About the Man they Love the Most

The music coming out of Sitaar was not soothing her nerves and the storm blowing outside was increasing her restlessness. 

Her fingers were recklessly moving on the strings of Sitaar, remembering the argument she had with her son in morning. 

The pain and anguisgness was clearly visible on her face, no matter what, she couldn't see her son hurt but to prove herself right she was giving him so much pain. 

Her fingers started moving more speedily on Sitaar while recalling his son's words 

"Maa aapke liye family ka matlab sirf logon ko control mein rakhna hai"

"Maa aap kabhi kisi ko khush kyu nahi dekh sakti "

"Maa kabhi kabhi to lagta hai ki aap mujhse pyaar hi nahi karti"

"Maaa",a scream made her come out of her revive,  she opened her eyes and  felt pain in her fingers, when she looked she saw that her fingers were drenched in blood, probably got cut by the strings. 

She realized that tears are flowing continusly from her eyes, tears of anguisgness and pain.

When she tried to wipe it, she felt the hold on her hand, she looked at the person who held it. 

It was none other than Mishti, she was wiping the blood from her fingers with cotton swab. Then she realized that it was mishti who had screamed maa. 

She looked at the girl in front of her, worry lines clearly visible on her face. Looking very much tensed. 

M-maa aap thik hai 

She asked after putting band aid on the wound. Meenakshi nodded her head in yes and saw her taking sigh in relief.

She never liked this girl, first because of her attitude,  the way she behaved with her family and her son kunal. She rejected him. Her son, Meenakshi Rajvansh's son. 

Slowly slowly when she started getting to know her, the reason to hate her started diminishing, but her self righteous ego started growing and now she needs no more reason to hate her. She could just hate her because she's Mishti. 

She looked at Mishti, who was looking at her with concern filled eyes, she turned her face away from her, not wanting to admit that the girl in front of her actually cares about her. 

She closed her eyes, controlling her emotions not wanting to show how vulnerable she's right now, she took a deep breath and again turned towards mishti. 

Mishti who was staring at her mother in law till now, lowered her eyes when Meenakshi looked at her. 

Me-Mishti tum yaha kya karne aayi thi 

Mishti stood up from her place and said 

Mi-maa wo aapne khaana nahi khaya 

It was more  a statement than question. Meenakshi sighed and said 

Me-abir nahi aaya na abhi tak 

Mishti lowered her eyes and sighed, don't know how to talk further or better what to talk, she never feels comfortable around maa, a constant fear exists in her heart whenever she comes in front of her. 

She raised her head when Meenakshi asked her 

Me-vo mera phone nahi utha raha, tumhari to usse baat hui hogi na 

She could literally hear sadness and pain in her voice, the pain she's going through because his son is not talking to her, not trusting her, but she couldn't blame abir for that, afterall it's her doing. 

Meenakshi looked at her with some sort of light in her eyes, was that hope, mishti couldn't fathom. If it was hope then she's going to break a mother's hope this time. 

She closed her eyes in pain recalling her and abir's morning fight. Yes they again had an argument regarding kuhu. He is not ready to listen her point of view and she's not ready to under stand his. 

Meenakshi saw the painful expression appeared on Mishti's face and then she recalled the morning incident, she had heard their argument when she was passing by their room. 

They had been arguing about kuhu, she remembered how satisfied she had felt when she had heard her son taking side of kuhu instead of mishti, she had felt sadistic pleasure when she saw Mishti's face  crunched painfully hearing abir's talk. 

Abir in anger just came out of the room and went outside the house, mishti ran behind him and stopped in living room when realized that he's gone. 

The look on mishti's face when she said to herself "naashta bhi nahi kiya",  made Meenakshi's heart lurched who also had came downstair till then. For the first time she felt something for that girl. 

For the first time she acknowledged the concern and love visible on mishti's face for her son. She gulped the strange feeling of restlessness.

Recalling the morning incident Meenakshi sighed, atleast she can understand what mishti is going through. 

Looking at her she said 

Me-main samajh sakti hu mishti

Mishti looked up hearing Meenakshi's words. For the first time she saw great amount of pain in those emotionless eyes. But she also saw a knowing look on her face. Mishti's heart beat raised in discomfort, she don't know what to say, what her maa could understand, does she know something, does she know about her and abir's fight 

Me-abir ko humesha se yehi lagte aaya hai ki main kisi se pyaar nahi karti, bus sabko apne control mein rakhna chahti hu

She saw mishti looking at her with confusion 

Me-maine aaj subah tumhari aur abir ki baatein sun li thi 

Mishti's eyes got widened in shock, she gasped realizing meenakshi heard all the argument held between her and abir, but the next words by Meenakshi agitated her to the core 

Me-abir aisa hi hai mishti, agar use koi baat sahi nahi lagi to wo use beech raah mein chodkar chala jaata hai 

Mishti could see longing in her eyes, but she didn't liked how Meenakshi think about Abir 

Mi-maa abir sirf sach ki ummeed karta hai sabse, pyaar bhi nahi sirf sach, agar sab use vo dede to wo humesha sabke saath khada rahega 

Meenakshi looked at her with frown on her face 

Me-mishti main us dard se guzar chuki hu, main jaanti hu akele rehna kaisa hota hai, jab koi tumhe beech majdhaar mein chodkar chala jaata hai, aur meri tapasya abhi bhi puri nahi hui, us samay mere pati aur ab mera.. 

Mi-maa please 

Mishti didn't let Meenakshi complete her sentence, not wanting her to compare a gem like person to a fraud and cheater. She could never let anyone degrade abir like this, not even his own mother. 

Mi-Abir Mehul Kapadia nahi hai maa 

Meenakshi gritted her teeth hearing that vile man's name, but she didn't deny mishti, somewhere in her heart she always compared Abir with Mehul, not about how he's a cheat and fraud but how he left her, how he betrayed her. The woman inside her always craved for love, always cried due to betrayal. Always seeing Parul in front of her, the small part of her heart always compared her with herself, her heart burnt seeing the other woman of her life daily in front of her. 

Her husband betrayed her with that woman, and now Abir, her son also left her with that woman. 

She never said anything to Parul because she knew the mistake was not hers, that disgusting man played with both of them. But Abir taking Parul's side is actually like he is rubbing salt on her wounds. She could never let her son go away from her to Parul, never ever. 

Me-abir bhi dusro ke liye mujhe chodke chala jaayega, (then turning towards mishti)ya yun kahun ki jaa chuka hai 

Mishti was giving her unbelievable look, she couldn't believe that Meenakshi was dealing with these kind of insecurities. 

Mi-maa abir aapko kabhi chodkar nahi jaayega 

She heard Meenakshi sarcastically chuckling, she frowned not understanding why meenakshi is not ready to understand that the insecurities she's having in her heart are because of her actions towards others. 

Mi-maa aap abir ko apne aapse baandh ke rakhna chahti hai, par jis dor se aap use baandh rahi hai wo use chubh rahi hai, vo tadap raha par aapse dur hone ke liye nahi, us dor se chutne ke liye 

Meenakshi looked at her with some unknown emotions, listening to mishti she recalled the time when Mehul's truth got out, the happiness on her son's face, he was ready to lay whole world on her feet 

"Bas maa aap kahiye, aap jo bhi chaahengi vahi hoga", the glow on his son's face was priceless. He was jumping like a child around her, showering all his love on her that day. 

And what she did, she snatched away that happiness, she made her son's life miserable just to prove that what she thinks is right and everyone else is wrong. 

Did she really pushed abir away from her just to satisfy her ego. Tears started flowing from her eyes again. 

She felt a hand wiping her tears, she looked at mishti who was wiping her tears while shaking her head telling her not to cry 

Mi-maa abir ko sirf pyaar se bandhiye, vo kabhi aapse dur nahi jaayega 

Both the ladies have tears in her eyes, both don't want to leave the Man who they love the most in this world. Both want to bind him with them together forever. 

Both heard the car honk and stood up realizing Abir has arrived, finally. Both sighed in relief. Then looked at each other 

Me-tum jaao mishti 

Mi-maa khana

Me-main khaa lungi tum jaao 

Mishti lowered her eyes and rushed outside. Meenakshi stood there seeing his son coming out of the car. 

She just want to hug him and cry. She want to tell him how much she loves him, how she never wanted him to leave her. 

She saw mishti running towards abir and hugging him tightly, abir smiled and hugged her back, no one can say that they had fought this morning. 

They both broke the hug and mishti started saying something and abir cupped her face shaking his head and kissed her forehead. 

She turned around thinking was it that easy to mend things, they fought in morning, abir was so angry but he came back, he comforted her because he loves her and she loves him too. 

Suddenly she is feeling suffocated, not seeing any way to go, what she could do. Just then she heard the voice he was craving to hear, not just the voice but the concern in that voice too 

"Maa", Abir came towards her 

A-maa mishti ne bataya aapko chot lag gayi hai 

He took her hand and caressed the part where mishti had applied band aid , tension lines clearly visible on his forehead 

A-maa aapko dhyaan rakhna chahiye tha na, aur aapne khana bhi nahi khaya, chahiye ab chalke khana khaa lijiye. 

He held Meenakshi's shoulder and lead her in, walking down the staircase to dining table, all the Meenakshi had tears in her eyes, realizing his son has not given up on her, STILL. 

She saw Mishti arranging plates at dining table, abir pulled the chair and made her sit. 

A-maa aapke haanthon mein chot lagi hai, main khila deta hu 

And he started feeding her, she looked at mishti who was looking at her with a fond smile. 

Abir looked at his mother who was looking at mishti, he can feel the change in his mother's gaze, something had happened which he's not aware of, something had took place between his wife and mother. 

He called mishti and told her to sit beside him. 

Now abir was sitting between Meenakshi and Mishti, he started feeding Mishti too with same plate.

Both the women got overwhelmed seeing his love for them. He could never leave them no matter how much DIFFERENCE OF OPINION occur between them. 

Meenakshi looked at his son and daughter in law, abir teasing Mishti with spoon, not letting her have food easily, and both giggling. 

She looked at Mishti and recalled her saying 

"Maa aap bas mujhe ek chance dijiye"

Maybe it's time to give chance to Mishti and........................ HERSELF
