As the Sun Sets on Us…

Angad sat in his room, looking at the ring around his finger. He remembered the importance this ring held…maybe not for him, but for Kripa.
FLASH BACK TO THREE DAYS BEFORE ANGAD LEFT NY---
K- Here
A- Are you proposing?
K (laughing) No idiot
A- Okay, cause I was about to say…
K- Yeah, yeah….here
A- What's this
K- A promise ring
A- Huh?
K- See I figured out you'll never give me one, so I decided to take the initiative
A- I see
K- I got one for you and me…
A- And what am I promising?
K- To remember me…always.
A- I don't need a ring to do that
K- I know my dear boyfriend…but, I still want you to have it. Because I love you
A- I know…thanks girlfriend
     Kripa put the ring on Angad's finger, and Angad kissed the ring and put it on Kripa's.
END OF FLASHBACK---
He sat there and wondered…perhaps the day he'll remove this ring, will be the day he'll gather courage to tell Kripa, he doesn't deserve it…not from her.
Today Kripa and Meem were hanging out all day. Girls day out. First they went to the mall.
M- Hey, remember this is where you told me about you and Angad
K- Yeah…you were so shocked.
M- Well it was shocking
K- Yeah…I guess
M- Well anyway, I'm buying this coat.
K- Okay, it looks great.
    Angad was studying with Vedika in hi dorm room. Lately they started getting along a lot better. Angad was just waiting, for one chance to explain everything to Vedika. Juts once chance to make it all right…or maybe to make it wrong all over again. Vedika was into her reading, and Angad was bored. And so he pushed Vedika, just for fun.
V- What was that for?
A- I dunno, I bored.
   Vedika looked at him all angry and pushed him back.
A- What was that for?
V- Shut up!
    Angad pushed her again, and Vedika got up and poured all the chips from the bag on his head. Angad got up and tackled Vedika down on the floor.
V- Get off of me!
A- Say sorry
V- Shut up!
   Vedika pinched Angad's neck. Then Angad rolled over and held Vedika's arms. Eventually, they began wrestling. Vedika surprisingly put up a good fight. While wrestling they talked as well.
V- You stupid confused boy, you don't even you know own feelings
A- Well if you ever would have given me a chance to talk!
V- I did! A whole 3 months loser!
A- Well…I'm a slow expresser!
V- I didn't take you long to express anything to Kripa
     Hearing that, Angad tightened his grip on Vedika's arm.
V- Ouch! Angad your breaking my f***ing arm!!
A- Sorry…sorry
Angad got and quietly left the room.
V- Wow…his break up with Kripa have been pretty bad.
    Meem and Kripa in Main Street now.
M- So what would you do if Angad broke up with you?
K- Don't say that!
M- Sorry, I'm just asking
K- Well…I love him, so it'll hurt but I'll just have to deal with it. I mean…I cant think that Angad and I will be together forever.
M- Yeah…nothing lasts forever
Shazad was walking around main Street with some of his friends too. He saw Kripa and Meem together, and went up to them. He really didn't like Kripa hanging out with Meem.
S- Hey guys
K- Hey
M- ….hi
S- So um whats up
K- Just chilling, you want to join us
S- Nah, I got things to good…but um, Kripa can I talk to you for a minute.
K- Of course darling
They walked to the side and Shazad blasted at Kripa
S- What the hell are you doing?
K- What?
S- Why are you with that!
K- Meem?
S- Whatever
K- Shazad, chill out…you're the one who told me to be friends with her
S- And you're the one who said she's a *****!
K- Shazad, stop acting like a girl
S- I don't like you being all friends with her
K- Aw, baby, she wont steal me from you. You're my best friend
S- Shut up
K (laughing)- God, don't worry…how about you go find yourself a lady friend…you kinda need it.
S- Bye
K- Hey! Bud's over studs
S- Sons over Huns
They did their little cute handshake, and went their ways.
Back in Boston Vedika was leaving to her next class. She decided to give Angad a call. HE way the ran out the that room in the morning, she was a bit worried. It went to voice mail
V- Hey buddy, just wanted to see how you were, you kinda left the room in a hurry this morning. So yeah that's its…bye. Oh and PS- We are so having a rematch!
She hung up and went to class. Vedika sat in class but couldn't pay attention at all. Today her lab got canceled so, their professor called a lecture lab, instead of a practical one. For 2 and a half hours they sat there listening to him speak. Vedika wasn't listening, she was thinking about Angad. Maybe she should give him a chance to speak. He and Kripa must have broken up…I mean, she never hears him mention her. Maybe they could give it another try…but that e way to risky. Vedika didn't want to risk falling back in love with him. She sat their taking her mechanical pencil apart. She literally…broke it into its elements. Seeing this the professor realized two hours of lecturing isn't a bright idea.
P- Why don't we take a break…
    Shazad was at the park playing on his own. He saw Hussein drop by there with…well Shazad didn't know who he was. He was little, about 10. Probably his brother. Shazad went up to them and thought maybe he should have some fun.
S- Hey Hussein
H- …..
S- Oh why the long face?
H- How about you get out of my face
S- Just because Meem decided to get back with me doesn't mean…
H- What?
S- What, what? Meem...yeah, I just dropped her home. Why?
H- Nothing…bye.
   Hussein took his brother and left. Shazad stood there with a grin on his face. He found it so entertaining to play mind games.
Angad was sitting in the library…the enjoyed the soothing silence of the walls. In this silence, he couldn't even hear himself…that was the best part of the silence. To was so serene, he wished the silence could stay forever. But it was soon disrupted.
V- Hey
A- Hey…I'm sorry about his morning
V- It's okay…. so I was thinking.
A- You think too?
V- Very funny. So, you how you always tell me to give you a chance to "explain" god knows what?
A- Yeah
V- Well, I'm giving you that chance, right now. Explain all you want.
    Angad stared at Vedika for a minute.
A- Is your arm okay?
V-….yes
A- I hurt you pretty bad right?
V- I guess
A- I don't want to it again. I think I should go
Angad kissed Vedika's forehead and left the library. Vedika was just confused now…she just couldn't understand Angad. One minute he's going crazy to explain why he didn't love her. Then next he has to go.
V- Irritating Creature!
    It was around 6 now. The sun was still shining. That how it was around spring. Kripa loved it. It felt as it the sun was shining always. She sure did love it light. She and Meem were eating their dinner. Kripa opened her fortune cookie and read it aloud.
K- "If you love someone let them go, if they come back they are yours, if they don't, they never were".
M- Funny thought
K- NO…I really believe in this.
M- But I mean…what's the use in it.
K- What do you mean?
M- Like…okay you let them go, and what if they don't come back. Like you let Angad go, now what if he never comes back. Your just going accept the fact the he wasn't meant for you?
K- I guess
M- But isn't it easier, to keep with near you and not risk losing him?
K- Well, but…
M- I mean…what's the use of letting him go?
K- I guess that's faith
M- I don't know, I find it pointless. I think I'd rather keep the one I love near me, then risk going through the pain of knowing he isn't meant for me.
K- Maybe
Angad rushed into Vedika's room. Vedika quickly got up in shock.
V- what's wrong?
A- Remember you gave me a chance to explain, and I didn't say anything?
V- Yeah?
A- Can you give me that chance again?
V- Angad…
Angad slowly walked towards Vedika. Staring into her eyes.
A- You know…Kripa said she loved me
V- Oh
   He held Vedika's hands and entangled his fingers into them.
A- But I couldn't love her back
V- Why not
A- Because I love someone else
V- Who?
A- You tell me…
   Vedika felt the tears fall down her cheek, and Angad slowly touch her face. Just as Vedika was about to speak, Angad stopped her with a kiss. He kissed her passionately and Vedika reluctantly kissed him back. Angad bit Veidka's lower lips with his lips. And looked at her.
A- I love you
Vedika took a moment to let that sink in. Could it be? Did Angad really just say he loved her?
V- Do you know how long I've been waiting to hear that?
A- Do you know how long I've been wanting to say that?
V- I love you…I love you so much
A- I love you too
They kissed again, Angad kissed Vedika, like he never kissed anyone before. He never want any other lip to touch his ever again. Vedika put the arms around Angad's neck, and Angad pick her up as they fell of the bed. Angad kissed Vedika all over her neck. Vedika to felt Angad, he was burning. She could feel him burning. Or was it she who was burning. It was as if they were in flames. As they kissed, Vedika felt Angad's teeth. She loved his teeth. Angad bit the side of Vedika's shoulder. Pain never felt this good before. Soon after, you could no longer tell which figure was whom…
Meem was going home. She saw Hussein leaning on his car waiting for her.
M- Hi
H- Hey
M- What's wrong?
H- I know, I have no right to ask this, but…
Shazad was playing basketball in the park, when Meem came. She angrily walk up to Shazad and yelled at him.
M- What the hell is wrong with you!
S- A lot of things…any specifics you might like to add
M- What's up with all that crap you told Hussein?
S- Oh your dumb dumb reached you
M- Screw you
S- HEY! SCREW YOU OKAY!
M- Why are you…
S- Why are you Meem. You know you want me…you know your need me. Accept it.

Saying that Shazad left in his car. Meem stood there…maybe she still did have some sort of crazy feeling for Shazad. But, never was she going to show it…not after what happened today. Now, Meem was going to play the mind games…to take one guy down all you need is another guy. All you need is Hussein.
Kripa stood by her window…she felt so happy today. The sun seemed to be so bright. She felt as if your world was full of light, full of happiness. Full of love.
   Angad and Vedika were in bed holding each other. They were both awake, fully aware of what just happened. Vedika felt Angads arms around her. But he wasn't speaking…Vedika knew that maybe it was time she spoke. She spoke in a low, graceful voice.
V- Do you still love me? If you don't, you can leave…I wont stop you…I wont hate you.
Vedika felt Angads arms move away from her. She closed her tears, and tried to stop the tears. She felt that lump in her throat. She just wanted him to leave, leave before she started crying. But he didn't leave. He hugged her again, this time tighter. On the side table next to Angad, rested the promise ring Kripa had given him. What was the use of wearing a promise ring, when the promise it self was broken? Angad stared at the empty ceiling, knowing that this was it. Knowing that the only person he ever wanted to put a ring on his finger was the woman sleeping next to him right now…the woman he loved.
The golden color of the ring seemed to be fading away…just as the sun set.

Well, I told you it was a cliff hanger. Well, I'm not sure when I'll continue. I have another story I want to write. So maybe, I'll start that now, and when I get it it's season finale, and continue this one again. Or maybe not…I'll let you all know. Well, it's okay, you can all hate Vedika and Angad. After reading it myself, I'm kinda disliking Vedika and hating Angad too. But no crazy bashing please. So here's question season's Question- Does Love truly exist? In this day and age…in 2006, do they kids of 2006 really know how to love? In this day and age, when everyone is so self centered, thinking only about themselves…when their so mechanical, can they really feel such strong emotion? The love in movies like Veer Zaara, Devdas, Mohobatein, if that's real love, then it sure isn't here anymore. If it does, then where is it? Is it hiding? Afraid that its purity will get spoil in the filth of your corporate world? So did we lock it up in some dark closet? Where is it?
