Chapter 1

PROLOGUE

YEAR 1995

He was 6 and she was 5. Arnav and Khushi were best friends. They were inseparable since they were born. Khushi was smudged with water colors all over her. she was printing he small palm on her scrap book. Her nose was running and she wiping it with her dress occasionally.

"what are you doing Khush?" Arnav peeped in her scrap book with a basket ball in his hands. "printing my hand you idiot" Khushi said excitedly.

"why?" he asked

Khushi smiled," don't ask questions. Even u print your hand with mine"

"eww! My hand would get dirty" Arnav snorted

"but you can always wash them" Khushi blinked her eyes few times wiping her nose

Arnav sat next to her. he placed his ball next to him and took the water color in his hand. He printed his right hand with Khushi's left in her scrap book.

"happy?" Arnav asked giving his toothy smile

"yes! You are the best!" Khushi jumped on his hugging him tightly. Arnav pulled apart and asked," but why are you doing this?"

"so that when we marry, we can always show our babies that were also small like them idiot" Khushi clapped her hands.

"excuse me? who said I will marry you? I am not marrying you", Arnav grunted

"yes you are"

"no I am not"

"yes you are"

"no"

"yes"

"no"

"yes"

"no Khush!" tears dwelled in her eyes and soon she burst into crying. "I will tell my mommy that you don't want to marry me"

"MUMMA" Khushi ran away

YEAR 2001

He was 12 and she was 11. Arnav was sitting in his room doing his homework. Khushi came running to him," what are you doing?"

"homework" Arnav said without looking at her

"why are you doing homework?" Khushi asked

"excuse me?" he looked from his notebook towards her

"when I never do my homework, how can you do yours? Don't you know? Jiyenge saath, marenge saath rule" Khushi said

Arnav snorted," that rule doesn't apply here. if you want detention, it doesn't mean that even I wish for it." Khushi got angry. She pulled his notebook and started running away. Arnav was flabbergasted," Khush! Khush stop before I get you"

"catch me if you can" Khushi struck her tongue out and ran towards living area" Arnav ran behind her. they were running around the couch," Khush don't challenge me. stop right there"

"na uh! You cant catch me. admit it Raizada, you cant catch me. one day I will go so far away that you would never be able to find me", Khushi yelled. Arnav froze.

"Khush stop or I wont talk to you ever"

Khushi halted in her tracks. She looked at his face. he looked serious and angry. He strode towards her and took her in tight embrace," never ever say that! I will always find you wherever you go"

YEAR 2007

He was 18 and she was 17. Party was on full swing. It was a farewell party. Arnav was having his fruit punch when he heard a voice yelling. He immediately recognized that voice,"Khush! Not again" he ran towards the commotion. everyone one were gathered around to watch the drama unfold.

Khushi was kicking a boy and pulling his hair," how dare you? how dare you say that rohit!" the boy yelped in pain. Arnav rushed towards her and pulled her back.

"leave me! just leave me, Arnav" Khushi was kicking the rohit again. Arnav picked her from her waist. Khushi was kicking in air," why are you hitting the poor guy? What did he do?"

"he insulted you", Khushi yelled. Arnav rolled his eyes," so? Leave him Khush! You will kill him" Khushi was still kicking in air," yes, I will kill him. I will kill him. how dare he? How dare call you a GAY! A GAY, Arnav!"

Arnav chuckled. "Khush stop or I will never talk to you again". Khushi stopped immediately. Arnav placed her carefully on her feet. She turned towards him and pulled his collars," why did you stop me? I wanted to kill him. how can he call you gay?"

Rohit rose on his feet," ofcourse he is. That's why he doesn't have a girlfriend. Apart from his friends, if there is anyone, its you."

Khushi glared at him," that's because I am his girlfriend". Arnav looked shocked. rohit snorted," you wish! Stop lying"

"I am not"

"yes you are" rohit said slyly.

"I am not lying" Khushi yelled

"Khushi, lets go" Arnav tried to pull her but she wasnt in mood. Rohit smiled," really? then prove it"

"how?" Khushi asked

"kiss him" rohit said.

Khushi smiled and without wasting a minute she pulled Arnav towards her and took his lips. Arnav was flabbergasted. Everyone gasped. Khushi was lost in the kiss while nibbling her soft ones with his. Yes, it was her first kiss and that too with Arnav.

Arnav too gave in. the kiss that started with a proof turned into a passionate one. Neither of them wanted to leave each other. Khushi without breaking the kiss stood on his feet. Arnav pulled her more towards him. They kissed like there was no tomorrow. They kissed like their life depended on it. After a long time, they broke apart, breathing heavily, looking at each other. They smiled and hugged each other.

YEAR 2010

Arnav and Khushi sat near the cliff holding hands enjoying the cool breeze, gazing at the stars.

"marry me" Arnav said suddenly

Khushi instantly looked at him in disbelief," what did you just say?"

"Marry me"

"I didn't hear it properly" khushi said while cleaning her ears

"KHUSH"

"DON'T SHOUT. You call that a proposal?"

"obviously it's a proposal"

"what happened to the old school ones? Going on knees and all?"

"that's because I am Arnav Singh Raizada. I don't do knees"

"then I am not marrying you"

YEAR 2011

"I cant believe I am actually doing this" Arnav said while sitting on his knees with a ring in his hand

"it is still not my dream proposal" khushi said

"what the"

"Don't what the me."

"what do you want me to do?" Arnav asked

"propose"

"I am doing that" Arnav said confused

"how? Just by sitting on your knees? I am still waiting"

"I give up."

"you still haven't asked me"

"khush, will you marry me?"

"what happened to long speeches?"

"KHUSH"

"WHAT?"

"marry me"

"yes"

YEAR 2013

Arnav was driving his car and Khushi was resting her head on his shoulder. "Arnav, when are going to tell our parents?"

"what is the hurry?" he asked

"because I cant stay away from you anymore"

"you are never away from me khush."

"how cute"

"cute na? You practically spend your whole day 24x7 with me minus nights. That's the only time you leave me alone. Thank god for that or else I would have been in some asylum till now with the amount of crap you talk"

"ARNAV"

"KHUSH"

"I HATE YOU"

"BUT I LOVE YOU"

"I seriously hate you'"

"and I seriously love you"

"you wont even let me stay angry" khushi folded her hands across her chest and pouted. Arnav shook his head, "khush, I love you"

"I know and I love you too"

"are you happy?"

"ofcourse I am. why do you ask?"

"no reason"

"You remember when I was making my scrap book and you asked me why I was doing so?", Khushi suddenly asked and smiled. Arnav chuckled," yes I remember that cute Khush who said she wanted to show to our babies"

Khushi glared," and you told that you would not marry me. " Arnav grinned," and you ran crying to aunty"

"it was your fault. you always made me cry" Khushi said

"no Khush! I never did"

"yes you did"

"no"

"yes"

"no"

"yes"

"no"

"yes"

"Arnav, watch out!!!" Khushi yelled

Suddenly, there was a loud screech of vehicles and sound of horns and then everything went silent. Life is unexpected. Today you have everything, and tomorrow nothing. Life keeps changing and time moves on. But memories, never fade away. They lost each other that day, yet they found each other.

YEAR 2014

It took him a year to recover. He remembers everything, her smile, her laugh, her nature, her anger BUT she doesn't remember anything. She forgot every memory, memories they shared together. She forgot every promise they made to each other. She forgot him.

But today he will meet her after an year. he has made a promise. he will always be with her. he will always be his friend. He will always guide her. he will make her smile. He will make her remember everything.

Khushi came to Raizada house with her parents for the first time after that fateful night. as she walked in, she felt an instant connection to this place. she met everyone yet she felt someone was missing. She didn't remember them but she realized that she was very close to them.

She walked towards stairs. She felt something in her heart. She wasn't looking where she was walking, when her leg twisted. She tripped and was about to fall. She closed her eyes in fear but realized that, that fall never came. She felt to warm arms around her waist. She opened her eyes and saw two hypnotic eyes gazing down at her. she stood on her feet and looked at him. she felt an unknown feeling in her heart. she didn't knew what.

"thank you", she whispered. He nodded.

She looked at him innocently and smiled," hi! I am Khushi! Khushi Gupta"

He smiled," I know who you are. Arnav...Arnav Singh Raizada"
