Deepti couldn't meet Mahi anytime except for formal business talks. DM was sending lunch for Shabd and Mahi now as Mahi was not allowed to have food outside due to her pregnancy. Shabd was feeding her until she finishes her plate completely. Mahi was enjoying their pampering.
Deepti tried to talk to Mahi in friendly way but Mahi kept her upto boss-employee relation. Raj was enjoying Deepti's sulkiness but acted innocent.
One day Deepti caught Mahi while Mahi was walking to her cabin from art department. "Kyon, Mahi! tum mujhey avoid kar rahi hai? Kya huva? Mein toh bahut kush ho rahi thi tumhari news sunkey. Aaj kal tum cabin se bahar hi nahin nikalti." Her voice sounded both complaining and disappointing.
Mahi smiled "aisi kuch baat nahin, Deepti! Tuhi keheti thi na mein boss ki wife hokar employee jaisi behave karti hoon aur Suhani boss lagti hai? I thought I should take over my company in my hands, after all I'm the owner of the company."
Deepti's face lit as her ideas were followed by Mahi. Mahi continued after seeing Deepti's joyful face "main tumhari bhi boss hoon na? I have to keep distance from you all too, after all I'm the boss of the company. So, now go to your table. Kaam chodkar gappey maarna band karo. Concentrate on your work and stop wasting your time." Mahi ordered in her authoritative tone and walked into her cabin.
Deepti sulked at her arrogance "hmm, meri billi mujh sey meow? Dekhti hoon, yeh kaisi raaz karegi?" Raj settled his throat "Keep your fingers cross, Deepti! Mahi was your friend and she forgave you. Nahin toh ab tak tumhara naukari chali gayi hoti." She gave dirty looks at Raj and stomped to her table. Raj thought to warn Mahi more about Deepti's behavior.
Second month ending….. doctor confirmed Mahi was carrying twins. The doctor couldn't confirm their gender yet. The entire family greeted them with excitement as these were the first TWINS in entire family history.
Mahi and Shabd were fighting everyday atleast once about the babies. Shabd wanted to take care of girl as he likes girls and Mahi agreed to give him a chance. But he changed his mind the next moment and said he wants to take care of boy as he carries his family name to next generation. Mahi agreed for this also as he had valid reason. But Shabd felt awkward to think boy is superior to girl and changed his mind "Mahi! ye buri baat hai ki I take care of son coz he carries my family name. Beti bhi itni pyari hoti hai ki wo apni family ki izzat kissi aur ghar mein lekey jaati hai. I would like to take care of girl. You take care of boy."
Mahi frowned "Shabd! Make up your mind first." DM laughed adorably at their fights "tum donon chuprahey toh mein ek baat boloongi." Both turned to her, she smiled at their innocent faces "donon bachon ko main paloongi tum donon har roz office hokar ajaana." Both sighed "yehi hoga na!!"
Mahi immediately recovered "mein job chod dungi. Shabd! You have to go to work. Mard ho na, mein maa hoon. Ghar mein rehkar bachon ke dekhbaal karungi." She explained acting innocent. Shabd boxed her ears "bahut chalak hai, meri shoni! I too want to take care of babies." DM laughed at them for restarting fights and walked away as it never ends.
They get tired at the end of the day and relaxed on bed "Shabd! Waisey hum donon roz jagada kar rahey hai, argument kar rahey hai ki koun kisko sambhalengey. Humey yeh bhi pata nahin twins mein ek ladka ek ladki hongey ya donon ladkiyan, ya donon ladkey hongey."
Shabd took her into his arms and caressed her strands "koyi bhi ho donon ko hum sambhalengey. Donon bhi apna khoon hai, apna sapney hai. Wo donon humarey khwaishey puri karengey." Mahi smiled at the compromise and moved close to him circling her hands around his waist and resting her face into his neck. Shabd kissed her cheeks, neck and pressed closer in his embrace. Mahi melted in his hands forgetting all her tiredness.
Shabd was taking Mahi to regular check-ups. DM was cooking all Mahi's favourite dishes. Mohini and Brij were calling almost every day to find out Mahi's health. Raaji, soni, veena were chatting every other day and giving advices sharing their experiences. Shabd kept guessing that Mahi was carrying a boy and a girl as she keeps on changing her cravings.
After six months, Mahi was taken for scan and the doctor announced she was carrying a girl and a boy. Happiness in Shabd and Mahi lives crossed boundaries. Malhotra family and Khurana family pampered both prospective parents with their delicious special dishes and pampering.
