Part 19- The End of the begining

      Its funny, how time goes by so slowly in the hospital. It takes a hour for each second to pass by. Another thing is that no two people are ever waiting together. Everyone is someplace else, running from themselves, trying to deny the fact the their loved one was in danger. They at this point were going through a similar feeling. Kripa, Shazad's parents, Urvashi, they were all at the hospital. Waiting, that's all anyone can do their, wait…
     Mr. Das came by, after hearing about Shazad. He saw Kripa and went to her.
D- How's Shazad doing?
K- I regained conscious a while ago but then…
D- I see. And his parents?
K- Their here…someplace
D- Okay, so I'll wait until I can see him once
K- Until then you can meet Angad
D- Angad? He was in the car too?
K- No…umm he had a operation
     The expression on Mr. Das's face changed. It was a mixture of curiosity and worry. Why didn't Urvashi call him? He knew everything about Angad, it would be typical knowing that Urvashi and Angad don't have anyone else here, that he would be the first person Urvashi would call.
D- You mean his heart condition?
K- Yeah…he had a transplant.
D- Oh I see…what room is he in?
K- 302
D- Okay, I'll be back
   As Mr. Das went to Angad, Ms. Nisa came also. Kripa went and hugged her.
N- Are you okay?
K- Yeah, just kinda tired that's all
N- Yeah you look it
K- Shazad is still under observation
N- I see. Where are his parents
K- His mother s right there
Ms. Nisa went to Mrs. Islam to comfort her. While they where talking Urvashi passed the hallway and saw Ms. Nisa. Her eyebrow went up and she went to her.
Mr. Das found Angads room and went in.
D- Your still pretty far from 30 Angad.
A (light laugh)- Bua told you
D- Actually no, I came to see Shazad and Kripa told me.
A- I see
D- How are you feeling now
A- Fantastic
D- So finally they know about you
A- Yeah…they do
D- Why did you keep it a secret? After Kripa found out about your condition, did she treat you any different?
A- Yes she did? Her eyes….she felt sorry for me
D- You don't like people feeling sorry for you?
A- NO…I wanted to be like everyone else, I didn't want to be special. But now…everything will change, I'll get special privileges, people will let me cut in line, I wont have to climb the stairs, everyone will looked at me with pity….just like my last school.
D- I see. You know Angad, there's always two ways of looking at life, its up to know to decide which way you want to look at it. What you saw in Kripa's eyes was pity, but maybe it was concern. Its up to you to choose, what did you want to see?
A- Nothing…no concern or pity.
D- See Angad, if you didn't have a heart condition, if you were in Shazads place, what then? Wouldn't everyone still look at you with concern?
A- I guess
D- You have to understand that they weren't looking at you with concern because of your heart but because they all love you very much.
A- Did you come here to give me a lecture
D- Didn't plan on it but hey…you should never let go of a good chance for a lesson.
A-Whatever…
D- Anyway, here…take this
A- A book? Do you not know me, have you ever seen me reading anything?
D-NO, but maybe you should start now. it's a great book…time pass
A- The 5 people you meet in heaven? That's nice, great timing for a book about heaven.
D- Bye Angad.
A- ….See ya
   As Mr. Das was leaving Urvashi came in.
U- I need to talk to you
D- Why didn't you call me before I…
U- Come to my cabin please
    There was a strange coldness in Urvashi's tone. It just confused Das even more. When they went in the cabin, Urvashi handed over her engagement ring to Das.
D- Okay what is going on?
U- I'm breaking this engagement Das
D- What? Why?
U- I think you know why
D- What?
U- I saw Nisa here
D_ Okay….wait, I swear I didn't know she was here
U- I know you didn't. Das…I'm not a little girl, I can accept the facts. I can accept that you still love her. I'm fine with it, I wish both of you a happy life.
D- But…
U - No! It ends right now. I don't want to chose between us two…I don't want to be your second choice. You love her, so be with her. You know me, you know I don't like drama. And so, I'm asking you and her to leave. Now!
D- Urvashi I…
U- Good Bye.
   Das left the cabin and walked away. He saw Nisa leaving and caught up with her. They didn't talk, but just walked next to each other.
   As the weeks past by, both Angad and Shazad recovered. The day Shazad was released from the hospital, still in pain, he begged Kripa to take him someplace.
K- Shazad, why
S- Please…
K- Your still….I wont
S- Kripa, either you take me or I'll go on my own.
K- Fine…but Im not happy about it
S- That's okay
Kripa drove him to the place. He got out of the car and rang the bell. AS the door opened Meem came out.
S- Hi
M- Hi…what are you doing here?
S- Remember when I told you to leave…in the hospital?
M- Yeah
S- Well….If I tell you to come back will you?
M-…
S- Come Back Meem…please
   When Meems tears started falling she didn't know, when she hugged Shazad she didn't know, when she started falling in love with Shazad she wished she knew…
Kripa sat in the car and smiled. She started to miss Raj. Just when she was about to go into a memory lane sequence she got a call.
K- Hi Angad…
