Part 21- A little to much in Common

It was late into the school day. Meem and Shazad didn't talk all day. Shazad knew Meem was mad at him for lying to her about the party, but he really thought that she had no reason to be mad. He and Meem were broken up at that time, so why did it make a difference if he went with some other girl? Yet he still felt guilty, felt as if he betrayed her. And he didn't like it. He met Meem, in the middle of a class.
S- Can we talk?
M- Shazad, hun I'm kinda
S- Just a minute
M- Okay, what is it.
S (deep breath) I'm sorry
M- About?
S- About lying to you about the party
M- Oh…I not mad
S- I can so tell that you are
M- Well, do you blame me?
S- No…and so I'm saying sorry. I should have told you about it, yesterday when you asked me.
M- Its okay…just don't lie about these things later on. If you have to lie, don't it for something worth it.
S (laughing)- Babe, next time I wont lie to you about anything, ever!
M- Okay then
   Meem and Shazad starting kissing passionately.
D- EXCUSE ME!
S- Oh sorry
M- Bye
Meem went back in class. Mr. Das went up Shazad and wrote him a detention note
S- Detention??
D- Yup
S- Mr. Das come on, please! I need my Lunch's free.
D- Really for what?
S- MEEM!
D- Well then I have some good news for you
S- What's that?
D- Meem's getting a detention notice too
S- Thats not funny, her parent's will kill her
D- Well then…maybe next time you two wont make out in the hallway during class
S- Uff….whatever
D- See you two in lunch. Now go to class.
   Shazad rolled his eyes, and walked to class. Mr. Das was a great teacher, a cool too. But at times he could be such a ***.
     At lunch Angad and Kripa were sitting next to each other, eating.
A- Kripa?
K- Yeah
A- Do you ever miss Raj?
K- I don't know
A- No really…do you ever think about him?
K- Well yeah, but I'm over it
A- I see
K- Do you still think about Vedika a lot?
A- Maybe
K- Yeah, it takes a while
A- Kripa?
K- Hmm
A- Can I have your fries?
K- Angad, you loser! You just had a heart transplant, you think I'll let you eat fries?
A- I swear…your like my Bua
K- Aww…so sweet of you to complement your Bua like that
A- What? No
K- Eat your salad!
A-I swear…if having a good heart mean I have to eat leaves, than I was a lot happier with my broken heart
K- Well at least your heart isn't broken anymore.
A- I guess….
K- EAT!
     After dismissal, Mr. Das was walking to his car, and he bumped into Ms. Nisa. It was funny how they worked in the same school and yet never saw each other. Well, it really wasn't that they just never saw each other, it was more than that
N- You've been hiding from me I see
D- Really? You think so
N- I know so. Why Das, I don't bite
D- Hahaha…I wish a had a time machine, you take you to the past and show you how much you really do bite.
N-(laughing) Shut up.
D- Just kidding
N- So um…can we talk?
D- Nisa, I have to go
N- really?
D- actually…why not. Lets go.
    They went to a restaurant to talk.
D- Nisa…I love you
N-……..I love
D- but
N- But?
D- Nisa…I really do love you, but being with you will make me feel so guilty about…
N- Urvashi?
D- Yes, Urvashi.
N- I see
D- Nisa, I asked for a transfer to another school. And it was accepted too
N- Oh
D- I should go now…bye
     Nisa didn't know what to say. For a teacher she never felt so deprived of words. What do you say to a person, who's leaving you even though you both know you want to be together? How do you stop the person from leaving? Should you stop him?
N (smiling yet sad)- Bye Das…that word sound so dumb right now.
     Das smiled at Nisa and kissed her forehead as he felt. He didn't know if this was the right thing, but sometimes you don't think about right or wrong, you just stop thinking. Just was one of those times.
     The year past by extremely fast. Soon it was summer and school was on break. Meem had gone out for vacation with her family. Meem was happy, these past months, she really didn't get much time with her family. Of course, Shazad hated it. But he spent his time of the basketball court. Now finally Angad could play.
     One day, while Angad and Shazad were playing, Kripa came and sat on the bench reading a book. After the game, it was sunset. Angad came and sat next to Kripa. They were talking. Angad loved talking to Kripa. It was mainly because Kripa and he were going through the same issues in their love life. He could relate to her a lot, and also he was extremely comfortable with her.
K- You know its Raj's birthday today?
A- Really?
K- Yeah...his 19th birthday
A- Did you…
K- No. Before he left, he told me never to call him
A- That's pretty harsh
K- I guess. But it was good to. It helped me get over him too.
A- That's true. I think if Vedika still lived here, then maybe I wouldn't be able to..you know.
K- Yeah.
A- Our love lives stink
K- I know yaar
A- We have way too much in common
K- A little to much
     Kripa and Angad were staring at each other. Angad's eye's went from the top to bottom of Kripa's face. Slowly he got closer to her. His head kept telling him stop. That this didn't make sense. But he didn't listen. Perhaps…perhaps he should have listened to his head that day.
     He moved his lips close to Kripa's. Staring at them with his passionate eyes. Kripa brought her lips close to his too. And soon they were kissing. While kissing, Angad immediately, grabbed Kripa arm and brought her closer to him. The sun was setting behind them as they kissed. Their first kiss….If only….if only Angad had listened to his head.
