Bani constantly threw furtive glances at Pia hoping for her to regain her senses so that both of them could leave as soon as possible.The maid had called them for no real reason, Pia had merely stirred and muttered a few uncomprehensible words and then had fainted again.

The  deathly silence betweem Bani and Rajeev continued, both were strangely quiet, circumstances were not ideal for socialising.Bani looked at him, he looked away, she turned her eyes away from him and this continued for about ten more minutes.

Pia again muttered a few more words still not comprehensible but then she struggled to get up which meant that the effects of the drink were wearing off.This was the opportunity Bani was looking for to get away the first second she could.

Bani noticed Rajeev got up the same time as her.Perhaps he was waiting for the same opportunity.

Pia rubbed her eyes trying to form a clear image of the two bodies infront of her.Bani was angry but she knew it wouldnt be a good idea to create a drama infront of Rajeev.

''I think we can leave now''said Bani and the minute she had said it she felt like kicking herself because she hadnt even been tactful enough to thank Raj.

''Yeah i think you can, the doctor did say that she could go as soon as the effects wear off.''

''Di whats going on............''said Pia in a lazy voice

Bani did her best not to blast at Pia and so it took great self-control for her to say in a cold voice''Get up .we're going home.''

She might have had a hangover but Pia was quick enough to realise that this was not the time to test her sister's patience, so as lazily as she could she got out of the bed to stand alongside her sister.

''I'll drive you''said Rajeev

''No there's no need for that ,we'll walk.''said Bani just as Pia was about to say ''Yes''

''Look its really late outside i cant allow the both of you to go alone, please allow me i'll drop you.''

''Di cmon and its such a long way to go do you really think we can walk 5 km.''

Bani glared at Pia and she knew it was time for her to shut up.

''Well then thats that im driving.''said Raj as Pia looked trimphant.

''You dont understand''said Bani avoiding Raj's gaze''My sister, erm erm she wont be very happy to see you.''

''Oh the one who so clearly told me that i was lower than low.''said Rajeev clearly remembering her accusations and that moonlit night.He had meant to talk to her,to make her understand,Not knowing why he felt so bad that Tara had misunderstood him.

''Yeah, thats the one.''

''Fine then i will make sure that she doesnt see me but im not letting you go alone.''

There was no arguing, there was something powerful about his voice.Supporting Pia in her arms they headed downstairs as Bani caught one last glimpse of the portrait in the hall.
