An appeal for justice
Sanyogita stepped into the building. She was told to wait for a few minutes. She glanced at her mobile screen which revealed 2:53. She was 7 minutes earlier than offered meeting time. She took a deep breath and peered here and there by sitting in the waiting room.
At 3:02 she was called into Advocate Jaiswal's cabin. She opened the door.
‘Oh come, Mrs. Malhotra!’ Indrani welcome with a decent accent
Sanyogita entered. She noticed Indrani wiping her hands in a small towel and then taking her to sit on a black swivel chair.
Sanyogita noticed the office was not too big or small either. It was occupied with shelves lining the walls, replete with folders, and lots of books of laws whose names she hardly knew. It seemed more like a mini library than an advocate office.
within a fraction of a glance, Indrani caught Sanyogita roaming her eyes across the room.
She haunched on the spongy cushion brought forward a little and kept her clasping finger on the table.
‘Pls Take a seat,’ Indrani offered with a nice- to-meet-you-smile.
‘Thank you.’ Sanyogita sat down And reciprocated a formal look.
‘How are you doing, Mrs. Malhotra?’
‘I’m fine Miss Jaiswal" ’ she replied and asked her back the same "Thanks a lot for giving your precious time from your busy days "
" It's alright Mrs. Malhotra, it's our duty. After all, we are public servants. I'm habitual to this "
Sanyogita exhales a sigh and without so much wondering she directly comes to the point.
She had very little time on her hands. She needed to sort out many more things within this short period.
Indrani studied Sanyogita and asked "What happened?? You said to me there is something very important that you wanted to discuss with me today. "
Sanyogita made her relax and proceeded" You are right Miss Jaiswal. Indeed it's important.. let me elaborate..she told everything from beginning to end
I want you to take the case of her l. Her mother is refusing to lodge an FIR now but I think she knows the culprits. My inkling is that perhaps those boys belonged to a powerful family that she is frightened of. But I want her to get justice"
Indrani kept quiet for some time. She didn't blink. She kept staring at Sanyogita with a frown and stringent gaze.
" Miss Jaiswal?" "
" Huh.. " Indrani came out from her deep thoughts. She leaned back on her chair, resting her left elbow on the wing of the chair, and with her right hand, she was playing with an ocean green paperweight kept on the wooden table.
Sanyogita noticed Indrani's finger movements and then shifted her arrow back to Indrani who parted her lips with a hopeless sigh
" Miss Malhotra, I can't help you in this case if her mother isn't ready for the FIR. Not only you, nobody can help you here. Either you convince the mother or the victim"
" Miss Jaiswal, I knew about it. I tried my best to meet the girl but couldn't but it's my firm belief that soon they will agree. "
" Mrs. Malhotra, the law doesn't work on belief. It needs FIR, investigation, then evidence upon based on all this things court give their judgment"
" I know Miss Jaiswal. But please could you take her case in anyhow if I'm able to convince the family to take an initiation”
" Mrs. Malhotra, why did you want to help that girl when her mother wasn't ready to take yours? ""
Sanyogita took a deep breath and exhaled immediately
" So that no more Janvi and Riddhima have to go through this horrible thing in the future "
Sanyogita's voice slowed down, she felt like her heart was put in a house caught on fire. She was suddenly flooded with emotion but she held back herself.
Indrani gets mute for a whole. She felt a cold creep breeze across her exposed skin.
" Mrs. Malhotra, you are emotionally attached to the girl. "
Sanyogita didn't respond. She knew. It was true.
" Can I ask you one thing? "
Sanyogita nodded her head with a blink
" Did Mr. Malhotra, I mean your husband, know that you want me to be Riddhima as you said her name to be her lawyer? ""
" No " a soft reply came out from Sanyogita's mouth
" Oh, I see!" Indrani took forward with clasping hands together and interlocking fingers, resting on the table
" In that case, I think you shouldn't…
Sanyogita cut off later in the middle and said with a determined voice
" He is worried for our safety one for me and another one for life lives growing inside of me"
she crossed her right palm over her belly
" You are pregnant Mrs. Malhotra?" "
Indrani sounded naturally astonished
" Yes"
" But why didn't you and..
" We didn't reveal the news in public. Actually, my grandmother-in-law- my biological mother and also My Mamsy ( she talks about Ananya) suggested that we keep this secret till the first trimester. They believe the first child is very lucky for a mother "
Indrani smiled formally, she didn't comment on the mention of Sanyogita.
" He will soon agree with me. I know him. Behind his every virility action, there is a concern for his wife. " Sanyogita said proudly and completed her sentence.
Indrani stared at her without a word. She motioned her eyes over Sanyogita's determined demeanour.

" Miss Jaiswal.. What's the use of being born as a human being if we can't be helpful in times of danger to others? Indrani stared at Sanyogita. She was amazed to hear her compare rape to pandemic disease.
She smiled hopefully assured
" Mrs. Malhotra, I'll take this case happily but before that, you have to convince them. I'll do my best for both your sister and Ridhhama. And I'll ask the judge to give one of the strict punishments so that no more Janvi and Riddhima have to be seen on this day"
Sanyogita looked at Indrani, she gulped her emotions. It was time to get justice

Nishant grinned like an insane
" Sanyo ko ankhen utha ke bhi dekha toh mein tujhe ish duniya se tera naam o Nishan bhi Mita dunga"Prithvi roared in the phone call
Nishant disconnected the call.
Prithvi through the glass and files kept on the table in fierce.
Arjun who was there in the cabin heard and witnessed everything. He found Prithvi fuming like an injured lion in a forest.
" Boss" Arjun whispered with a trembling voice .
Prithvi shot back a glance. His eyes were bloodshot.
Arjun's heart raced beneath his chest. Suddenly he saw Prithvi come out of the table. Blood was dripping from his left hand. Arjun's heart came into his mouth.
" Boss, where are you going?" "
Prithvi didn't reply, he stepped towards the gate.
Arjun came before him and blocked his path
Said in anticipation" Boss Don't go to Nishant? He wanted you to take another wrong step so that he would get a piece of strong evidence against you "
Prithvi looked at Arjun without a word. He goes through the advice given by Arjun. And found it Genuinely logical.
" Boss, you should focus on Madam … She is your priority first. " Arjun nodded his head with hope
Prithvi returned to his chair.
Arjun took out the fast-aid box from a wooden cupboard. And started cleaning the blood with antiseptic and dressed in white gauze.
