Chapter 8

After chit-chatting for some more time, sid received a call from his secretary saying that they got to attend a client meeting. 

Both sid and akash returned from terrace. Roli was in her room when they came back. So, sid went to her room to bid bye. 

When sid entered the room, he found it empty. He heard water sounds from the washroom so he assumed that she should be in there. 

Sid looked around the neatly arranged room. His attention suddenly caught on to a small teddy placed in-between the pillows in bed. 

He walked up to the bed and took the teddy in to his hands. He watched it keenly as it reminded him of something.....

"Finally, sunday is here" akash said as he inhaled the fresh air while walking at a roadside. 

"Where you both are going leaving me?" Akash and sid heard roli's voice from behind and turned around to find her running towards them. 

"Why you didn't wait for me to come?" Roli breathed heavily as she reached them. 

"Akash didn't want you to come" sid said calmly, giving a heart attack to akash. 

"Bhaiya.." roli glared at akash and soon she started hitting him. 

"Arey.. roli, I didn't say anything. Sid, are you planning to kill me or what?" Akash said helplessly as he tried to defend himself from his hitler sister. 

Sid smiled at akash's pity state but quickly reacted to help his friend out. He held roli's hands from back and pulled her away from akash. 

"How can you go to play without me?" Roli yelled as sid continued to hold her. 

"Oh meri maa! Have you forgotten how you got hurt by ball when we went to playground last time. So, just that's why we didn't want to bring you with us" akash explained. 

"I wasn't alert at that time. But, now I'll be careful" roli calmed down and said in an adult manner. 

"No" akash declared as his final decision. 

Roli tilted her head up to look at sid, who was still holding her hands from behind, which almost looked like he was back hugging her. 

"You want to come with us?" Sid looked down at her and asked. 

Roli nodded her head, excitedly. 

"Fine, then" sid smiled at her as permitting her to come. 

"Sid" akash called out being helpless. 

"Don't worry. We aren't going to playground anymore now. She won't get hurt" sid looked at akash as he said calmly. 

"You're spoiling this girl" akash said as he pulled roli's cheeks. 

Roli stuck out her tongue at akash for his comment. 

As sid said they didn't went to playground that day, rather just roamed around the streets while talking and having fun. 

When they were passing through a fancy store, roli's eyes were caught by a teddy in the display. 

"Teddy" roli stopped on her track and admired the teddy. 

Sid and akash too had to stop as roli was walking holding both of their hands. 

"We'll come in evening to buy it" akash said. They were supposed to go to playground so, he didn't bring money with him. 

"What if someone else buys it by then. I want it now" roli kept looking at the little teddy with a pout as if she didn't want to lose it. 

"Then we'll buy it now itself" sid said, making roli to smile brightly. 

Three of them entered the shop. Roli picked the teddy from the display shelf and sid paid the bill. 

Suddenly, akash remembered something and said "sid, don't tell me the money you just paid now are your prize money for karate championship". 

"What matters if it is my prize money" sid was calm as usual. 

"It's your achievement, buddy" akash said as he was more concerned about Sid's achievements than sid himself. 

"Roli wanted the teddy" Sid's reply was simple but contained a lot more meaning in it. 

Sid watched roli with admiration as she hugged the teddy close to her heart with a smile in her face.

Sid smiled thinking roli still had this teddy with her. 

"What are you doing here?" Sid was brought back from his thoughts at roli's shout. 

Sid turned to her and found her fuming. Roli noticed the teddy in his hands. She moved near him and snatched it from his hold. 

"Stay away from my things" roli glared at him and hugged the teddy just the way she did back then when he bought it for her. 

Sid smiled even more as he took two steps towards her, filling the gap between them. 

"You joined entertainment industry for me" sid spoke in a husky voice. 

"No" roli denied, looking away from him. 

"You still couldn't lie looking at me" sid smiled as he reminded how roli never used to look at him when she hides something from him. 

"But, you can lie and you did. You said you would never leave me but you left. And now...." 

Roli suddenly felt her soft lips were approached by something. It took a few seconds for her to realize what it was. 

Sid's lips were pressed down on her lips as his palms cupped her face. Roli held the teddy in her hands tightly and shut her eyelids. 

Roli placed her right hand on his chest trying to push him away but, it only made him to pull her more closer. Sid only kissed on her lips and didn't deepen it. 

After a few minutes, sid finally let go of her lips but his hands were still cupping her face. 

"I didn't leave you because I don't want to be with you. I left because I wanted to give a better future to us" sid caressed her cheeks as he spoke. 

Roli stood in shock as she was yet to come out of his sudden kiss. 

"Your scooty is parked out. I've to leave now for a business meeting. I'll be back to you soon" sid whispered and pecked her forehead before leaving the room. 

Even after sid left the room, roli didn't move from her place for a few minutes. When she finally came out of the shock, she was so angry that she wanted to shout but she could only hid her face in the pillow. 

It wasn't until the dinner time at night did roli come out of her room. Even then she didn't speak anything. Akash and shreya thought she was silent due to the sudden arrival of sid. 

Watching roli eating without saying anything, akash finally spoke up "roli.. you were saying about some trip this morning". 

Roli raised her head and nodded "it's a couple trip to Singapore". 

"Oh.. do you have details about it?" Akash asked slowly. 

"You want to go?" Roli's mood suddenly lit up when akash started to ask about the details. 

"Yeah. When you really want us to go, I think it should be nice" akash said as he took a sip of water from the glass. 

"Thank God! bhaiya, you finally got some brain to take my bhabhi out for a trip" roli said, delighted. 

"Okay my hitler, you just give me the details, I'll take care of the rest" akash got up from the chair after he was done with his food. 

Roli quickly finished her food, rushed in to her room and returned with a paper which had the details about trip. 

"I'll look in to it. You go to bed" akash took the paper from roli and said. 

"Okay, good night" roli wished and left to her room. 

After roli left, shreya turned to akash and asked with surprise "are you really want to go on a trip?". 

Akash only nodded at her as he continued to read the paper. 

"But, how can we leave roli alone here and go on our own" shreya said with concern. 

"Who said roli is going to be alone here" akash took his eyes off the paper and stared at his wife. 

Shreya looked confused at his remark. Akash took out his phone and dialed a number. 

"Hello, sid" akash said as soon as sid answered the call and winked at his wife. 

Shreya smiled as she finally understood his plan. 

"You trust your friend a lot" shreya said as akash hung up the call after talking to sid. 

"Of course. I can lose trust on myself but, not him" akash said with a pride smile.
