Chapter 2

"Welcome welcome!", greeted the lady as the guests walked into the house.
"As-salam alaykum Rafia! Kaisi ho?", asked Ghazala as she hugged Rafia.
"Waleykum Salam! Allah ka shukar. Tum batao?", asked Rafia as they sat on the sofa.
"Main bilkul theek.", replied Ghazala.
"Tum kaisi ho Sara? Aur Zaroon tum?", asked Rafia.
"I'm good Aunty!", replied Zaroon with a smile.
"Main theek hoon Aunty. Sidra kahan hai?", asked Sara.
"Main yahan hoon!", came a voice from the staircase.
Sara got up and ran to hug her best friend while Ghazala and Razia continued to talk.
"Kya baat hai.. shaadi waadi kar rahi ho.", teased Sidra.
"Haan haan.. Ab Zaroon ne to karni nahi hai.. uske liye why should I let go off my chance.", winked Sara.
"Osama kaisa hai? Kaafi mahine ho gaye, baat nahi hui janaab se!", asked Sidra.
"Theek hai. Busy bee. Shaadi ke taiyaariyo ke saath saath kaam mein bhi masroof hai.", replied Sara.
"Awww.. Poor thing!", said Sidra.
Sidra looked over at Zaroon who sat quietly with Ghazala and Rafia bored listening to their talks.
"Aap kaise hain Zaroon bhai?", asked Sidra lovingly.
Zaroon quickly walked over to the girls after excusing himself.
"I'm good Sidra.. Tum batao?", he asked taking her into a side hug.
"All good!", she replied casually.
"Waise Kashaf aapa kahan hain?", asked Sara.
Zaroon's eyes widened at the name.
"Kashaf aati hogi. Wo actually boutique pe hi rehti hai zyaadatar.", informed Sidra.
Zaroon, Sara and Sidra walked over to the hall and sat with the mothers when the main door clicked open and Kashaf walked in wearing a black trousers and white chiffon kurti along with a black stole. Zaroon smiled to himself.
"As-salam alaykum Ammi!", she called out without glancing at the hall and directly made her way to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water.
"Ammi?", she called out again.
"Hall mein hoon Kashaf.", came Rafia's voice.
She walked to the hall to find Ghazala, Sara and Zaroon. She gave a surprised look and walked to Ghazala and hugged her.
"Kaisi hain aap Aunty? Long time!", said Kashaf.
"Main theek hoon Kashaf! Tum kaisi ho beta?", asked Ghazala.
"I'm good Aunty!", she replied.
She turned to look at Sara and Zaroon.
"Hey Sara! Congratulations.", wished Kashaf.
"Thank you Aapa!", replied Sara hugging Kashaf.
"Main aap logo ke liye kuch drinks lekar aati hoon.", said Kashaf excusing herself.
"Main help karoon?", asked Sidra.
"Nahi nahi.. Tum Sara ke saath baitthkar baatein karo.", replied Kashaf walking towards the kitchen.
Zaroon looked over at Sara and Sidra who were busy gossiping and then at his mother and Rafia Aunty who were discussing some matters. He got up and made his way to the kitchen and saw Kashaf pouring some juice into glasses. He walked silently till he stood behind her.
"Hi!", he whispered in her ear startling her.
"Hey!", she replied as she continued to pour the juice in the glasses trying not to react to his closeness.
"Dus saal ho gaye aur tum mujhse ek baar bhi nahi mili Kashaf!", he said as though complaining.
"Tum bhi to nahi miley! Aur waise bhi hum dost nahi hain to milne ka koi reason bhi nahi tha.", she replied as she finished pouring juice into the last glass.
"Dost nahi the par dushman bhi to nahi the.", he replied.
"Achha?", she asked as she turned to face him.
"Hmm..", he passed a flirty smile.
"Mujhse flirt karne ki koshish kar rahe ho?", she asked.
"Kyun? Nahi kar sakta tumhare saath flirt?", he asked.
"Flirt karna zaroori hai?", she asked scrunching her brows.
He smirked and quickly smacked his lips on her soft cheeks for a quick peck and moved back. Kashaf stood in shock due to the happening.
"I missed you Kashaf!", he whispered and walked out of the kitchen.
Kashaf gulped in nervousness and shock and picked up the tray of glasses that contained juice and walked to the hall. She served the juice to the ladies and then to the girls and moved to Zaroon.
He looked up at her but she looked everywhere other than his eyes. Her stomach churned as though butterflies fluttered in them. He let out a chuckle seeing her nervousness which made her look at him. He passed an innocent smile and winked. She was left wide eyed yet again. He picked up the glass off the tray and took a sip.
She clutched the tray tightly and paced to the kitchen as fast as possible.
"Calm down Kashaf! Just calm down!", she spoke to herself.
"Kashaf aapa! Aap yahan kitchen mein akeli kyun khadi hain? Baahir hall mein aayiye na!", said Sara.
"Aa rahi hoon. Main apna glass yahin bhool aayi isliye usse lene aayi thi.", said Kashaf.
"Okay!", said Sara smilingly and walked out.
Kashaf came to the hall and sat on the empty sofa which was unfortunately or fortunately next to Zaroon.
"So Kashaf, tumhara boutique kahan hai?", he asked.
"Just down the road.", she replied not looking into his eye sipping on her juice.
""Loosen up. Hum yahan arranged marriage ke liye nahi baitthe hain!", he said out loud making everyone look at him in surprise.
"Zaroon!", sighed Sara in shock.
"Arey, I was just telling Kashaf to relax. Wo thodi dari hui si lag rahi thi mujhe.", replied Zaroon casually.
"Main bilkul theek hoon. Excuse me!", replied Kashaf as she gulped the remaining juice and walked back to the kitchen.
Zaroon excused himself and followed her.
"Rafia! Tumhe lagta hai ye dono?", asked Ghazala sceptically.
"They make a good couple par kya tumhe lagta hai?", Rafia questioned back.
"Ammi.. Just wait for a few days. I've always known that Zaroon bhai was interested in Kashaf par unhone kabhi usse izhaar nahi kiya!", revealed Sidra.
"WHAT? AND I DIDN'T KNOW?", Sara asked shocked at the new piece of information.
"Relax and don't overreact.", said Sidra making her sit back on the sofa.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Kashaf rinsed her glass and put it away and turned to go to her room only to find Zaroon leaning at the door-frame of the kitchen.
"Tum yahan kya kar rahe ho?", she asked.
"Tumse kuch poochhne aaya hoon!", he replied.
"Ab kya reh gaya hai poochhne ke liye?", she sighed.
"Tum lunch mein Chinese khana pasand karogi ya pizza?", he asked.
"Jee?", she asked confused.
"Jee nahi! Chinese or Pizza? Tumhe kya pasand hai?", he asked.
"Tumhe isse matlab?", she asked.
"Since I'm bringing lunch to your boutique tomorrow, I wanted to know what you prefer!", he replied.
"Who said I'm gonna eat lunch with you tomorrow?", she raised her brow at him.
"I know you will.", he whispered and walked towards her as she took steps backwards.
He continued to walk towards her and she walked backwards and finally hit the wall of the kitchen. He lowered his head as his lips touched her earlobe.
"Bolo na Kashaf! Pizza or Chinese?", he whispered making her go stiff.
"Pizza!", she gulped in nervousness.
"Okay! See you at 1.30.", he whispered in her ear and dropped a soft kiss on her earlobe and walked out.
She ran up to her room and shut the door. She clutched her heart which was throbbing hard.
"Ye kya ho raha hai mujhe?", she sighed.
