Chapter 52

Sid stopped the car and rushed in to the house. His heartbeat was at peaks. Sunny was there in hall in all tensed up condition. 

"What happened?" Sid asked anxiously as he reached sunny. While rahul silently followed sid. 

"Roli suddenly started feeling pain and sabita aunty said she's about to delivery the baby" sunny replied what he was told. 

"But, still there's ten days left for the due date" sid said worriedly before adding "where's roli now?". 

"Up in your room. I've called the doctor, she's in there too" sid didn't even wait until sunny finished his sentence. He hurriedly ran up to the stairs, reaching his room. 

"Is anything serious?" After sid left the hall, rahul turned to sunny and asked. 

"It shouldn't be. They said it's normal at sometimes" sunny slowly recalled what sabita and doctor had told him when he was worried after seeing roli's condition. 

In RoSid's room, sid pushed open the door and stopped with heavy breath as his eyes fell on roli, who was lying in the bed with closed eyes. 

Sid walked up to her in a fast pace. He sat at the edge of the bed beside her, taking her palm in to his. 

"Aey.. roli.." Sid's voice trembled as he didn't get any response from her. 

"Didi is fine" tanvi, who was standing at the side, spoke up. 

Sid raised his head up when he heard her voice. 

"She will wake up soon" tanvi continued. 

Sid turned back to roli. Her face was a bit pale. His heart was still not at peace. Perhaps, it could get settled only after he sees her smile. 

Suddenly something dawned in his head as he swifted his gaze from her face to her abdomen. It was flat. 

"It's a baby girl" tanvi might have understood what he was thinking so, she announced. 

Sid quickly looked up at her in surprise. At that time, bathroom door got opened and sabita along with the doctor came out of it. 

Sabita was stunned for a moment to found sid there. But, soon gaining her senses, she said with a smile "your daughter". 

It was then Sid's attention fell on to her hands, where she was holding a little baby, covered with a pink colored towel. 

Sid got up as sabita walked up to him. She forwarded her hands and gently placed the baby in Sid's arms. 

Sid seemed like not being in his senses as he held his baby in his arms. Having a newly born baby in the arms for the first time was something he never expected. And when the baby happened to be his own blood, it gave him goosebumps. 

And now he finally had someone of his blood relation. It felt like a dream for him. The baby slowly opened its eyes to find its father gazing without blinking his eyes. Baby slowly moved its hands, making sid smile. 

Sid's eyes sparkled with the tears of joy as he slowly bent his head down and kissed on his baby's delicate forehead. The baby's lips slightly curved upwards as if its smiling at its father. 

When the father and daughter were lost in their non-verbal conversation, doctor went to roli and checked her condition. 

"Well, I think I should take a leave now. Just follow these precautions for some days" doctor said and handed a paper to tanvi. 

Sid finally took his eyes off of his baby when he heard doctor's voice. "How's roli?" He asked taking a glance at roli. 

"She's fine but, still have to take good care for the next few days. Due to the tiredness, she's asleep now. She'll wake up soon. Don't worry" doctor replied. She was the bharadwaj family's doctor. As sid didn't want any outsiders to know about roli and his baby, he had specially appointed her to take care of roli in the bw house itself. 

"I'll make something for roli to eat when she wakes up" sabita said before leaving the room with the doctor. 

Sid again turned his attention to his baby. It's still looking at its father. Sid smiled at his little princess. 

"Bhai.." Tanvi went to sid hesitantly as she was a bit scared of him. 

Sid looked at her as she forwarded her hands and said "can I?". 

Tanvi was waiting from the moment baby was born to take it in her arms. But, she didn't get the chance as her mother and doctor were busy in checking whether the baby is healthy or not. 

Sid was in a pleasant mood so he immediately gave the baby to her. 

"Aww.. you finally came to me" tanvi was overjoyed as she had the baby in her arms. 

Sid went back to roli and sat next to her. He caressed her hairs and softly kissed her forehead. 

"Baby looks same like roli didi" tanvi commented as she admired the baby. 

"Let's us too see then" sunny spoke from the door and literally ran over to her, followed by rahul. 

"She's so cute" 

"How cute" 

Both rahul and sunny said simultaneously. 

It was first time to watch a newly born baby for them too. They wouldn't have expected to experience such a situation. 

"Give me the baby" sunny said, enthusiastically. 

"Me first" even rahul, who used to be calm, couldn't contain his joy and forwarded his hands to take the baby. 

"I just took now. I'm not giving" tanvi denied with a pout. Rahul immediately withdrew his hands. 

"You'll be here 24×7. You can play with the baby later. Now give it to me" sunny was super eager to take the baby in his arms. 

And tanvi and Sunny's argument continued for a few more minutes. Rahul in-between took tanvi's side and gained a few glares from sunny. Sid held his head hearing their argument. 

While they were arguing, suddenly they heard baby's cry. 

"Shh.. don't cry. Don't cry" tanvi quickly tried to make the baby calm. 

As soon as the baby started crying, sid immediately went near tanvi and took the baby. And now tanvi couldn't deny to give the baby away anymore as it was sid. 

Though sid didn't say a word to make the baby calm, yet it stopped crying as soon as it felt Sid's presence. 

"See, because of you the baby was crying and now it stopped" sunny said to tanvi. 

"Shut up" even before tanvi could respond, rahul said. 

"Wah! You're too good at supporting your love" sunny rolled his eyes. 

Tanvi looked confused at his comment. Rahul glared at sunny and signalled him not to talk any further. 

Sunny took it as a chance and climbed the ladder "tanvi, don't you know about his love". 

Tanvi obviously observed rahul's actions towards her but, never really took them seriously. She started to think about it when she witnessed his weird reaction to her match fixing topic brought by sunny the other day. And now when sunny asked her directly, she was clearly uncomfortable. 

Watching the uneasiness on her face, rahul turned to sunny and glared "can you shut your mouth?". 

Realising that rahul was being angry, sunny looked away. When he turned his head, he found roli opening her eyes. 

"Roli woke up" sunny said as if getting a chance to escape and quickly moved away from rahul before he roast him up with his glaring. 

Sid, who was busy in handling his baby, immediately turned to roli's side after hearing sunny. 

Roli slowly opened her eyes to find a blurry vision in front of her. It took a few seconds for her to get her vision clear. She tried to get up but soon stopped by sid. 

"Just laid down" sid reached her and made her to lay back on to the bed. 

Roli looked up at Sid's face which was beaming with unexplainable happiness. 

"Our baby.." sid showed the baby to roli.

Roli's eyes fell on the little baby in his arms. She looked up again at him in surprise. 

"Our daughter" sid smiled as he moved near her so that she could get a clear view of their baby. 

With an emotional smile, roli caressed the baby softly as the tears escaped her eyes. Roli again looked up at him and he understood what she meant. 

He called tanvi and gave the baby to her. Then turned to roli and helped her to sat up on bed as he arranged pillows at her back. And then took the baby and gave to her. 

Roli held the baby close to her heart and kissed it softly. Sid sat beside her and wrapped his arms around her. 

"Thank you for this precious gift" sid whispered as roli leant on his shoulder, admiring her little baby. 

Soon the room was filled with smiles, happiness and talks about whom the baby resembles the more, roli or sid. Though they couldn't come to any conclusion as the baby's face was same like roli but, the smile was exact replica of sid's.
