Chapter 8

Rey: Guys, Sharon ka birthday aa raha hai! I guess this can be the perfect time to get them together'..

Taani: Rey, Sharon bhabhi ko toh hum leke aaenge par bhai? Bhai, ko kaise convince karnge?

Rey: Swayam ko laane ke liye bhi mere paas ek idea hai, don't worry!

Yes all of them were planning to get both the lovers together again'.. Not that they had broken up or something but this distance due to Swayam's changed behaviour had been noticed by everyone'' Now the scenario was even worse, at first Sharon would atleast try talking to him and used to pass her time with the gang'.. But now unintentionally she too had started remaining quiet and lost in her world'.. They had no idea what went wrong between the two of them'..

On the other hand Sharon was in her cabin, standing by the window... Starring endlessly into the busy streets outside'.. From the past few days she only thought about what she saw that night'' Swayam's dance'.. his emotions'' his pain'.. his tears'... his love'.. She was so lost that she had not realised Simi entering her cabin'.

Simi (giving her a light shake): Sharon!

Sharon (coming out of her trance): uuhh' haan'. Haan Simi'.. When did you come?

Simi (concern): Shar'.. Are you fine?

Sharon just nodded positively'.

Simi: By the way what are your plans for Thursday?

Sharon (confused): Thursday? What's on Thursday?

Simi (surprised): What! Are you serious?! Tumhe apna birthday bhi yaad nahi hai?!

Sharon: Oh yes! Haan! Just slipped out of my mind!

Simi: Shar'.. What's wrong with you? Tum toh kabhi apna birthday nahi bhoolti!

Sharon: Nahi Simi, it's nothing like that! I was too lost to remember'.. Aur waise bhi harr saal Swayam hota hai na'.. mujhse bhi jyada excited'.. with everything planned'.. (lower tone) But actually this year I don't feel like doing anything'.. So I told Swayam also not to plan anything'. (she put on a convincing smile trying to hide her lie)

Simi: Who are you kidding Sharon? Hum sab ko pata hai, ke Swayam bahut change ho gaya hai! Why don't you talk it out with him and solve the problem'.

Sharon: No Simi, Swayam change nahi hua hai, it's just that office ke pressure ke wajahse woh bahut busy rehta hai'.. And jo bhi problem hai, I'm sure Swayam in sometime will talk to me about it'.. So please don't worry about me'.. I'm totally fine'.

Simi just smiled at her and left from there'. Sharon always defended Swayam whenever anyone told her to talk to him'.. Rey, Taani and Vicky were known to the entire problem and always tried to reveal it to Sharon but she never heard them out'.. The gang was only aware that something happened between Rishi and Swayam, because of which he was disturbed'.. Rey was now trying to get them together as he couldn't see both his friends likes this'.. He called up Swayam'..

Phone convo:

Rey: Hey dude!

Swayam: Hey Rey!

Rey: Maine tujhe yeh puchne ke liye phone kiya tha ke tune Thursday ke liye kya socha hai? Waise tujhe yaad toh hai na Thursday ko kya hai?

Swayam: Obviously, yaad hai! It's Sharon's birthday! Main kaise bhool sakta hoon?!

Rey: So what's the plan?

Swayam: I was planning to book her favourite lounge and in fact I had a word with the GM there and have got some of the arrangements done!

Rey: Wow, dude that was fast'.. Toh tu pura din Sharon ke saath rahega aur raat ko hum sab party! Not bad!

Swayam: Nahi yaar! Actually mujhe Thursday early morning Pune ke liye nikalna hai! Ek bahut important meeting hai! Main tum logo ko directly party main join karunga! But dude please tu baaki ke arrangements sambhal lega kya? Major kaam ho gaya hai aur menu bhi decide ho gaya hai but baaki ka please tu dekhega!

Rey: Yeah ok! No problem! Waise birthday cake ka kya?

Swayam: Haan you don't worry about that, woh directly venue pe pahuch jayega'. Maine order kar diya hai'.

Rey: Ok!

Swayam: Theek hai, toh main baad main baat karta hoon, kuch kaam aa gaya hai!

Rey: Ok continue with your work, chal bye!

Swayam: Bye

Rey kept the phone and was a bit disappointed'.. He had thought that he will convince Swayam to spend the day with Sharon but here the story was completely different'.. But then he thought of executing his plan in the party'.. He informed the gang about the party and told them not to inform Sharon about it till the day of her birthday'.

It was Wednesday night'. The clock struck 11:55 pm'.. from the last 4 years this day had always been a celebrations for Sharon'.. Swayam was always there sitting in her room at 12am singing happy birthday to her and she cutting her cake'.. Then the entire day he would come up with all sorts of surprises'.. Take her to places'.. spend the entire day with her and at night they would celebrate with their friends in a lounge, pub or at someone's house'.. In short he would make her feel special in every possible way'.. But today the story was completely different'.. She was unsure if he even remembered that it was her birthday'.. She was sitting alone in her room lost in her thoughts'.

Here Swayam was sitting by his window, starring up at the pitch black sky'' There played a reel of memories that they cherished'.. He remembered how every year he would do all kind of tac tics to get a smile on her face'.. He so wanted to be there with her but then he also had to leave early in the morning so dropped the idea'.. the clock struck 11:59 and Swayam dialled her number'..

The needle just shifted from 11:59 to 12 and her phone started ringing'.. When she saw the caller id a small tear escaped down her cheek'.. It had been long since the time she'd seen his name flashing on her mobile screen'.

Sharon (controlling her tears): Hey!

Swayam: Hey birthday girl, Wish you a very very Happy birthday!

Sharon (happily smiling): Thank you!

Swayam: So'.. By the way, I'm sure no one must have told you, but especially for your birthday party I have booked your favourite lounge'.. we all shall celebrate there!

Sharon (with a wide smile): Thank you so much Swayam!

Swayam: Tum itna formal kyu ho rahi ho? Woh bhi mere saath?!! Anyways I'll see you there at 9pm ok?!

Sharon: Ok! Par kal tum'?

Swayam: I'll join you'll there directly! Woh mujhe subh jaldi nikalna hai Pune ke liye, ek bahut important meeting hai'. Toh jaise hi mera kaam khatam hota hai, main aa jaunga!

Sharon (disappointed): Ok'.. Toh tumhe ab so jaana chahiye'.. Kal jaldi nikalna hai toh'. So bye good night!

Swayam: Yeah!... So good night and I lov'.

But before he could complete his sentence Sharon hung up'.. She couldn't take it anymore'.. She had controlled her emotions from a very long-time now'.. As soon as she kept the phone, she started getting other calls'.. her parents had come to her room to wish her'. She somehow held back her tears and was trying her best to smile and act normal'..

In the morning her friends were there for breakfast and they had planned to take her out and keep her busy all day'. Sharon was trying her best to enjoy but in vain'.. She was just waiting for evening'. After a long time they were going to get time together'.. When she was home to change, she got ready within no time and was ready to leave'..There cam the diva in a sexy black cocktail dress that ended a few inches above her knee'.. it was a skin fit and was outline her curves perfectly'.. white coloured stiletto's and accessorised with just a white clutch, a silver bracelet that he had gifted and her engagement ring'.. hair perfectly swaying and dancing with the wind'. Not much make up as he preferred her natural beauty'.

The lounge was one of its kinds'.. It actually resembled a ship; having a deck facing the sea and the perfect interior to add to its beauty'..It was around 10pm and everyone was now there, dancing, drinking and having fun'. She danced with the girls but her eyes were fixed at the entrance waiting for his arrival'. Soon the cake was laid on the table and yes it was her favourite Devils sin rich chocolate cake in a customised shaped'.. But how could she cut it when he wasn't present'.. She told Rey she would want to wait for Swayam'.. Everyone agreed and thought of having fun till then'. She still waited from him'.. Every passing minute bought more and more disappointment on her face'.. Rey called him up but he message saying he'll be late'.. It was 12 and the party had ended'.. She stood on the deck for the past one hour'.. Tears flowing down her cheeks'.. She tried controlling them but in vain'. As she heard the sound of footsteps she immediately wiped of the tears and straightened herself'.

Taani: Sharon bhabhi, woh sab jaa rahe hai!

Sharon: Yeah let's go! Waise bhi bahut late ho gaya hai!

She was trying her best to hide her disappointment with a smile, in front of her friends but they were very much aware of her emotions'. As they stepped out of the lounge a black Skoda came and stopped in front of them'. Yes it was him'. He rushed out from his seat and went up to Sharon'.

Swayam (holding her hand): I'm really very very sorry! Maine jald se jald aane ki koshish kar raha tha par ho hi nahi paaya!... (to his friend) I'm really sorry guys!

Sharon (trying hard to smile): Hey don't be sorry! Work is work! I understand! Aur waise bhi tumne itni amazing party arrange ki thi mere liye so you were present there in a way!

He was relieved that she wasn't angry with him'. He just hugged her tight'. As soon as he pulled her close, she broke into silent tears that she had controlled since long'.. She tightened her grip on his back and buried herself in his arms'. But this was short lived'. As soon as she felt his grip loosen, she immediately wiped her tears as she didn't want him to see her crying'.. But little did she know that her best friend had noticed her hiding her emotions'.. The gang smiled when they saw them hugging and breath out a sigh of relief'.. They were happy to see them together once again'..

Sharon: Swayam hume nikalna chahiye! You must be tired and kal office bhi hoga na! Bahut late bhi hogaya hai!

Swayam: Oh yes! Come let's go!

Everyone left from there'.. On the way back home as usual Swayam- Sharon didn't utter a single word'.. Swayam felt guilty for not being there with Sharon today'.. And she was fighting back her tears'.. Soon they'd reached and simply bid each other a good bye and left'.. As soon as Sharon left, Swayam's phone buzzed'. He checked, it was a text from Rey,

'Meet me at our usual place'.. Need to talk to you'.. It's important'

Swayam left to meet Rey who was already there'.. Rey had thought of ending this right here'.. It was high time they spoke'.. So as soon as Swayam was there Rey just came to the point'..

Rey: Yeh tu kya kar raha hai Swayam?

Swayam (confused): Tu kya bol raha hai?

Rey (increasing his pitch): Seriously?! Ab mujhe tujhe yeh bhi samjhana padega?... Tu aur Sharon suddenly strangers ki tarah kyun behave kar rahe ho?

Swayam (lower his gaze): Aisa kuch nahi hai! Woh main'.. (was cut by Rey)

Rey: Kab tak ek hi baat ko leke baithega yaar! Tere dad ne aaj tak tujhe kitni baar kitna kuch kaha hai! Tune hi bola tha na ke ab tu tere dad ki baaton ko dil pe nahi leta phir ab kyun?

Swayam (shocked): Tujhe yeh sab kaise pata?

Rey: Mujhe kaise pata chala ya mujhe kya pata hai, is not the question! Mujhe yeh samjhe nahi aa raha ke tu suddenly aisa kyun behave kar raha hai!

Swayam (turning his back): Rey, iss baar hadd paar ho gayi hai! Dad ne Sharon aur mere relation ko question kiya hai aur (but he was cut by Rey)

Rey (irritated): Aur kya? Theek hai I understand Uncle ne jo bola uss se tujhe bahut bura laga, par iss sab main Sharon ki kya galti hai? Tu khudko aur usse kyun punish kar raha hai? Woh bichari toh yeh bhi nahi jaanti ke tu uss se aise behave kyun kar raha hai'

Swayam (surprised): Kya? Mujhe laga Vicky ya maa ne Sharon ko bata diya hoga!

Rey: Hum sab ne usse batane ki koshish ki but woh kehti hai ke usse tujhe pe pura bharosa hai ke tu khud jaake uss se yeh baat share karega aur iss liye woh sab tere muh se sunn na chahti hai! Aur tune khud ko Sharon se itna door kar diya hai ke tu uski baatein ya uske emotions samjh hi nahi paa raha'. Swayam ek baat bolu'. Shayad tujhe yeh sunke bura lage par; Aaj tune aapne dad ki baaton ko right prove kar diya hai!

Saying so Rey leaves from there'. Swayam was shocked when Rey said that'.. But some where he knew he was right'.. He was so lost in himself that he didn't realise that he was hurting her in the process'. He recollected all his encounters with Sharon from the day she was back'.. He just saw how he had hurt her'.. ignored her'.. Tears of realisation, pain and moreover guilt trickled down his face'.. He sat there with a blank face'.. Hoping to clear the mess he has created and most importantly get Her Back!

I know you'll Swaron moments, but just bare with me for this update, I promise in the coming updates there will be Swaron moments... 😊
