed she married him to only help his family for the sake of love. But little did he know the marriage that she ridiculed with the name of contract and divorce hurt her beyond measure. She believed in marriage, she never believed in playing deals with it at all.
But then she had a reason, a reason she could do this to herself. And that reason was the most bitter truth that would always haunt her life. Her bitter truth had led her into making herself a sacrificial lamb. And more tears fell as she thought of the biggest secret that held to herself. She glanced up at the sky. "Devi Maiyya, why did you have to do this to me?"

She followed Arnav inside an was shocked out of her mind to see what was happening?

"what happened", khushi whispered to an equally shocked Arnav

"The wedding broke off", he looked at her as they stated at the two families who had been family friends motor decades now were now fighting with each other.

Khushi gulped, 'this could not be happening right now'
