Chapter 3

After explaining his good intentions to Ruchi, Arun left the clinic. He went out with Divya and got to know her a little better, she had one older brother named Karan, and she lived in a apartment in Manhattan, her favourite thing to do was watch Indian serials and read books. Arun felt at ease with her something, he felt rarely with Rushvi. While talking he disclosed to Divya that he also had a sister, but she was younger than him, named Maya. Then he even mentioned his sister's best friend Simran, who had been friends with Maya for so long, it was as if he did in fact have two sisters.

While at the clinic, Ruchi kept looking back at the big grandfather clock behind her desk.

"Why isn't he back yet?? I'm going to die if these patients all come on time.." Ruchi thinks.

While she is still turned around someone comes into the clinic, stealthily and walks up to behind Ruchi's desk and covers her eyes with their hands.

"Ahhh....who is this?" Ruchi screams?

"Guess?" The person replies.

"Hm....ok so I know it's a girl...and you definitely know me...and your voice...very familiar...is it Maya?" Ruchi guesses.

"Right as always!" Maya takes off her hands from Ruchi's eyes and walks back so Ruchi can get up. "I'm sorry to shock you this badly!"

"Oh hey, don't worry about it. But how are you here? You just called this morning saying you'll be coming in next week?" Ruchi asked.

"That my dear Ruchi is what we call a surprise!" Maya tells her.

Ruchi quickly takes her eyes off of Maya and sees the people standing behind her, a tall, handsome man, in a chocolate brown suit, with a royal blue tie. He smiles nervously and Ruchi sees his dimples. The girl standing next to her, is wearing a light blue salwar suit.

Rahul:

Simran:

"Oh Ruchi, this is Rahul Khanna, a friend from work, and this is Simran, I think you've heard of her before na?" Maya asked.

"Hi Rahul, Hi Simran. I'm Ruchika. Ruchi for short!" Ruchi smiled as she told them.

"So where's Arun? I need to hurt him....he got engaged, and didn't even let me meet her?" Maya laughed.

"Arun's out for lunch, but...I have something that could maybe make you happy..." Ruchi picks up a picture frame from her table and hands it to Maya.

Maya sees the picture of Rushvi and Arun, and is shocked.
